Not sure about why she wants to leave, she says its because she can't get over what he did/their secrets, but once she walks away form him begging her to stay, she secretly cries and looks really hurt, so I feel like its some noble idiocy, out of character for her to leave him especially like you said they both have secret and it seems they have resolved the misunderstandings so why leave him. Same here, I hope divorce talk is 30 or 31 and ends quickly, no time for that nonsense. Theres a picture which shows a timeline of major relationship events that someone posted in MDL, it shows marriage in 24, in 29 it says there is a Cold War, then it shows another major event in ep 32, I'm hoping this is not divorce but a reconciliation. Like you said, a lot to do, technically the black smoke main villain isn't even resurrected yet. And I know they want to destroy chang an but we still don't know how, they must have some kind of plan that needs perforation, so we can't be wasting too much time on relationships angst.

Bai jing ting in destined was quite popular already and had a few hits before. Also LOTFG general was arguably Cheng Lei's very first big role as main lead (I don't count My journey to you, as even though he outperformed the others I think, it was promoted based in Esther Yu and Zhang Linghe). Also LOTFG was an s production not s+. Again, this isn't hate towards the actors I think they're great, and there's also a lot that goes into deciding what's an s+ tier and not that I have no idea about. So its not just because of the actors they could have not liked the script as much as others, thought other dramas had a better chance of doing well, thought advertisers would like other dramas over this, a lot of decisions. Also check out the reply above with the follower stats I think thats really interesting. But Cheng Lei is getting way busier now, we know he's filming Mo Li which is s+ so thats great for him.

For northward I watched it because I wanted to see Bai Lu in something different and I wasn't watching much at the time. Personally, I found it good, but not something I had to watch. And thats ok, the story just didn't totally connect with me like you said, that I thought it was great or amazing. Never the less, it is commendable that she is willing to step away from idol dramas and try serious roles, it's what all actors that want to be taken seriously should do at some point. Like you said nothing wrong with idol dramas and some can be very good like TWD or like the double (also like you said not sure I would classify the double as an idol drama but it also does fit as one I think). And there's serious historical dramas like joy of life if they want to stay doing historical dramas but not idol dramas. But yes I hope xu kai is able to have more control over his scripts if he doesn't already, I know Yue Zheng promise him and Bai lu their own independent studios which he never delivered. I agree, some of Xu Kai's recent scripts have not been good in my opinion, nothing wrong with his acting but the scripts haven't been it. And as someone who is an established in the industry now, he should be able to pick his own scripts and should be able to tell which scripts are good or at least have potential.

Ep 28 preview: ML casts some kind of spell inside the place he works that opens some kind of portal, the back smoke escapes the dmeon market and goes to where ML is, seeming to attack him. Seems like ML casts some spell or formation to find the dmeon market and is getting closer. Also while investigating a case ML is lead to ruyi pavilion I think where FL is, inside FL's room is a dmeon (I think her lady help the fox) in their animal form and WZS there to help. FL stops him form going in her room saying everything ok, but WZS purposely makes a noise that leads ML to force his way in and it cuts when he enters (I'm guessing WZS made a noise on purpose so ML would see him in a room alone with FL and be jealous the annoying dude).
ep 29: Where the angst starts. ML leaves FL at night saying he has something to do and will explain later. ML has found the portal/entry into the demon market. He is seemingly activating it or doing something towards the entrance which is powers, a spell or something when FL appears, she tells him do you choose him/it (not sure what she referring to exactly) or me. Tbh she seems really sad in this scene and seems like she's begging ML to choose her. ML hesitates but continues with whatever spill he is doing targeting the entrance, FL then brings out her whip and briefly fights ML, short fight that ends with ML putting his sword at FL's neck. So this is where they fully found out about each other and angst starts. I'm hoping its quick the angst, only thing that worries me is in that divorce scene I saw, ML mentions that changxi palace and demon market are already in and alliance and they have cleared the misunderstandings from 18 years ago but she still wants a divorce, that makes me feel like the angst and Cold War will get dragged on as it seems the plot has progressed a bit with the truth out but still she wants to leave him but I hope not, I hope it doesn't last long, the show has proven in ep 23 it can fit a lot in when it wants to.

Same here, but for now noble idiocy just a guess, she's just asking for divorce and seemingly wanting to cut their connection, as for why, we don't know yet, hopefully its not noble idiocy.

No because the spoiler clips from yesterday, ML mentions that the demon market and changxi palace have already made an alliance, that they have cleared the misunderstandings from 18 years ago the fire, and he says can't we put it all behind them and return to how things were before, showing that they both know the truth already, and the two sides are even in an alliance, but she still asks for a divorce, so it happens after that fight. That fight is just the beginning.

Ep 29, previews show they officially discover it then, but previews of ep 26,27 and 28 show him being suspicious before. But it's confirmed in 29.

They already got back together near the end of ep 24, and previews show her proposing soon. 3rd wheel still there being annoying though, but they ignore him, they're back and happy together.

I think tomorrow's two episodes should be ok, more ML just suspicious of FL and WZS being annoying but no real angst, but from 29 onwards, I'm same as you, I want to wait, but I would probs see previews, comments and clips on YouTube and x that make me watch it.

Probably due to some noble idiocy or blackmail by WZS but prepared, there will be angst.
