I've just completed My Little Happiness and I want to watch this but... ugh I don't think my heart can take seeing Daddi Tang as the second male lead now. Will be back after getting rid of my withdrawal symptoms.
This is the ultimate feel-good drama, can watch it again and again, despite the lack of a real conflict there was not a single boring or redundant moment. I'm really amazed how I actually didn't skip anything at all, usually after a couple settles writers tend to unable to write anything beyond that, and dynamic of the couple becomes uninteresting but that is not the case here. Their romance was set in stone like, in episode 2 or so and at halfway point it was a done deal but still I had so much fun watching this. Idk, I enjoy well written plots with interesting characters which this drama hardly checks those boxes, I mean this was too idealistic and fairytale like yet again it still felt realistic and natural. Just like Harry Potter, a total fantasy yet while watching it you don't actually think that humans can't fly on broomsticks XD. The actors and actresses were all around charming and even the extras had chemistry with the rest of the cast. To me this drama is like milk chocolate, I don't eat it as is and on daily basis but whenever I'm low on sugar it is the most delicious thing to eat along a with a cup of fresh filter coffee, a total delight. So those with low sugar and a spirits, give this one a go :)
Tale of the Nine Tailed, that drama was the embodiment of what I consider an absolute sad/bad ending, none of…
Remember the psycho little brother who massacred, his older brother basically gave him a free pass when he indiscriminately killed other sinners/killers even when they wanted to change for the better, for example that bride he killed. For his "great love" he basically let all of those people die in front of his eyes while protecting the female lead. Even female lead's friends have survided despite the fact that every single employee on their floor have died. Overall, I'm just bitter about the absolute bias towards the leads while the common folk getting the burnt of their story. Also, making his little brother a martyr was beyond my threshold.
This is what I consider a happy ending:It's organic (well set up and developed all the way to the happy ending),…
Tale of the Nine Tailed, that drama was the embodiment of what I consider an absolute sad/bad ending, none of those lead characters did get what they deserved which was divine punishment and retribution.
This was done so well, I read it with absolute gusto. I was quite surprised to see the aspects you've considered, it almost covered all the possible scenarios in the most conventional way. But personally I'd like to add a specific one that I actually consider a happy ending; - Protagonist turns into an anti hero or even an antagonist but she/he takes her/his revenge . For me it is all about whom I empathize with in the given situation , if I internalize the plot from the point of view from a normal citizen, let's say the context is a war stricken country and the protagonists end up becoming the heroes even if their selfish choices causes many casualties whilst having their own romantic reunion I'd consider it a very madding and sad ending. I like to see the characters getting what they deserve or at least be deprived of what they want if they are unworthy. Also, just because the antagonists are bad to the lead characters that doesn't make them evil by default, like I said, for me it is all about the point of view, there are even cases that I prefer to see the characters to die since sometimes there is a certain peace that death brings. It is beside the point but I think what we take as a happy ending isn't even about the happiness that characters obtain, it is rather the satisfaction we get from the experience, whether the plot satisfies our expectations or exceeds it. For example a beautifully executed plot that ends with the death of our most beloved characters whilst leaving the viewer with a sense of hope which was what we just needed at that time so despite the conventional sad ending we are left with the unconventional happy ending due to our perspective as you've mentioned but also due our satisfaction levels depending to our mood. Maybe had we seen the same drama in more difficult time of our lives we might've hated it but at the right time, it made us happy regardless of the plot so we register it as a happy drama. At least, I believe that is the case for me.
I was going to read this one back then but when I heard that it went hiatus indefinitely I totally gave up on it, if this adaptation can give a closure to the manga who knows I might pick it up again. Fingers crossed :)
Is a side 8.5....I gave SITR 8 because of the bs ending. This had a better ending and Ro Woon is my husband, he…
I don't know about Ro Woon but be it man or woman I'd marry a person like Chae Hyun Seung any time of the day, his patience and love could rival Buddha .
I really liked this, Yun Seung's story broke my heart a little bit but overall this drama definitely comforted me in many ways. Btw, the drama itself is a huge klavuu add but weirdly enough I actually prefer this to untimely PPL, cough * subway* cough... XD
I think I finally found a drama fitting just right to my humor code after Fiery Priest, I'm living for the jokes and probably having way too much fun than it is considered a healthy dose happiness. One thing though, I'm kinda scared to see the fall of Vincenzo which will eventually come, especially with the speed everything is moving, I'd say it's not that far away too.
I think he kinda fits the role, has the big body build that actually makes sense that he is super strong unlike…
Agreed. Just based on their physical compatibility I'd say we'll be seeing a much better on screen chemistry cause lets be real that kiss in ep 1 at 5th min was ridiculous. It almost made me drop the drama.
Kinda wish they replaced Jisoo with some else, Na In Woo looks kinda old for this role even though he isn't haha
I think he kinda fits the role, has the big body build that actually makes sense that he is super strong unlike unassuming looking Jisoo plus he has a big smile that can actually fool us into believing he is kind. If they keep up with the quality of the production I think I might be even glad for the change.
Sad that I have to drop it but I won't watch a denatured drama. They are donna remove the ML for the next 3 episodes…
If it was anyone else replacing him I was going to drop it too but Na In Woo has showed pretty solid acting in Mr. Queen so I'm gonna watch at 2 episodes with him before deciding.
I see you're a manhwa-reader/ fan as well?!Agreed on the teenagers bit. Adolescence-fueled rage and toxicity happens…
"I sincerely hope it's a much more enjoyable experience to read the raws, should you happen to find them! <3" Thank U ^^ Edit: I have found it on Kakao, plus it's the colored version :D

Thanks, I've read your comment below and I'm totally convinced to give it another go, the art style was gorgeous and actually I can read Korean now and if anything I can probably find the raws somewhere :)

I was reading the manhwa back then but never got around to finish it since it wasn't completely translated back then. Have you read the whole thing? Should I give it another go?
As much as relationships can get toxic Shin Chae Kyung and Lee Shin had it all BUT, this was just done so well, they were both teenagers and if you think about it, both of them have acted as teenagers should be acting like, Lee Shin was mean yet he is actually one of the few problematic male leads that is pretty justified with his anger, he was unfair to Shin Chae Kyung there is no doubt in it but when you consider their age, marriage + palace drama, their relationship made sense. If anything, watching the growth of these two teenagers was rewarding enough for me, and to this day Queen Dowager is still one of my favorite characters, her relationship with Shin Chae Kyung was my true joy in watching this drama, plus the teddy bears, they were the real main leads if you ask me.
