My thoughts exactly and now she's that rich girl maybe probably 🤔 I wish all episodes were out to binge watched.
Maybe she was the person who scammed all his money? Cuz his money disappeared and no one knows where it went, and it would've been too obvious if one of his friends stole it.
I hope the FL is not the reincarnation of the past lover because that would be cliche while not adding any value at all. I feel like it's just bait and they will do a plot twist and say they are not related at all (at least I hope), but we'll see.
Not sure she was the villain back in time but in modern time she is the villain for sure.
Yeah... I'm just suspicious because all this time we're only shown the ML's perspective of the past, which was all rainbows and butterflies, but a lot of the details about the past lover were not specified, so it makes me think there was another version of the story that will be revealed to us in the future. When a character is perceived as overly ideal in the eyes of another character, it's like a warning signal in drama logic 😂
Sorry but the love story is the most implausible part of this drama. The way ML is swooning over FL in nearly…
Well, every person's way of approaching love is different, so I can't say for sure that people will never swoon like that for someone. Plus he was never serious about his job to begin with. He's just doing the bare minimum and pretending like he's interested in working at the hotel, when in actuality he is there to investigate sth. That's why it's reasonable for him to be daydreaming in his office and not doing any actual work.
I believe he mentioned that he never fell in love in the past, so this is his first love and first loves tend to be huge for people. I know this is a k drama cliche but the common logic about this cliche is that it makes adults do weird things, and any person familiar with k dramaland should know this is a recurring theme that doesn't make sense in real life but does in the k dramaland 😅
I also find the SFL to be fishy. I remember back in ep.1 when the hunters were chasing after them, she said “it's my fault” or “it's all because of me” or sth like that. What if she purposefully led them to him? And what if she didn't actually die? Maybe she's also a vampire or a supernatural being of some sort that can come back from the dead, so she tells ML that they will meet again. Maybe she was the villain all along.
For some reason I don't find her screaming off-putting, because I watched a lot of older dramas and they had worse screaming FLs. I guess it's just a thing directors have FLs do all the time? I mean they all seem like professional actresses and have decent acting, so I suppose they were just instructed to act like that.
I usually don't like characters falling in love too quickly in dramas because it takes away proper build up and kinda suspends my disbelief sometimes, but this drama made me feel like it was believable and he really did just fall for her like that. He was acting very cute too, like an elementary school kid doing those online quizzes and not knowing what to do about his feelings haha
I'm enjoying this drama more than I expected! I couldn't finish WWWSK or Business Proposal and they seem like similar romcoms, so I think I wouldn't like this one either, but I was so wrong! I find King The Land to have a bit more depth, it actually tries to call out the absurdities and classism that a lot of K-dramas have never addressed. For starters, they never gloss over the characterization of the ML, he is less competent than other MLs, doesn't understand how the lower class works, and gradually gets his character development. That makes him a lot more relatable and realistic. The FL is sweet but also tough, professional and knows what she is doing. The cheesy scenes are so over-the-top that it's clear they're meant for the laughs. Love how they're putting a different twist in the cliches. There was definitely some extra thought put into this to make it "not just another cliche office romcom".
I still don't think the FL is unreasonable. I think the role is suffering from over-acting for sure, because there's too much screaming and exaggerated facial expressions. But apart from that, her character has been living in poverty, she got scammed, was in financial trouble (before inheriting the house), and she almost had to sleep on the streets. Furthermore, she does have legal rights to the house. If they took it to court, she is considered the rightful owner. The ML, on the other hand, has no evidence of his claims. He doesn't even have the deed of the property. If she let him stay with the condition of having him pay rent, it's still a reasonable treatment in real life. FL's character resembles your average person, not like Mary Sue in other dramas who have too much empathy that it becomes fake. Irl, you'll see that many people will protect themselves and think about themselves first, when they are not in a good place of life. Especially when she is legally entitled. Whatever her ancestors promised the ML, she was not informed, so taking away her inheritance for that reason would be unfair for her as an innocent third party. That's why written contracts and documentation is important, to protect all parties involved.
"In-hae, who lacks human-like qualities" Why do they keep emphasizing that the FL is cold? They also said she lacks compassion in the synopsis. But from what I'm seeing, she's just a normal human being who is not particularly cold or heartless. She's just having a bad time in life and is financially not in a good place. She shows some degree of empathy too. I guess having a FL that's a normal person and not your typical Mary Sue makes her non-human😅
I wonder why the synopsis says the FL has no compassion and is cold-hearted. She's just the more rational type, but actually has some empathy inside (like how she helped the student). And in other circumstances like asking the ML to leave, that's how any normal person would react in a situation if they saw a random stranger in their house. Anyhow I don't see why her character description is like that.
NGL I've been waiting for a genuine vampire k-drama for 20 years since I've been introduced to k-dramas. They somehow don't make vampire dramas often and when they do, it's not very well done. This one actually seems promising. I like how they're taking a more comedic approach while still hinting at a serious undertone with all that suspenseful history that will be gradually unraveled. Looking forward to the leads' romance and how ML's backstory is going to affect them. The pilot episodes are doing great so far.
This drama is stupid and infuriating. This ending is sooo bad, I'm pissed off that I finished this whole series,…
The ending was completely different from the novel. The novel made a lot more sense than the drama. If you're curious what actually happened in the novel, I wrote a summary in the discussion board.
Oh, I see thanks. It's just a little odd that Yu Rim couldn't guess that it was her all along with all those hints - fencing, transferring schools, getting mad at a classmate/rival... unless Hee Do never gave her any details.
