Something I REALLY think needs to be clarified about the hellfire issue:
Neither does XLH or DFQC know that restoring his heart tree will result in him losing his hellfire. This is something that many people here may have missed. Only the audience knows he will lose his hellfire due to what XLH did. We saw it from the trailers, so we went in with this idea in mind. Imagine if we didn’t learn about the spoilers and watched ep. 17-18 with the same lens as the characters. Nothing in ep. 17-18 implied that he would lose his hellfire. Here’s proof:
DFQC said that he needed his emotions removed to LEARN hellfire, but he did not say he needed his emotions to always be gone to maintain his hellfire. In fact, he doesn’t even know that. When XLH talked about restoring his heart tree, DFQC only responded with something like this, “if the heart tree has grown back, then it means all of what I have suffered before will be a waste and my father would have died for no reason.” And on top of that, he did not believe there was a possibility of his father actually having loved him. This was why he did not want to restore the tree. If he knew restoring the tree would cause him to lose his hellfire and not be able to protect his tribe, then his retaliation towards XLH would have been way stronger and he would explicitly tell XLH this, given how serious it is.
Secondly, when XLH froze herself in the cold to test her true form, DFQC also felt cold. SQ explained that it doesn’t make sense because his hellfire should prevent him from feeling cold, and DFQC had a puzzled look on his face. By logical deduction, this means he does not know his hellfire is gradually disappearing, which also means he does not know restoring his emotions would cause this.
Since both leads do not know this, it’s unfair to say that XLH is putting Moon Tribe at risk for her own agenda. If she knew this would happen, she probably would have acted differently. We’re only judging her based on our god-like perspective as an audience, because we know more than they do.
"She always tries to make him take Shuiyuntian side too."Except she didn't. It was ML who asked her if she could…
I think we can agree to disagree, so I’ll just reply one last time.

"She always tries to make him take Shuiyuntian side too."Except she didn't. It was ML who asked her if she could…
Her curing the tree was from a place of healing the ML's childhood trauma, which ML was ultimately glad she did. ML cared strongly about his father, he always thought his father didn't love him, and it left him heartbroken. FL helped unravel the truth and allowed ML to experience proper family love which was what he wanted. If not for her being nosy, he would forever have been broken from what his father did without knowing the truth. People have traumas and often times they don't want to deal with them, because they don't want to go through the pain of doing so, even if it's for their good. Anyone who attempts to help these people will be seen as intrusive and disrespectful, but it's also only such people who have a chance at getting to the root of the problem. Reminds me of Beauty and the Beast and Belle (a Japanese anime where the FL does almost the exact same thing as XLH and ultimately saves a boy from domestic abuse).
I meant usually before immortals descend to the human realm, something dramatic happens. For example one of the leads dies and goes through tribulation. Or someone jumps down a terrace due to heartbreak and forgets their past life. Things like that. In this drama, the leads have their memories and identities intact, and it's like they're just casually taking a stroll in the mortal realm.
FL plays the so-worried-about-the-people character but she keeps trying to make Qingcang given up his people and…
"She always tries to make him take Shuiyuntian side too."
Except she didn't. It was ML who asked her if she could give up Shuiyuntian to be with him, and she asked him back, "can you give up your revenge plan?" It was a rhetorical question, meaning "if you can't, then I can't either". She understands that they have opposite motivations and it's not about who is right or wrong. They are each protecting their own family. This is why she knows they cannot be together. Her morals are not pseudo morals, she has been consistent throughout. She belongs to the heavenly realm, she grew up there, the people she cares about are there, so she will continue to protect them. Falling in love with the ML does not make this change.
And in all honesty, how many people IRL would be all objective about a battle between two realms? They would most likely pick sides, and support the side they have a sense of belonging towards. It's a natural thing. XLH did not force the ML to give up his goals. She gave him agency to his own values, whilst following him to the mortal realm to stop him, due to agency to her own values. This is evidential when she asked him if he was hiding something and he said no, but she didn't force him to tell the truth. She gave him several chances to tell her the truth, but when he insisted on lying, she accepted it and moved on to do what she had to do as a fairy.
I think Dan Yin and Chang Heng make a great pair. Dan Yin could have become an annoying evil second FL, but she…
Omg don't get me started on that lamp girl. The character design was so bad - she literally had "I'm a bad guy" carved on her face and she keeps getting away with everything. She easily broke the trust between two supposedly loving siblings. Logic was thrown out the window. I'm enjoying LBFAD waaaay better.

