That's the novel though, this has changed a lot, we have seen spoiler clips where FL even asks for a divorce and says their fate has ended, this never happened in the novel. I agree will be a happy ending for sure, but there may be a separation in between (even though I really hope not).

No idea but I think after WZS told ML how FL will come out at night to find him, he manipulated something to cause her pain so she does exactly that, sneak out at night to see him. Trying to drive a wedge between them. Just my guess though.
