Watching Raba is such a joy, she keeps getting better and better. I've started this drama to get things off my mind but who knew this would be such a great gem. Some people might say this drama has a simple plot but in my opinion it had one of the best characterizations I have ever seen for the leads and their love story is as common/fairytale-like as it gets in the drama-land yet for some outlandish reason it is also so freaking natural. I'm just blown away by how their love life blossomed, it wasn't rushed nor it made go "why on earth did these two fell in love" , they just made f*cking so much sense.
Anyways, actually the main reason I've kept watching this drama wasn't their love line or the extreme pleasure of seeing two gorgeous personas on screen, no, those reasons were only the toppings of an already well made rice. What really ensnared my soul was Yu Tu's job struggle. Yes. I was just blown out of the waters when his insecurities were told, how he was giving up on science for money etc. I have not read the synopsis before I clicked that play button and oh boy, I was not ready for that, at all. I'm a scientist, a chemist to be exact and I was having the exact internal struggle between academics and money, so when he was ready to resign and give up his dream, I was crushed, it just not broke my heart, no, it scarred my soul. *sigh* I'm just glad that he could stick with his dreams, truthfully, I'm actually quite envious of Yu Tu, I don't know if I'll ever have that kind of success or luxury to keep doing what I love but watching him made me more self aware and I think it gave me that last bit courage I needed to go out of my comfort zone and try my hardest and best. Also Jing Jing's attitude towards her work was also praise worthy, at the end of the day both of the characters made me want to better myself.
I don't know how much I cried and laughed while watching this, wish it was longer * sigh * but I suppose every good thing has to end at some point. The whole cast was truly so lovely, ugh, it has been such a long time since my heart fluttered as such.
Whenever I watch a school drama I feel like I've wasted my youth, am I the only one? I mean, it's like, as if I didn't form strong friendships enough, or had fun really, wasn't ambitious enough about academics or had no one I liked, wasn't passionate about stupid things that I could only like at that age... I don't know, at the end of the day these dramas portray almost an idealistic school life with all those ups and downs a youth should face whilst in reality there is no sudden enlightenment about life, nothing that dramatic happens, no one is interested and invested in each other to go out of their way to laugh, love, hate, cry, be disappointed together. At least I didn't have such an environment. Whatever, I shall re-watch this and reply series whenever I want to reminiscence a past I've never had. XD
This drama beautifully portrays societal stigmas around women's gender roles while showing us strong characters that have actual opinions rather than parroted ones, the way they relay their thoughts are very well in their character design and not just thrown into the scene just the heck of it.
P.s. It is quite hard to come by a drama where I actually appreciate all of the cast, each and every character, whilst being a bit polished all the time, have a down to earth feeling, they give me all the nice fuzzy feelings inside, I like them a lot :)
I disgree. She was suffering because she had to live without money and fame. I feel story for XD and YZ.
I've never said Luo Qianyi was bad though. Also once again I'm on board that Youze is long due for jail time. But as for Xiadong, saying that she didn't loose anything is something I can't agree, had she known who she was, she'd have her sister and her life ( no matter how hard it was) ,what she deliberately stole was Qianyi's bag/wallet/or whatever, not her Qianyi's identity, so it is not fair to blame her for that.

But he was searching for her... though not through above the board means. Also Xiaodong is a victim in all this fake identity situation, just because she was a thief doesn't make her the worst person on earth, also given the size of her thefts she'd get a penalty at most, getting jail time for pickpocketing is over the top. But Youze indeed needs to go to jail, for kidnapping and identity theft. As for Qianyi, she was clearly done with Youze before the accident, also was cheating on him so I'd say only half of her resentment is fair. One thing is sure though, Youze is not a healthy choice as a partner/lover, there is something wrong wired in him, a total creep if you ask me.
Here comes another person with a complex and bias. So, basically she is saying that rich people should never be…
Maybe I'll like this after all since Lulu Xu is such a joy to watch on screen but I'm waiting for it to pass the half-mark before I decide to invest my time in this :)

