In an interview ZLS talked about how her character Xu Yan thought thought Shen Haoming was able to give her the love she lacked in childhood, she thought he was her rock and was determined to marry him no matter what because of that. Only to find out while she thought she was the praying mantis, Shen Haoming was the oriole behind her the whole time, she was just his pawn.
It's evident that FL's love is real, even if the methods she used to attain it aren't truthful. Where as, right now it seems ML is just using her for his own goals, maybe he does love her deep down but hasn't realized it yet, or maybe the whole time he's just been acting. I also think it's important for FL's development for her to realize she can flourish on her own, she can be her own rock, doesn't need anyone else. Only then can she enter into a healthy relationship whether with ML or anyone else.
ML I also believe has trauma from the past. I feel like we have only seen FL's perspective so while she uses manipulation, we sympathize with her because we understand her past and pain, and she's is just trying to seek out the love she never got from her parents. But for ML we haven't seen that yet, so can only judge him based on his actions. I hope we get more insight into his own past, I'm sure he also has been through a lot. I don't want to judge him without knowing his past and reasoning.
Can't wait for all the secrets to be out, but it's going to be so brutal at the same time.

I feel like the break up will be more her wanting to break up, not his choice. I think I read somewhere its a mix of her ex coming back causing trouble, Fang Lie causing trouble, finding out ML's known the whole time and been playing with her, possibly some of ML's secrets like his kid, and her just wanting to stop living a lie, be true to herself, take off her mask, so she decides to start fresh. So I think a mix of things, and she just reaches a breaking point, where it's too much and she realizes all the lies have caught up with her and ML is not the person she thought he was. Thats what I think, and really looking forward to her being true to herself without a mask and ML chasing her properly once he realizes his true feelings.

I love twelve letters, favorite drama of the year for me. But you're right a lot of emotional trauma but also some very cute and sweet moments and does have a happy ending. Mobius also very good, I wrote a review on it if you're still deciding but its a bit long 😂both good choices

On day 2 (September 27th) yunhe reported 40.12 million daily views for that day, coming in second. This is a really impressive result for day 2. The heat index reached 28k that day. Yesterday when the heat reached 29K I expect somewhere in the mid to high 40 millions for views, another increase. Drama's usually take way longer to get to 40 million (with many not even reaching), so this is very impressive for day 2.
Just for information, for a show to get 30k heat usually needs around 50-55 millions daily views on yunhe. I think it will definitely get there, just a matter of when.
But again, these results for day 2 are very impressive, breaking 40 million views on day 2 is huge, and I expect yesterday's viewership (day 3), to be even higher, inching closer to that 50 million mark and 30k heat.

The book is completely different, it's 6 chapters/pages super short, completely different story to the drama. As for why they separate, saw it's a mixture of ML knowing the truth the whole time and keeping it a secret, her ex bf returning and applying pressure, 2fl chasing after ML and FL just wanting to live a life without a mask, stop living a fake life. So she chooses to break up and Strat fresh. As for the rest like how long and why ML chose her at the beginning, have to wait and see.
