I have tried to watch the show as it is instead of thinking of JOF. After I let go of my expectations of ml as…
I totally agree with you that JT is suitable for this role. He has these dark, sultry eyes. Especially after seeing his role in another drama as a political schemer, I see a lot of potential in him to act as a character with shades of gray. He definitely does not look like an innocent immortal, he has the looks of a secretly dark person and I love how it fits LYF's characterization.
He's already borderline losing his cool from what I'm seeing. Especially when anything relates to the thought…
Yeah he's becoming more and more obsessed for sure. It's implied that he's been keeping tabs on the FL. He appears whenever she's in trouble (during the sword match, or when she was almost punished by Yunzhong for going into the temple), and when she asked him "how do you know I injured my leg?" He said "I know everything about you". That's spooky, though understandable.
I think, since nobody knows her identity this time, he's been giving her more freedom than in her past life by letting her run around the immortal campus, make friends, and even go down the mountain to carry out missions with other disciples. But all of that still needs to be carried out under his secret surveillance. He's making sure nothing goes wrong like last time.
Okay, I'm contemplating on dropping this despite already subbed to wetv lmao. The plot is not bad, the actors…
I think their falling in love is understandable. ML is an anti-social and lonely person, he's never been in a close relationship with people before. So when he finally gets a disciple, he grows overly attached to her and has problems setting healthy boundaries. He is also rebellious in nature and sees the FL in a similar light. As for the FL, she is often treated with hostility by others because of her dark aura, but ML always protects her and gives her a lot of warmth and security. She is secluded in the mountains and seldom gets to socialize with others. Her entire world revolves around her shifu, who is handsome and caring. It makes total sense for her to fall for him.
This new poster has the vibes: https://kisskh.at/photos/pdd2LD_3 Psycho master and his little pet. It doesn't help that her hair looks like two bunny ears.
This is straight up getting gothic up in here. Jeremy's YinFan has turned into the obsessive, romantic, gothic…
Luo Yin Fan be giving me Phantom Of The Opera vibes. Luring the innocent Christine, seducing her while disguising it as teaching. You don't get to see this kind of ML in an Asian drama often.
"I'm waiting to see Chong Zi's slide into darkness so they can balance one another out." 100%. Only crazy can deal with crazy. He needs someone on his level to put him back in his place.
Someone did an analysis for the costume designs. I found it to be quite interesting.
Wan Jie's costume is mainly black but has white at the bottom. This symbolizes that he is actually a good person despite being a demon. https://imgur.com/Z461ARp
The spy's robe, on the other hand, is an opposite of that. It's mainly white but there's black at the bottom. This shows that he is only pretending to be good, but is actually a bad guy. https://imgur.com/5xtL78F
For Luo Yin Fan, originally he only wears pure white costumes, but after knowing about FL's feelings, he starts wearing a costume that has a hint of purple at the bottom: https://imgur.com/LA0cVSx
I am so happy that Yin Fan is showing her more early on since he now understands she needs more than safe keeping.…
I saw some behind the scenes clips and I think a handful of scenes got cut from the final release. They're definitely rushing with the storytelling, as you can see each episode starts with no connection with the previous episode.
I also think some of their intimate moments during her first life did not make the cut because master-disciple romance did not pass censorship rules. They even censored the first kissing scene, the one where he gives her chi after she was injured. The "almost kiss" on the bridge when CZ gifted LYF the jade necklace was not there either. And I think Jeremy mentioned in a live that LYF confessed his feelings to CZ while holding her corpse. That did not end up happening. It seems like censorship rules has caused them to have to delay their romance.
In the novel after the orb’s destruction Min Yun Zhong sentences Chong Zi to execution by lightning for disrupting…
I get what you mean by that. I don't want them to excuse his actions too much either. I think dramas tend to shape the MLs positively and the FLs negatively. There is a general bias for MLs. I hope they write it in a way that makes sense for the FL to hate him and become a demon. Or else they will ruin the story.

Yeah, the reason I prefer the drama ML is because I want to support the main CP and be able to enjoy their happy ending without feeling like it's wrong. It's really hard to ship the pair in the novel version, given all the cruel things he did to her. And he even said he didn't regret doing those things. It's just too awful to be adapted and nobody would want to watch the drama if the ML was like that. People already hate JOF's Bai Zi Hua and novel LYF is worse.

My mind is going to the wrong places. Send help😂

And then by the third arc, the purple takes up an even larger area:

It shows that Chong Zi has a growing position in his heart.
(Purple = Chong Zi because "Zi" means purple.)
LYF to Yunzhong: "I don't want to answer your question." Total badass moment there.

Wow... that was very sensual. Is it PG? Lol
