Pretty, your review made me laugh out loud all through. :D
And this from someone who actually mildly enjoyed the movie... don't ask me why, I can't remember: I was still a drama baby at the time. ;)

As for Cha Seung Won, you're beating a dead horse with me here: I can't stand him. I can't even bother to find out if he's a good actor: I simply can't stand his face and his voice. It's a ... skin factor. :P

Sorry, I jumped into the reply without even say hi! LOL
I'm glad to hear you are not haunted by deadlines and enjoyed the conference. :D I've been very lazy this week... basically I did nothing, LOL
Conrad! Obviously we had to read Heart of Darkness, and although I thought his prose was complex and beautiful per se, the images and the setting were... disquieting and not in the good way of a scary novel for me. I was... disturbed. I'm also not a lover of the sea setting: I never liked Hemingway, nor have I ever appreciated Melville. I know heart of darkness is not about the sea at all, but the whole travelling on the river was, as I said, disturbing to me.
We also read some short stories by him, the Idiots and The lagoon, and they all gave me the same sense of claustrophobia.
So, not my thing, really. ;)

I too thought they should have ended at 14. This said, I do believe a tragic ending would have been worse. Not for me, because at that point I didn't really care, but for the general feel of the drama. Can you imagine you start watching "Friends" and at the end of the season they kill of all the characters and morph the thing into an epic tragedy? This drama was light and had good kisses, that's the extent of it, in my view. I'm only disappointed by ending of shows I consider wonderful, and this wasn't.
;)

Hello my friend, I know you're busy, so I won't expect a reply any time soon. I actually imagine your wall will be full of messages when you come back and I don't envy you for the sorting out, LOL.
Is Conrad giving you a headache? I admit he certainly gave it to me when I was compelled to read him at uni. Obvioulsy not because of the quality of his writing - a terrific author by all means - but not exactly my cup of tea. ;)
Is everything fine with you? I miss our long conversations on the beauty of dramas, LOL.
By the by, I finally completed QIHM (it took me 6 days for 5 episodes) and I suppose we wholeheartedly agree on this one too. A review would have been redundant since Omnichelle wrote a perfect one, imo, but I commented on the thread... and I fear I'll be chased with axes and pitchforks very soon... :P
Have a nice weekend! :D

I just had the very unhealthy idea to go post a commentary in the Queen Inhyun's Man's thread.
I have a feeling I won't come out of it unharmed. :P

ROFL
I've seen that meshup before and laughed so hard!! Are you really asking me to choose? Let's leave Ha Ji Won with this terrible dilemma, while I fantazise about both. LOL
Going back to my 2 favourite dramas: the treadmill scene IS romantic, you're not insane at all. Danger is a perfect background for budding love, because it heightens emotions. I'm all for dramas which create this sort of sensual tension.
But if you thought I was not going to ask you "why did you text it to your friend?", you were mistaken. Why? ;)
LOL

Uh, sorry, I missed the second part of your message.
I think I will skip that drama because the friend of the cousin of the grandmom of the sister of Lee Min Ho is not in it. :P

Of course you're right, it's not helpful at all. But I thought we could create a trend and start writing the genealogical tree of every actor we like.
I loved Don Quixote because Matsuda Shota is the nephew of Kumagai Mami (everybody knows who she is, OBVIOUSLY).
What do you think?
;)
In Italian we have an expressions that goes like "you're breaking down an open door". It's used when one vents, gushes, comments or apologizes to someone who was already convinced from the beginning.
All this premise to say I agree with you about the feelings conveyed by those scenes: I too could go on forever.
Although I can safely say that drama captured me from minute 1, I truly fell in love when they ran on the treadmills. There is something about that scene, with her soothing words in voiceover and his complying which made me hold my breath and... well, fall in love.
It's like that scene in Secret Garden, when Joo Won sits on his beautiful wooden patio by the pond and sees her by his side, or when he walks up and down and the titles of the books appear in sequence, like a poetry.
How can those details not make a masterpiece drama?

P.S.2
Oh, you have no idea how many times I've watched the scene in which he hears her voice and starts running. And since the first time I watched it for a moment I truly thought she had died, I believe my heart literally stopped.
That was so... romantic, for lack of a better word.
Ahhhhhhhhh...
Let's "hide" this in spoiler. Who knows what lover of QIHM could pass by and decide to compare...:P

No problem. In fact, this spoiler thingy must be the most useless feature ever, since everyone can go open it and read. LOL
And if MDLers are like any other human, curiosity makes messages in spoiler all the more interesting and alluring...

Can I gush with you about Lee Seung Gi?
Not only I was impressed by his performance and in awe at how he made me feel every little emotion he portrayed, but he's so damn hot in that drama I was virtually unfaithful to my man. :P:P
Ok, let me stop here, this is not healthy for my hormones. LOL
P.S. I went reading some of the comments about Queen Inhyun's Man and... well, unfortunately one can only give 1 like per person, otherwise you would be submerged with them right now. LOL

I will reply to you very soon: I just need an entire afternoon of sweet laziness to do so. You know I can't just write two lines, LOL.
By the by, I have seen Code Blue and loved it. Both seasons. In fact, I was wishing for a third that never came, alas.
I believe it would be a good time for me to eat something... lol, it's almost 10 pm and I completely forgot dinner. :P
Thanks for the lovely chat, my friend. Have a wonderful evening and please come by more often. I'm usually lurking here while doing other things. ;)
Big, big hugs. :D
