The novel is really long but they had to condense everything into 40eps. The pacing is faster than a typical cdrama…
Okay no wonder... thanks for your explanation :)
On Till the End of the Moon Apr 9, 2023
I just started this a few days ago and the pacing is REALLY fast. Maybe even a little too fast cuz the scenes aren't transitioning very smoothly. Is it because some parts were cut out due to censorship or the drama was shortened in some way?

That said, I love the characterization of the ML. He's totally evil and hot, and I hope he doesn't get whitewashed too much by censorship. I heard the og novel was pretty dark and questionable.

I'm on ep.3 and I have a question: How does Go Yu Rim not know the FL is her Internet friend? Didn't FL tell her she transferred to the new high school?

Most kiss scenes in your average Korean drama look fake, lol.
At least some of those dead fish kisses I've seen have the lips actually touching lol
And we are getting an increasing number of steamy real kisses in recent years.

I guess the leads in Blue Birthday couldn't do real kisses because they were kpop idols or sth
On Blue Birthday Mar 28, 2023
I'm pretty sure the kiss scenes were fake. Their lips weren't really touching and they just filmed it in an angle that looked like they touched.

Hi Amy! I'm enjoying this too. They are an even match and it has been a pleasant watch so far!
Hiiii :)
Yes they're a great couple! It takes a bit long for them to get together, but their interactions are fun enough since the beginning so I don't really mind

I'm glad you caught up! They're so perfectly matched. πŸ₯°
For sure!! I don't recall having seen this kind of bickering couple before. It's interesting to watch.

Yeah u finally joined us Amy. Hi! This is so much better than The Journey of Chong Zi! But hate waiting so many…
Yes it's a pretty long wait. But I like how it's a shorter drama, they're easier to finish and have tighter plots XD

Really enjoying the couple dynamics here. It's my first time watching Meng Ziyi in a drama and she's very attractive. She plays the role quite naturally and her cuteness is not annoying. In real life, she's more of a diligent type, but now I know she excels in these less serious roles too.

I hope they still air the movie. It was the combined effort of many people - director, writers, crew, other actors, etc. It deserves to be seen.
Actually, taking drugs is pretty common for celebrities (believe it or not). A lot of celebrities are constantly stressed out, depressed, and some cope by drugs (I am not saying taking drugs is okay, please say no to drugs). It's just that given how common it is in their world, whoever gets caught is just "unlucky" and not exceptionally awful, in particular.

MDL rating system is seriously bugged. How is the score 8.2 when the breakdown is like this:
Currently Watching - 8.87
Completed - 9.05
Dropped - 5.27
Verified/Stars Rating - 8.9

I want to watch Blue Birthday but I don't know which version I should watch, the Korean one or this. For those who have watched both, which one do you think is better?

The romance here is slightly slow burn which matches the story since its a mystery solving drama. Don't worry…
That's great. Thanks!

A question for chinese speakers:)Does anyone know which one is correct?δΈ‹εˆζˆ‘θ¦εŽ»ε•†εΊ—δΈ‹εˆζˆ‘ζƒ³εŽ»ε•†εΊ—
要 in this context means "need to", while 想 here means "want to".

Hi, peeps! I had a long shift so just got back home. Thanks for all the comments and explanations. Now I get it…
The term "idol drama" first appeared in the 2000s, originating from Taiwan. Back in the day, idol dramas were most popular amongst young girls between ages 12 to 20s. The term later spread to China after they also started producing idol dramas. Of course, the age range of modern day viewers are a lot wider, thanks to internationalization and also the fact that those young girls who grew up watching idol dramas are now in their 30s, and they still love the genre.

Idols just simply means people that entertaining by simply have a good look and perform on the stage. Actually…
I don't know much about how people interpret "idol drama" in kdramaland, but the original term "idol drama" actually originated from Taiwan in the mid-late 2000s. Back then, Taiwanese dramas were quite popular in Asia, before Korean or Chinese dramas developed into what they are now. At the time, people came up with the term "idol drama" to describe these Taiwanese dramas played by young, famous stars. When I was in my teens, my classmates would talk about idol dramas all day. "Have you watched this idol drama? It's good!" Idol dramas were regarded very positively. The term spread to China later on once they also started producing these dramas, and they created different variations like "historical idol drama", "fantasy idol drama", "modern idol drama" to specify the genre.
