So far I'm loving this, scenes are so pleasant to look at, my favourite color combo red and black is lovely. I saw some people are not satisfied with Chen Du Ling's acting but I love her acting style, when she goes ballistic you can see the blood lust in her eyes. Not a fan of the reckless nature of the character but given the fact she was still young when she died it is only natural she didn't turn into all knowing master overnight. Though I hope she gets her sh-t together soon.
I've seen the first 25 episodes while it was airing and was holding onto last 7 episodes for 3 months now. And, I can't believe how much I cried during those last 7 episodes. It was just so heartbreaking but I loved every second of it.
spoiler: The ending was sort of a happy one but it breaks my heart that Xie Yong Er and Yu Wan Yin will never have the chance to be bffs in real world since they're not even from the same place.
I'm someone with high imagination and can endure really stupid stuff when it comes to drama/movie plots but I'm only 2 episodes in with this one and I'm suffering. This almost feels like what if Twilight was a pseudo-scifci Chinese short form romance drama. I'll push on just to amuse myself but just to be clear, it is making me reconsider my life choices.
I saw the trailer and went for it immediately. I'm glad that the trailer wasn't baiting at all, it lived up to it and even more. This was so good and I'm perplexed how little talk is around this drama.
Am I tripping or was AI used like a lot in normal human interaction basic scenes? Cause those first couple minutes with old chairmen and others in the room looked so fake. Someone please enlighten me.
He had his time and chance, he really should just move on at this point.
I'm not though. I only made one point, SML had his time and he literally blew it. They were friends that kept in touch, she had her lovers before so why on earth he is so in love when she decides to marry someone? I simply don't like nice guy trope SMLs, he simply doesn't like it that she is no longer under his domain, it is about control not love. Btw, I'll write down for you again, this is not about the male lead. This is about SML and his relationship with FL only.
First of all this was a beautiful "trauma". But the plot fell short on some parts because Ji Ling and Lu Wu Yi was too strong as a combined force hence eclipsing Wu Shi Guang who was supposedly the actual male lead. I couldn't look away from Ju Jing Yi and Chen Du Ling sister duo, their sisterly love was just so beautiful and heartbreaking, I think they deserved more scenes for the ending, we didn't even get a real farewell between them. As for Tian Jia Rui, he is such a force on screen, I've seen him in couple other works and even in My Journey To You, I thought he was the one that everyone was talking about and not Cheng Lei(his charms worked on me later on though) but in this drama he went beyond, I had no idea he had such a charm. Him and Chen Du Ling has that same %1 of something that absulotely captivates you, they're mischeveous, witty and endearing.
Everything aside the real MVP of this drama is none other than its OSTs, because they are the real make or break moment for me and this drama nailed it to the Everest. I can hear the music in my very soul and I love when the OSTs and the plot of the drama have a proper connection lyrics wise. I can just open my music playlist to rewatch the whole drama through its OSTs.
Honorable mention to Ju Jing Yi with red lips, black hanfu and her white skin combo moments because they were just otherwordly, she looked unreal, her beauty made my heart weep.
At this point we'll be getting another heartwrenching ending from this director. For all the reasons that this drama makes me happy are also the very ones end up breaking my heart and that is really cruel. Some please recommend me some light hearted romance/comedy, I need some uplifting.
... what can we do about other ppl's opinion. I prefer a person like Ji Ling in rl. Chi Wen is also a super nice…
We all had a ji ling in us until s/he grew up to become a chi wen, that's why ji ling's scenes with chi wen were so heartbreaking, it was so bittersweet for him to kill his own innocence/youth, I was totally ugly crying when ji ling questioned his own existence.
I was in it for the visuals and cool fighting scenes, so why on earth this is making me cry almost every episode. Ugh, I'll need a detox after this drama ends.
Okay I hate Sui Yuan Qing period, he has no redeeming qualities as a human being but his last scene with Qi Min made me cry and I wasn't expecting to feel for him. To be frank Qi Min has became a total monster in every way possible so maybe that's why Yuan Qing looks more human compared to him, despite being a monster in his own right.
I hate when monsters like them are shown more human then they actually are, I hate to feel for them, I hate how producers make us feel for them. I think Chang Yu and Lin'an town was robbed with how things turned out and it makes me mad.
also I feel like I'm just not the audience for the two psycho brothers. in comparison, I really like Gong. He's…
Those psychopaths are good looking but there is zero substance beneath. Deng Kai's presence really makes up for it so I'm just ignoring his character and enjoying his styling here.
drama follows book closely, explains a lot of stuff more clearly and relationships with her disciples too , it…
MQY is the greenest red flag ever to exist. He was pretty forceful and decietful at times but Cai Zhao was clever and resourceful from start to finish. So, their dynamic never felt one sided or unfair, she held her ground pretty firmly, which was really refreshing. Overall, MQY tried so hard to be that red flag but not once things went his way, plus he took all of his losses gracefully.

p.s. how is the male lead in this one? this actor was always so underwhelming for me.
