though Esther plays Mu Qing Shi, that was 900 years ago so I doubt dowager has seen her before.

Ding Yu Xi also plays the novelist character. Maybe he went into the book but forgot? Miao Miao is starting to forget things, while Zi Qi is gradually recovering his memories. Very intriguing

The story seems to follow a structure that peaks from time to time. Ep7-8, ep.15, then ep.18-20. They're reserving the dramatic stuff to the weekend it seems.

I'm actually betting on Mu Sheng becoming the next Heavenly Demon Catcher. It makes the most sense, as he has a powerful inner core. The previous Heavenly Demon Catcher was probably Miao Miao in her past life, as Esther Yu also plays Mu Qing Shi.

They probably changed the story, so he will get stuck at 99% for the remaining 12 episodes or decrease in percentage. Getting stuck is more likely tho. Maybe something happens and causes him to not trust Miao Miao's intentions at some point, and his demon power gets unleashed, but we'll see...

I think the entire romance between Mu Yao and Liu Da Ge is to poke fun at bad writing, because at the beginning of the drama Miao Miao criticized the author for not knowing how to write and build up proper romance, which is why the leads in the novel are so soulless. The story is meta and self-aware, especially during the "bad writing" moments we can hear Miao Miao complaining about lack of logic. She entered the novel after writing the bad review online, so her role is pretty much to fix things and make the story better.

I'm guessing the sword belonged to Miao Miao in her past life (Esther Yu stars Mu Qing Shi the previous Heavenly Demon Hunter). But maybe Mu Sheng is the next Heavenly Demon Hunter and will be able to pull out the sword.
