This was so good, I'm surprised that not enough people are talking about it. I love the flow of the story, it is really well done. Each moment is well thought out and not a single scene is wasted.
Plot wise it was good but not unpredictable, what actually hooked me is how each day was explored and shown in loop days. Also, flashbacks were done really tastefully.
Another plus was how the team actually did the gritty work and Ding Qi was a leader, not a superhero and an all achieving over powered cheat character.
Overall, Bai Jing Ting in a time loop simply works, he can go for the third time with his next drama.

omg, I thought it would sit on shelf due to her recent conflicts with her agency, I'm so glad it's out.

Just my two cents, someone as weak willed and two faced as crown prince can never be a good ruler.
He killed his wife, betrayed the trust of his friends, went on a full ego trip, was ready to make Li Shuang marry him by force and we are supposed to believe that he is a benevolent ruler.
Also, he freaking run for days to save Li Shuang, couldn't he just grab a vine or something, he was running in a forest for God's sake.
After Li Shuang was saved and found him by chance, he still had the audacity to lie and he wasn't even surprised that she was alive and well.
His character made no sense at all. He was the biggest psycho out all of them, not that I blame him for that though, my gripe is with his hypocrisy.
He is weak, self-serving and also drowning in self pity. At which point he was a kind and a good person I have no idea.

This was nice but looking after a bunch of kids ain't a happy ending by my standards. They're even thinking of having kids with no house and no income. Jokes aside, ending was suitable but that self-sacrificing for the greater good, for the country mindset was too much at some point.
If you want to protect something, you shouldn't let others decide for you, letting everything go and hoping that others will do a better job after you are gone is a pipe dream. Anyways had the empress dowager just killed the emperor back then, she'd be still sitting on her throne all well. In the end obsession was what brought everyone down. So, maybe, letting go isn't that bad afterall.

I'm at ep28 and Jin'an was half naked, like... half of the show yet he wakes fully clothed after their wedding night. Come on. I couldn't care less about intimate scenes but now they care about exposure ahahaha.
Anyways, at this point I'm just skipping Crown Prince's scenes and all is good.

I just had to stop, can we just kill off that crown prince. I think even Prince Li is better than him. I hate people like crown prince who is weak, drowning in self pity yet also has no loyalty. He is just like his father.

As much as I hate that Empress Dowager, she is absolutely serving looks. I’m obsessed with her finger jewelry.…
She is the type I wouldn't mind if she bossed me around a bit, she is utterly gorgeous in every scene.

I love a good happy ending but sometimes my intrusive thoughts get the better of me and I want a clean break where everyone dies.
There are some dramas where everyone actually dies and it makes so much sense that their ending is the way it is but still I hate it. So much so that there are still dramas I’ve yet to see their ending, even after years.
Anyways, my intrusive thoughts say that, what if he killed her and then remembered everything which caused him to go absolutely crazy, in a total villain arc style. After killing his way to the throne and achieving total domination he ends himself too. Just like the alternate ending/dream in the Story of Kunning Palace.

3 episodes in and I literally fell asleep watching this. It is apparent that no one in the production knew how to write a proper dialog nor a coherent plot.
Also, we all know for a fact that this cast is good at acting, they're A list stars but somehow the director managed to make them look like they're playing in a youtube mini drama with no acting chops.
I can deal with a bad plot but even the acting looks so inorganic that there is no saving grace to this. Not even enough eye-candy shots to keep me entertained. After this is over I'm sure someone on YouTube will make edits for PHS, I'll watch those instead.

I've just seen the first episode, I simply couldn't hit the pause button to stop myself.
This drama is set to break some hearts, when life is too bleak and when you know there is no way out, hope is what kills you. I can see how it will pan out but just like watching a train wreck, I have no way of looking away from this.

I was literally crying while Washing my clothes LOL. This is my favorite xianxia couple. One thing i like about…
Today I've seen the last 5 episodes of this drama. After that I put my pastel de nata to oven, made myself a cup of v60 to drink along. And I ate my pastel de nata, drank my coffee and cried the whole time I was doing all of that.
I'm getting a bit teary while I'm writing this too.
So, another drama is added to my all time classics along with a new unlocked trauma. Cheers :')

On When Destiny Brings the Demon Sep 1, 2025
This drama was such an unexpected find, I was waiting for other dramas to air whilst this came as an afterthought yet in the end it has become the classic instead of others.

I wasn’t expecting to be this much invested in the characters, I loved, laughed, cried and hurt along with them. There are lots of XianXia dramas with great effects yet many of them fall short when it comes to building a connection with the audience. When Destiny Brings the Demon achieved that connection for me.

Truthfully when that intro started I was immediately reminded of Love Between Fairy and Devil, similar music and art style were obviously in the same ball park with it, or even more like a knockoff. But despite the similarities from a production standpoint, I’m so glad that When Destiny Brings the Demon was able to carve out its own identity. Both dramas were able to make me care for its characters, so imo they’re doing something right for sure.

Arthur Chen and Wang Ying Lu were absolutely stellar in their respective roles and overall chemistry between the whole cast was so on point. I’m so glad we had such a treat in 2025.

I'm watching this, and I think I like this but mildly. I'm sure there is a plot, we have villain and a mystery, childhood trauma, secret identities, good looking cast. But... I really don't care about the characters.
What is missing in this, I don't get it. There are some solid scenes and production wise everything looks so clean and well done yet I'm not feeling the chemistry between the leads.

The drama is told to be fictional so I think the plot isnt going to be exactly the same as the history. They’re…
Fingers crossed for that but king's friend was about to kill an innocent cook with no remorse, so that much of their personality is real and frankly trash.

I'm at episode two and seeing the king and that f*ker friend of his having fun with those fans is making my blood boil. I hate when cruel people like them are so self justified and can smile like that. I want to wipe the floor with their arrogant faces.
He is taking away all those innocent women to the palace and essentially r*pes them to avenge his mother. That logic tops anything I've heard this year.
I can deal with a morally grey male lead but not a man-child who is corrupt and self-righteous. If only this wasn't a romance drama.
I really hope she can go back to her time line.

That other response isn’t accurate. She actually spends a lot of time with the SML, sharing drinks with him,…
Yes, they do spend time together as friends. He Yan treats Chu Zhao as her friend, she treats many others the same way. Like I said, 2ndML was just there throughout the story but never once he was a viable option for He Yan.

Btw, "She often smiles at him when they meet, showing clear signs of warmth and interest." this part of your comment irks me so much. Just because a woman is smiling to a man that doesn't mean they're interested in them romantically. Friendship between a man and a woman is a thing, look it up.

Vincenzo Cassano's interpretation of those scenes are not true imo. Like at all. He Yan was all in "hey bro" mode with 2ndML, not once she was ambigous with him. Being friendly as a man to another man was her scope of interaction.

In short ...Her mother blamed herself,as she couldn't protect her own daughter. She poisoned herself and said…
Emperor spared even Xu Xing Fu's daughter, He Yan's mother would at most get exiled which is dubious given her status. She exposed a traitor, that itself is enough merit to save her from execution.
