Also, when you have somebody you love and you abandon him, we expect to see some kind of sadness, depressions, something like that.

The plot was very good, but it didn't fit the feel of the drama. There was a lot of twists challenges and mysteries. You are put into a good amount of stress and suspense and when it is ended, it seems like nothing happened. Every time without any passionate comeback between our leads. In the second half you are put to a very stressing situation, but you cannot find any sweet or romantic moment between the leads that satisfies you after all you have tolerated. Always anticipated passionate moments are covered by the non-serious and comedy feel of the drama, even though the hard moments are damn serious and heart breaking.

The annoying thing was that the female lead decided to leave with the childhood friend. From that moment on, until the last episodes, I didn't feel FL loved the ML at all. The exact same thing happened for ML, but it was very short and during that period we could clearly see that ML didn't love the childhood friend and was devastated by the absence of FL. But when FL's childhood friend came, she completely ignored ML and had fun hanging out with the childhood friend, she wasn't depressed or sad and enjoyed her time without ML.
If ML wasn't the original childhood friend, female lead would have definitely lived with He Zhen. So we can conclude that she loved the memory of her childhood friend, not the ML. I really hoped that ML wasn't the childhood friend. What is so important about childhood sweethearts that always defines endgame romance result?
Female lead was a great disappointment.

I love Ji Chang Wook. He is always the strong point of the drama in all of the dramas he played in. But sometimes his partners are out of his league. That's annoys me and makes me drop the drama.
I really hope to see him in a high quality drama that he deserves, like Empress Ki.

But I think it was the best possible ending:
1. The father didn't deserve to have his son continue his kingdom. He met the best possible retribution: being left by his own wife and son and losing his kingdom and dying alone. Getting betrayed because of his absolute stupidity and greed for power.
2. Nokdu got to leave a extremely happy life with his love far away from dirty and scheming environment of the Palace. He could gradually forget all the pain his father gave to him this way.
3. Dong Joo: In addition to a very happy and peaceful life, she got her revenge from the father by taking his son from him. Maybe if not because of her, he would continue to protect his father.
