I dont mind a grey, ruthless or cunning ML. But I totally dislike when a man use woman as tools for his business.…
I think for me, it's him putting his business in front of others wellbeing. Like once he realized FL wanted out of the marriage, he should have let her out. But putting his business in front of her well being doesn't sit right with me.
I might be alone in this, but both are liars and manipulatives. Xu Yan's backstory didn't make her holier than…
Thats the difference though, she wants to start over right and cleanly, he doesn't. To put business and career in front of another persons wellbeing isn't right in my opinion. You might say prioritizing business first is the right choice, and thats ok, having different opinions is fine. To be clear, I definitely also blame FL, she isn't innocent in all this, but it's his actions after the truth comes out that bother me.
And maybe we differ in opinion and thats ok, but I think definitely lies and manipulation can have sincere motives. Maybe not selfless motives, but definitely can be done in a way that doesn't hurt others, and it's the conscience of her willing and wanting to tell the truth, where as he had no inclination. Shows a difference in conscience.
But we can disagree thats ok, thats why he's a well written character. Theres no one way too view him.
Btw worth pointing out, differing opinions and changing opinions on a character like ML is good. It shows depth, it shows character development, great script writing and great acting. Having different opinions and changing opinions on a certain character, especially when they're written to be morally grey, show its a well written and acted character.
I might be alone in this, but both are liars and manipulatives. Xu Yan's backstory didn't make her holier than…
I don't know about whether there's a prenup but divorce wise, from previews seems peaceful once they have both agreed.
I understand the years building his career, but keeping her and forcing her to go to events and be in front of the camera and have interviews, pretending to be a happy couple, is still for me, not right even if it's to protect his career. And then when they get home, he pretty much tells her, he's in control, so do what he says. For me, it's not right. Again, not irredeemable, but not right, especially after she apologizes and wants to start clean.
Also the way he treats Fang Lei. Yes Fang lei is detestable, but the way he flirted with her, was kind to her, then ruthlessly threw her aside and threatened her with his lawyer when she served her purpose, are not the actions of a good person.
One person lies and manipulates with sincere motives and to be fair, never hurts anyone with her lies and manipulations, unless they target her first. But, ML is doing it without concern for the other's wellbeing. It's the seemingly lack of conscience that worries me a bit.
30,622, new record for 2025 tencent heat index (beating its own record from yesterday). Officially the number 7 highest heat index on tencent EVER! Still climbing, 31k tonight hopefully.
I wonder if people like him will change even after going through some kind of retribution of sorts... ?πIt's…
yeh 100%, if not for like BTS showing them back together, I would think they never get back together at all, but as long as she's happy I'm ok either way
After watching 13 episode he is already beyond redemption now no matter what kind of backstory they gives him…
Thats why I fear, maybe the writers pushed him too far. If they intend to redeem him, maybe they made him a bit too dislikable for some people. Ofocurse if they don't intend for the to get ack together, then no problem.
I might be alone in this, but both are liars and manipulatives. Xu Yan's backstory didn't make her holier than…
Differing opinions are good and always happy to discuss, thats why I love MDL. I'm with you about the lying and manipulation. But I think it's the reason behind the lie, she was sincere vs him not. Also, after the lies exposed, she asks him for start over, she pretty much begs him, saying she love shim, accepts his child, apologizes and wants to start over. But he refuses. I understand that as well, it's his right to refuse. But it's his insistence to continue the sham arrange that's too much for me. Not sure if you have seem ep 13 and 14. But after the truth comes out, he pretty much insists they continue the marriage for his job and appearance. And blackmails her about loosing her own job, if they divorce. I think for me, thats too much. Thats just my personal belief, happy to hear different thoughts. And I don't think he's beyond redemption, but I think he's right at the line. Just for me anyway.
You know, I have to say, I have said before we have to wait and see how ML's backstory before judging. And to be clear when I said that I was not saying what he's done wasn't bad and he wasn't a grey character, but I wanted to know his backstory first.
BUT ep 11-14, making me really question how they are going to redeem him. I'm someone that prefers to give people the benefit of doubt, in dramas and in real life. But man even I'm struggling to see how he gets redeemed and how FL accepts him back. If it weren't for spoilers and bts, I would geuinely think they never get back together (which might be for the best) and in comes another ML like Yu Yi Ming that is better for her. Or a classic drama storyline, FL hires a divorce lawyer, and they fall in love instead.
But I hope if the writers do plan to redeem him, they don't push him to far over the line that any redemption doesn't seem enough (I think they already might have crossed that line). Cause right now, I'm saying, would be best if they never got back together and she moves on completely, because idk how he's redeemable at this point.
I'm really struggling to see how the story will redeem ML, or if he even can be redeemed. But hey, thats a sign of a good drama, making people look forward to what happens next.
for xu yan she probably feels like her world is shattered after finding out hao ming's lies because from the very…
Yeh exactly, in ep 14, she even begs ML to start over, saying she really loves him and wants to start fresh. She apologizes and feels like she's in the wrong. Thats why I said, I don't think she even fully realizes yet she doesn't need him. For her, it's like loosing her parents over again. But slowly she will realize she can thrive with or without him.
Since I know theres some of you that find this stuff interesting like me:
Drama already crossed 30k tonight. So early, still should have another 2-3 hours of climbing before dropping again. Insane. Could genuinely get very, very high tonight.
what did he do? im unable to watch ep13 yet but im super curious, can you spoil it for me:)
Hahaha so true we've been right so far, if the big spoiler about his son is correct and the possibility Fang Lie killed her sister (though thats not spoiled, more a guess), this drama will get even crazier
Man ep 14 was tough to watch, even though we knew it was coming. Poor Xu Yan. It was like loosing her parents love over again, her emotion was so raw. I think both her and ML need to understand that honestly, he needs her more than she needs him. And the reason she was with him is not because she needed him, but because she wanted to be with him. I think Xu Yan herself, doesn't realize it fully yet, that she doesn't need him to be happy and thrive, but is starting to realize.
As for ML, I wonder when he'll realize FL wasn't after his money and status and that currently, he needs her, while she really doesn't need him. His deal and job going forward rely on her and their image, while without him, she can still thrive. I think he overestimates his control, and that honestly, the balance of power has shifted greatly in ep 14, just that neither of them fully realize it yet. Next few eps are going to be so good.
And maybe we differ in opinion and thats ok, but I think definitely lies and manipulation can have sincere motives. Btw nice profile pic, so excited for FH.
