The babies father is Lin Tao same from the drama. But in the novel they were never married. They were dating, when she got pregnant, he abounded her, wanting nothing to do with the baby. Never really explained fully but pretty much it was all too much for her. No husband/bf/father for the baby, no job it was just too much for her and she committed suicide, very sad.

Never really mentioned if he married her. It's very open ended in the novel. All that happened was ML telling FL he had been cheating on her with Fang Lie, then FL leaves saying let me know when you have made up your mind what to do, then ML leaves her a txt msg, saying sorry let's break up and thats it. Never know what happens after.

Just from previews so not 100%, but looks like, ML sets up a date to celebrate FL's birthday together, but ML ends up with Fang Lie at her apartment or something and she flirts with him, saying they are meant to be together, why did he not wait for her, stuff like that. All the while, FL is calling ML with no answer. Again it's just a preview, so maybe theres another reason he is not answering her calls, but yeh Fang Lie flirting and trying to get ML to be with her.

No thats right, in the novel, there was no Fang Lie sister death. Again it's very different to the drama, in the novel Xu Yan's sister commits suicide, leaving her baby for FL to raise. If you want, you can read the novel, its very short probably only take 15-20 minutes. I read it after realizing how short it was, had no idea at first.

It seems like it's a build up, FL's ex comes back, we see him in previews. And Fang lie constantly around ML and also ML has known about FL's true background for a while but kept it secret. A combination of these and FL just wanting to not live a lie anymore, wanting freedom with no secrets, causes her to leave him and start fresh. Thats what I think from spoilers, possibly him having a child will play into it but not sure.

They likely won't the novel is only 6 chapters/6 pages super short, but I get what you mean it's very possible. In the novel, FL's sister commits suicide after she had a baby and leaves the baby for FL to take care of. ML is having an affair with Fang lie and leaves FL. Novel ends with FL single and raising her sisters baby. In the novel, Fang Lie was his ex, he didn't have a son or anything like that.

She gets really annoying in ep 6, and I watched the preview for ep 12 and looks like she gets even more annoying. She doesn't succeed in ep 6, ML tells her to leave him alone, but the preview for ep 12 not looking good.
I really hope grandma survives and gets to see FL properly happy and FL can take care of her for ages. I really hope they don't go the route of using her death for an emotional moment or epiphany, please let grandma stay alive.
Yeh for sure, but we gotta remember after everything that happened this wasn't expected to be a big drama when it was released. Was air dropped at a 10am time slot with no promo, so when they released it wasn't expected to be a big drama. But I agree, won't show ML cheating, especially when he's meant to pursue her and theres many spoilers of them getting back together. They would only go the cheating route if the drama decided for FL to completely cut of ML and move on and have her own HE but not with ML, but obviously not going that route.

He is dubbed by someone else I think, he is from Hong Kong and has a heavy cantonese accent, so a lot of his roles are dubbed by someone else I believe

Not a double role, the name is due to her parents pretty much abounding her when she was young for her grandma to raise, so she changed her surname to match her grandma's. She does kind of play a dual role in the sense she is keeping a lot of secrets from the ML her husband, pretending to be someone she isn't. Creating a fake background, even hiring fake parents. But technically, not a double role.
God damn the preview for ep 12 is brutal, Fang lie so annoying, she gotta be put in her place by FL. I hope we don't see the ML and Fang lie relationship follow the book or I can't imagine a happy ending. I highly doubt it'll follow the book though, been so different so far and idk how we get there but I definitely think we will get a HE.

Definitely agree, for me the pace is good and intriguing with all the secrets, I hope it keeps it up when everything has been revealed. Looking forward to when it enters the proper romance stage.
