I'm not sure if I'm the only person feeling this way, but this drama frustrates me. I feel like there are a lot of puzzles to unravel, but the writer did not make me curious about the puzzles in the first place. He/she is just throwing them at me right from the start, and I'm like I can try but I don't want to.

AFAIK, the ML's necklace was hidden under his sweater before she discovered that he's a medium. So this "plot hole" is uhh moot. Tbh if you consider SYHH to have enough plot holes to make you skip, then 90% of K-dramas are sieves...
The show is brilliant. Jang Nara is amazing. Jung Yong-hwa is a pleasant surprise. The two Kangs are awesome. Even the guest stars are good. The pace is so on point that I have not clicked on the fast forward button at all. Words can't describe how I feel about the drama after episode 10. This is one series I'm gonna keep in my hard disk forever.
Also, if KBS ratings continue to limp then they have to award the Daesang to Jang Nara for this SYHH performance after the Go Back Couple travesty. They need to stop giving their biggest award to weekend makjangs with zero artistic value.

I think MDL viewers are incredibly patient. This drama has horrible pacing and editing. NiF was also damn freaking slow at the beginning, but it had climaxes and all. Tribes is just... slow and dull.
The show is way too slow. I appreciate them wanting to deliver an epic drama on the scale of GoT, but dumping all the money into CG for a story with a thin plot is not the way to go. They can't recover their investment and had to lengthen the series for more money. And they're not even filming the entire book. In the end, we end up with a drama with crap editing, crap pacing and a crap story. Obviously the drama is beautiful to look at but I might as well watch a documentary.
Huang Xiao Ming is awesome as Xiao Ping Zhang. Not that I expected anything less, he can be a very good actor when he's acting in good productions. He and Tong Li Ya have great chemistry as well. I can watch them two all day long!
On the other hand, Liu Hao Ran is a little lacking. I think he doesn't have the gravitas to carry such a drama. I'm not sure if it's because of his acting, or just the fact that the actual character is just a little too young. Obviously he's going to transform as the story progresses, but even so I think he doesn't have the disposition necessary for his role.
Zhou Yi Wei is Lin Mochen! I must applaud the casting director. ZYW's freaking charismatic. I'd argue that he suits the role a lot better than Jin Dong lol.

It's not beating the shows above in terms of viewership ratings, it's beating them in terms of the level of discussion. Which is impressive anyway, considering that JNR and SHJ are both coming off relatively poor projects and they aren't exactly the trendiest stars at the moment.

I know, but people are so quick to blame KBS for "cutting" dramas. Even Best Hit which aired in the same timeslot with lower ratings wasn't cut, not to mention that GBC is topping drama rankings over the likes of WYWS, Temperature of Love, Because It is My First Life and My Golden Life. It's literally the buzziest drama airing right now. It's just not receiving as much attention from international viewers. Yeah, they did cut Beautiful Mind but its ratings were miserable and it wasn't even generating hype. GBC is a totally different situation.

No, the drama was slated for 12 episodes in the first place. The ratings are comparable to SDM so it's not getting cut for that. MDL just didn't have the right episode count in the first place. On Korean sites it was always listed as 12 episodes. The company also released a statement denying that there will be an "extension". It didn't release a statement saying that it's going to be cut. Also, WYWS is not even in the same timeslot, so it's not worth bringing into the picture. Not to mention it's getting middling ratings as well.

Did you watch the epilogues for episodes 5 and 6? They really did loved each other back then. And they were really cute together. His character may be really immature right now, but I think he'll come to realise that he still loves her and he still cares for her... soon. Tbh, I think the snarky remarks they've been hurling at each other are husband and wife things, except that they are taking them to heart and getting slightly overboard.

I think it's perplexing that they didn't fix this issue. I'm sure it's easy enough to disable the rating button since they have the airing date in their database. They can even make it so you can't rate the drama till it is finished. It's really, really, really simple to implement (CS major).
