Yeh exactly, only the 5th time is the one that sticks. Doesn't matter what happens in the others. He's not in control of the time loop at all, he just remembers what happens and plans for the 5th one.

He can't trigger them, in ep 2 he says they happen randomly, he doesn't know when until they happen. It's more he keeps his memories when they happen, he doesn't cause them to happen.

Hahaha no problem, I thought the same with different cases before I saw the trailer, it's understandable no worries.

I would say today's eps definitely made it more interesting, introduced a new character in Maggie who is pretty interesting and the ending of ep 7 was a very nice twist.

Big difference between rating and promotion. As I said there are some modern dramas that do extremely well, for instance The Knockout was a super, mega hit. So it happens. Just my opinion though.

But since 2023, only 5 dramas have exceeded 100m daily views on solo online streaming platforms per Yunhe, which are the Knockout, lost you forever s1, Story of Kunning palace, joy of life 2 and this thriving land. And thriving land was a dark horse.

Again the discussion was on promotion not rating. In my opinion in China, historical dramas are more heavily promoted and viewed more than modern dramas, for the most part (talking online streaming, not satellite tv/cctv etc). Again there are exceptions, like the knockout, meet yourself, hidden love, first frost etc, there definitely are ones for sure. But we are talking in general. Top 5 highest heat index shows ever on tencent, all historical. Iqiyi, top 5 highest heat index ever, the knockout, thriving land (not technically modern but also not historical), then all 3 others historical. Same with youku, mostly historical with one or two modern.

Again, nothing against modern, I love modern cdramas, my favorite cdramas ever are a couple modern ones, but we weren't talking ratings. Ofcourse many modern cdramas are rated high, but when it comes to promotion, and viewership, I think historical is mostly favored over modern in china. Just look at the yunhe charts, unless theres a dark horse hit like thriving land, at the top of the charts most of the time are historical. Ofcourse if we talk rating, I'm sure it may be different, rating is completely different to promotion and viewership. The original comment was based on promotion. Don't get me wrong, not saying theres a massive, huge difference, and there are many great modern cdramas that get a lot of promotion and viewership for sure, just talking overall. Just my opinion though, all good if you feel different, everyone has their own opinions and that's fine.

It seems the little boy was a time perceiver, same as ML, he remembers past time loops. Never really explained though but thats what I guess. I'm hoping they bring that kid back in some way, I kinda liked him

Yeh 100% agree, modern cdramas in general just don't have the same appeal, especially in china compared to historic and wuxia and xianxia. There are some modern cdramas that do extremely well, but mostly china seems to prefer historical wuxia and xianxia cdramas, epseiclaly when it comes to promotion.

No problem and I agree for sure, so many details and clues with dramas like these. I missed a bunch so rewatched the earlier episodes, like you said so easy to miss stuff.

If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend twelve letters. One of the best cdramas of 2025 easily, but was not promoted that much sadly, barely promoted at all. Very high douban and MDL score (if you care). Not to promote other dramas here, just thought I would mention it. Also has a fantasy element/time travel ish element, very unique with a great story and acting. Very good, but it's a very heavy, emotional watch.

We see from preview of ep 8/9, and some things she said before, she joined to investigate what happened to her friend previously. Not much explained but her friend either seems to be dead or disappeared, and its connected to Momo tech, so she joined Momo and wants to rise up the ranks so she can investigate what happened to her friend. As for more, not many clues yet regarding if she's squid or a time loop perceiver or any of that.

No I agree, thats why I said no doubt he could pull of the scenes where he needs to be intimidating, he does it so well in into the ring and queen of tears, and the glory, for sure he would. But I just feel like seeing him having a cute crush for FL almost like a teenager would be less believable thats all. No hate against him, he's a great actor.

He got suspicious from the murder of the two executives. They were so well planned and executed, like someone knew exactly where the two executives would be and what they would do. So he got suspicious from that, like how would anyone else know that the guy would be under that sign at that time, and the runner would touch that particular railing. Only a time loop perceiver could have planned and done those murders so well. Also the ML realized murders of both executives happened on time loop dates. Then after that yeh, with the change in the loops, he realized for sure someone was manipulating things like he does.

Momo definitely fishy, especially MYZ. I think MYZ definitely has done a lot of shady things in the past, regarding his mentor Jiang Yu Wen and FL's friend. Also I think maybe we have two different groups, like you said. The killings of the executives were clean and neat, only killed them. But the bomb was messy, killing a bunch of innocents. Maybe MYZ killed the executives as they wanted to expose his crimes or maybe a problem with their recent medicine they're developing and they wanted to wait while he wants to rush things. But someone else is after MYZ for things he did in the past. But all just guesses, need more info, looking forward to it.

100%, I enjoy how so far many suspects but not sure yet, it's a good sign, keeps it interesting. Plus Maggie is sus and we need to get properly introduced to Jiang Yu Wen, the mentor. And previews show FL investigating her friend's death or disappearance, somehow also related to Momo tech. Honestly, I'm starting to think squid could be more than one person. I think MYZ wronged a lot of people previously, now maybe two or three people coming together to hurt him. But we'll see, a lot of clues but nothing concrete like you said, need more episodes and info.

My thoughts so far.. I think MYZ definitely a criminal but not squid. In the first loop he died in the explosion, and at that time we didn't know it was a loop day yet. I think FL sus, but seems like she genuinely wants to save her mother and previews show her investigating a past death, so again don't think she's squid, but possibly, won't rule her out. MYZ's wife sus, planning with playboy to oust her husband. Also worth noting we see a scene of her scrolling the news, the type of thing squid would do to plan things, see current events. And spying on her husband. Also Maggie sus, really enjoyed her performance, played her character really well, very mysterious, looking forward to seeing her again in loop 4. The way she said "I'll remember you'", sounds like the type of ting a time loop perceiver would say. Also an investment banker would be a really ideal job for a time loop person. Also haven't even seen Jiang Yu Wen yet, think he will have a big role to play, alive or dead. Also think maybe we're looking for two different groups, the bomb for the first loop seemed so out of character compared to the other killings. The other kills were neat and clean, only killing one person and looking like a suicide. The bomb for was messy and killed a bunch of innocents as well. Seemed unlike squid. Anyway, really liked ep 6 and 7, the sign of a good mystery as well, having many suspects but not sure who yet. Things really started heating up in ep 6 and 7 with Maggie and the introduction of Jiang Yu wen.

Would be funny if the bad guy squid, was just a talking, evil actual squid, what a twist 😂. But seriously, my thoughts so far on who is sus down below with spoilers, side note, almost everyone is. Thats a sign of a good mystery, having many suspects, but not sure who is the actual villain yet, very exciting.

Plus what better job for someone that experiences time loops than an investment banker. Might just be readings too much into it though but she's sus.