Fist of all not a single line of my comment suggest any hatred to the drama itself but rather what I would rather prefer to see Lulu Xu to act at.
And secondly, whilst the OG comment serves no constructive criticism towards to the drama, mine included, this comment section is place where people write about thoughts, one might like or dislike a drama and write his/her opinion on this platform freely, if this was simply a hate comment or b*tching like you said, I'm sure moderators would've deleted already.
It is good that someone is thinking for the behalf of rich people, I'm sure they appreciate people like you. As for me, I do enjoy watching rich people in dramas being just rich and in love, that is the scope of my interest.
before u talk nonsense watch the drama and everyone goes through struggles rich or poor no matter who u are everyone…
Of course everyone has their own struggles, but take it like this, there is someone who is struggling to choose his/her outfit of the day and that is his/her biggest struggle which actually causes immense stress/mental health problem but there is also someone who is struggling to buy a winter coat and this person lives in a cold environment all year around, if he/she can't buy a proper coat there is high chance that this person will get seriously sick hence this person takes more shifts just to clothe himself/herself properly. Now, ask yourself, if these two people came to you for help, which one you would more inclined to help. Both of their struggles are real and hurtful to themselves, as an outsider we are not privy to their inner-worlds but still regardless of these people's reality everyone has their own world perspective and for some(me included) the first person might even sound snobbish, while the second person might sound more relatable or at least logically understandable and this is because most people can't go outside of their sphere. Give a poor person a million dollars he/she would a hard time spending it, and most likely a rich person wouldn't know what to do with a dollar. It is not hypocrisy, I doubt rich people would be spending any minute of their lives to actually and truly understand a poor person's perspective and struggles. And, in truth, it quiet unrealistic to expect for people to spend any time to understand other people with such a wide gap of world views, it can be applied to any level of human interaction, between cultures, races, genders, ages, whilst it may sound insensitive it is a fundamental part of humanity, sticking to what we are familiar, individuals may strive for a change but the collective revolution can only be achieved in time. As for me, I'd rather help humans that lack basic needs first and if the world becomes a better place as a result than I might think about those privileged people, but till then, adios.

Why would bother to understand a class which is infinitely more privileged than the rest of the world? I'm sure you're familiar with the concept of "helping the house that is on fire first" , in this case I'm sure "understanding" rich people's struggles is pretty much at the lowest row in anyone's list, if it is there at all. So, as a new viewer of Lulu Xu's work, I'd rather see her acting as a middle class/poor struggling youth instead of this, since that would resonate with more people.
I agree with all your comment but what do you mean about gamers? It's a career for a reason. You need skills,…
Well dramas tend to exaggerate most of the occupations and since first 10 episodes which I've seen so far had the gaming aspect on focus, hence my comment. So, I didn't mean to devalue the e-sports as an occupation only it's and casual gamers' over the top portrayal in Chinese dramas were my targets. And 10 fingers comment was due to fact of the game's unrealistic portrayal, most of those cool moves can't be achieved via good playing skills unless it has AR or VR compatibility which in this case is not true.
They've seem to spent a pretty penny for those CGIs cause they look really good, directing is on point too and it kinda saves the story since I have no explanation for a female lead who gets shy from a freaking game character's skin exposure, it's not even VR but characters are behaving almost like it is, male lead acts as if he is doing all that combat in real life whilst all the work is done by his ten fingers XD idk, there is a tendency to portray e-sports/gamers themes more than what they actually are.
I'm really impressed with the directing and dialogue, every episode feels like a mini movie, every action and motion is so beautifully shot and expressed that I'm in love, I pray that it just can keep quality till the very end.
I think this drama is an excellent to watch while it's airing, this way another I find myself thinking about the characters rest of the week and I really do enjoy a drama where I can analyze the plot as well as the characters. There is a certain fulfillment that this drama provides and I like it a lot.
