it's been a few months since I finished this drama. I must have rewatched this drama and my favorite scenes and…
I used to think TMOPB and Ashes of Love were the best xianxia dramas until Love and Destiny came along. I finished watching it not long ago and I'm in severe withdrawal. I can't believe that drama isn't getting more recognition because it's even better than TMOPB imo. You gotta watch it if you're in for a beautiful love story in the xianxia fantasy genre.
This was the first fantasy drama I'd watched and I loved it so much. At first I was a it put off by the CGI, but…
If you want to watch a fantasy drama like Eternal Love, I strongly recommend Love and Destiny. It's a spinoff with a different story, the love story is beautiful like Eternal Love, and the acting, characters, humour, and melodrama are all spot on. If you loved Eternal Love and Ashes of Love (those are my favorite dramas too), you can't miss Love and Destiny.
It's so funny I go to a drama that I truly enjoying and there are a lot of negative comments. I come here to a…
To be fair, L&D was heavily criticized before and when it first came out. It got 5.0+ marks on Douban China at first because people didn't like how it was marketed to be the second TMOPB and that Chang Chen was the ML (they thought he was too old) so they didn't trust that it would be good. It ended up exceeding people's expectations and rose up to 8.0+ gradually. So this isn't your average "overrated" drama, rather it's the complete opposite. This is a slowburn drama that received a lot of hate and was grossly underrated, but proved people wrong through time. That's why I hope you can give it some more time as it gets better and better.
Why is it taking so long to sub the episodes, like I've been waiting a few months for them to finish the rest…
As far as I know there's only one person doing the subs on Facebook page PCCD, and Kissasian has been stealing the subs from them for a while. Meanwhile, I heard Viki has the subbed episodes (I don't have Viki though so I'm not sure). I can understand Chinese so I watched it on Youtube channel Croton Mega Hit, that channel has half subbed episodes.
There are good plot twists and there are bad ones. A good plot twist is one that follows a set of rules or principles in the world view while being unpredictable at the same time. A good plot twist makes you think "OHHH! Why didn't I think about this before? It all makes sense now" because it happens within the capacity of the story and follows the internal logic of the story. A good example is the plot twists in Nine Time Travels (same writer as W) which is why Nine is my favorite drama of all time. W, on the other hand, is controversial for a good reason. People find W to be "a mess", and "makes no sense" because every plot twist creates new rules rather than follows already defined rules, causing the plot twists to lose their value.
Hey guys. Just watching episode 23 where LX gave away her hearing. Someone please tell me that the fire thing…
Don't worry. She won't remain deaf. I won't go into the details but her hearing impairment is only temporary, specifically during her time in the mortal realm.
Worst movie I've ever watched. The plot was all over the place. Each scene abruptly jumps to another without any coherence or transition. Many plot points are unexplained and you'll only know what's going on if you watched the drama. It's like reenacting the most important parts of the drama, then sloppily pasting them all together without adding any connection. They tried to cram 58 episodes worth of story into a 2- hour movie. I wish they'd just simplify the story even more so that it makes sense even as a standalone movie. There was really no need to throw every single arc in there without any time to develop them properly. People who have watched the drama would definitely prefer the drama a lot more, while people who haven't watched the drama would have a really hard time following the movie. This kinda makes the movie pointless, cuz it fails to appeal to both types of audience. It's more like a recap/summary or an advertisement to get people to watch the drama version.
I'm officially addicted to this. Been waiting for an epic love story after TMOPB and Ashes of Love, and this is EXACTLY what I'm looking for <3 It's like a mashup of TMOPB and AOL but it's even more awesome and the plot devices are very well utilized despite being common. Really recommend this to people who like Xianxias.
Dayuuuum this is even better than Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms!! Loving all the OTP moments! Chang Chen's acting is no joke, he doesn't have a lot of dialogue but his eyes speak a thousand words. I'm speechless, really!
This is such a cute drama, but the leads are a tad bit too perfect to be true. ML and FL are good-looking, smart, kind and have the best personalities. As an ordinary person, I can't relate to this at all, nor can I imagine myself ever getting a BF as perfect as Xiao Nai. This is so surreal it kinda makes me sad... ahaha
Jinmi's character development was out of this world. She turned from a naive, playful girl to one who saves the world. My other fav is Night Immortal because he is such a 3-dimensional character. I don't complain that he got that much screentime and even his own character arc in the latter half of the story, because he and his acting deserved it. The other two leads were there for the romance, but he was there for the depth.
Another thing is that before he became an actor, he was known for being an active EXO fan in China and he liked to post selfies mimicking k-pop artists. He was also known for boasting about being famous, claiming he was an SM trainee that was scouted on the street and that he filmed sth with Luhan. He posted signatures of Luhan and another artist which were later proven to be fake. SM also made a public announcement clarifying that he was never a trainee and he joined the audition but didn't get selected. After he became an actor though, he denied being a fan or doing any of those things, even though evidence was all over the Internet and EXO fans recognized him.