This is indeed one of the best things about this drama. I think the production crew really knows what is outdated and what the audience hates, so they are avoiding all those tropes. Evil scheming 2FLs and 2MLs are sooo annoying tbh. There was this one evil girl at the beginning who liked CH, which I thought was going to become a pain in the ass, but I was really shocked when it quickly got resolved and she was taken away and punished. This drama never stops giving me surprises.
I feel so bad for DFQC; finally got his feelings back and now everybody wants to have these nuanced feelings.…
It's a relatively easy spin. Cuz the story laid a lot of groundwork implying the heavenly realm are hypocritical and have probably done many bad things in the past but covered them up in the name of justice. Meanwhile, Moon Tribe was shown to have good people too and it was mentioned many times that they were being unreasonably oppressed by the heavenly realm. There's a good chance that current heavenly emperor is actually evil and all the leads can team up to expose him and eventually bring peace to the three realms.
Historically it is inappropriate for a man and a woman to be in a room tgt without anyone else around, unless…
Yes, if anyone saw just the two of them staying tgt in Arbiter Hall, they would have easily assumed that the fairy was having a secret love affair with a demon, and not just being a spy.
Omg, I'm slightly worried about what the drama is implying in Epi 19 when XLH's face morphed into Chidi nu/Xie…
But in the next scene we see XLH remembering herself as a little girl with her parents and meeting Chi Di Nu Zi, so at least we know they are separate people.
If u guys notice the fans that the brides r holding r different. Play spot the difference with the fans and u…
I have a feeling the marriage won't work out as expected. In the MVs, we see both ML and FL in wedding clothing and getting married to different people respectively, but we also see ML and FL sitting in a room tgt and FL drugging ML with the poison Rong Hao gave her. They are still wearing their wedding clothes. Then in the next scene, they are outside by a bonfire and FL feeds ML her blood. That's where ML grabs FL and kisses her. After that, the heavenly realm soldiers arrive and try to attack ML, but FL unleashes green smoke (might be her Xilan powers?) for the first time to defend the ML.
Ok so this is a spoiler regarding the marriage in the Mortal realm

I am on the episode that has Jieli ask Orchid 3 questions and I was wondering what the question that looked something…
Historically it is inappropriate for a man and a woman to be in a room tgt without anyone else around, unless they are married. They don't have to be doing anything, just the fact alone is subject to other people's judgment, especially for the female, people will assume she lost her chastity. So if two people do stay in a room tgt, it implies their relationship is not simple.
Can we fully appreciate Orchid’s determination to fight for her people and her bravery and heartbreaking honesty…
XLH is one of the strongest FLs I've ever seen. She is traditionally feminine, cute, physically weak, but she is mentally incorruptible, brave, and also smart in deducing what's going on behind the scenes. She has shown a high level of willpower, emotional intelligence and intuition throughout.
To clear things up about Orchid’s attitude because apparently she is being slapped in the face for no good reasons:1.…
YES FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT. I never understood why people say the FL is stupid. She's actually a clever person and she observed and found out many things on her own. She also knows when and when not to confront. If someone is so determined to lie to you, then a better way to deal with it is to carefully find out what's going on and step in at the right time instead of exposing the lie and risk getting sent away like you said. XLH is using the right tactic to deal with things. The fact that she is cute and physically weak (at this moment) doesn't mean she is dumb or mentally weak. In fact she has demonstrated multiple times through the drama that she is the opposite.
I have been super impressed with the performance of 'Wang Yue Yi' playing the Dan Yin Fairy Maid character. Wow,…
I think Dan Yin and Chang Heng make a great pair. Dan Yin could have become an annoying evil second FL, but she didn't and that makes her very admirable. I wish Chang Heng would look back and finally notice her.
I'm guessing DFQC changed fate and caused XLH to get married to him instead of Xiao Run like what the sky mirror…
I'm also confused why Dan Yin didn't tell Chang Heng that he would get married to XLH in heavenly realm and only told him the mortal realm part. Maybe cuz she loves him and doesn't want him to know? I'm curious too.
