I'm at 23 and I'm having so much fun. Not the best directing for sure but keeping other generations in the loop and not just throwing a couple flashbacks is really nice. I like how new generation sees something and it comes to light a bit later and not instantly, it makes the whole flow better imo.

What a masterpiece. From start to finish, this drama delivered through and through.

Novel is better, it has real character building and actually makes sense.

Just read the novel, dialouges are just way too cringe despite the gorgeous visuals.

My heart goes out for all those wronged women. I love how Pei Yi said her piece to the emperor, it was refreshing. I really hope we get another season, writing and directing was really solid, not a moment was wasted. Dedective style costume dramas are so easy to became a drag that I was really impressed with this one. Some of them try to include too much clues with no actual plot to tie them and some are try to be too complex with no actual logic or coherence, but this one was just right for me.
It had the message, the big plot, heartwarming moments and good pacing between each case.

p.s that ending scene with the mountain range was so cheap looking compared to all this amazing production.

I know and agree with his other reasons but saying that one line about her not being able to sleep at night if she killed somebody was so stupid and out of line. I just really hate when they insert a useless moment of self righteousness, he had no right to tell her that.

My complaint is she was brink on death way too much, without the plot armor she'd be dead. Also, women kept getting the short end of the stick all the freaking time. And yet, emperor is still well and in power. He was lustful, blind, arrogant and let go of criminals for political gain. The real villian is him in my book.
This is a solid or even top notch drama from quality perspective, pacing, narrative, acting etc were all on point. But, in conclusion I'm left with frustration and inevitably that effects my rating.

Also Huajin's perspective on Pei Yi killing her enemy and not being able to sleep at night is such a bullsh-t. She killed at least 50 people on screen but killing her enemy will stop her sleeping at night... ahahah. what a nonsense. Huajin should get his head out of his a-s.
I really hate when leads stop killing their enemies for the sake of not killing people when in reality they freaking killed dozens of people on their way. Make it make sense.

That f-ker emperor should be shamed and killed. I wish she just rebelled and freaking take over the country. That arrogant b-tch emperor deserves nothing. Ugh, I hate him so much.

I said, l human beings have no moral or logical highground against them. It's not that humans have no morals, for example would you able to argue that humans have moral highground to tigers, or other predators?
We have inherintly different way of lives but that doesn't grant us the justification to condemn their actions since they're not the same species.

I think I'm officially too old for this. It feels like old school shoujo manga and I'm no longer vibing with clueless heiress type female leads and male leads that are drowning in too much ongoing trauma.

what, is it normal? cause most people I know have learned cooking at least in their high school years, only privileged people wouldn't know how to cook. And, in this case, I guess she is.

I come from a tea/coffee drinking culture and I've been drinking both of them as long as I can remeber. Another example is my niece, she used to drink coffee from our cups when she was 3 years old cause she liked the taste. So this notion of being too young to drink tea/coffee is super weird to me.

That is true from our point of view but when you think how other animals and other living beings view humans... that is another story. Blaming or demeaning them because they choose to look like humans to survive in a human world is kind of hypocrisy.
Humans in general do much much worse to their own kind let alone other living beings.
So, human characters in this drama kept repeating how earth fiend's mimicry of humans is fake and how they can never be as good as humans, that part felt too forced. Cause, you know, like I said, humans aren't all that good afterall. This superiority complex towards fiends was simply ridicilous.

A hot take on earth fiends, they really don't deserve all of that animosity. I mean, they're just trying to survive in their new enviorment. They're predators just like humans and other animals, and let's be real human beings have no moral or logical highground against them.

Couple days ago I made a post how bromance was turning into a BL fetish fantasy for viewers and how that made me uncomfortable, guess what, nobody took that well :)
I wish they kept BL as they are and stop mixing into all friendships/familial relationships. If I want BL content I'll watch BL content. Also, they do that even male leads have significant others in the drama and if it that much gay, than it is cheating.

This is so makjang, all over place and low budget that I love it. Somedays you just need trash food to feel good again.

6ht episode annoyed the hell out of me. Why should she cover herself when those perverts are the ones committing a crime? And, that music too. Ugh, gross. He should've dealt with the offenders instead of stopping a freaking doctor giving first aid.

I wasn't gonna reply but dang, suffering from 2nd hand emotional distress ain't the same as loosing your life. Your scale is crooked and I don't think you actually read a single word I've written properly.

I never said punishing innocent people, I also mentioned how capital punishment should be regulated at most strict level.

When it comes to the drama, Situ Ling's crimes were out in the open. For our modern world, people get punishment according to crimes that justice system that can provide an evidence for.
Like I said before death penalty for killing others should be under strict supervision to ensure no innocent people are affected but can you honestly say that a serial killer with all dna evidences, videos out there which they kill their victims in cold blood, can be innocent of those crimes?
I don't lack empathy, I advocate fairness. All of my examples are for extreme situations, including extreme individuals, just like Situ Ling in this context.
I obviously didn't say kill those who kill other as an accident, without an intent nor in self defense. But you keep shoving those thoughts into my comments when obviously they do not conform with what I actually wrote.

p.s. EMPATHY: the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. So for this instance if someone I loved became a vile murderer I'd want them to be punished for their crimes accordingly whilst mourning for them. You can do both. For example Nethanyu and Hitler must have people who loved them, right?
