typical pre-2010 kdrama with all the cliches... arrogant rich indifferent male leadpoor naive(dumb) innocent female…
Whilst I agree with your points, I do find Princess Hours a lot more compelling, I really loved the whole family dynamic, Queen and Queen dowager both were such a joy to watch. Also, at heart this was still a teenager drama with it's flamboyant teenage liveliness while dressed in an unshakeable underlying melancholy due to serious topics it actually tackled. Overall all it might not be that deep of a drama but if you've seen it while being in that target audience, aka teenager, then it is quite hard to not enjoy it, at least for back in its own decade.
So far, I love this drama, despite the focus on Song Ah and Hyun Seung 's relationship, the balance of the whole story is really well done. We get to see a lot of other perspectives with different type of relationships that others have and so far it has been really fun, and in an unexpected way quite realistic at some parts too.
she didnt give up on the relationship... she only prioritized her career over the relationship...
She already said that she could not put her all in to love like her mom and Hyun Seung said that it was okay and he would be the one putting his all in. Also, she was always sincere and frank about her feelings, at which point did she deceive him or played with his feelings. I don't get it. She was selfish which she admitted and no matter what we say it Hyun Seung that accepted her despite it.
It's official, this drama will leave me in pieces, 6th episode was brutal and now the 8th one, sigh, I'll accept the fate and consider all of my favorite characters dead since I just can't see how on earth they will ever survive this.
So the woman we saw in the beginning of the first episode, the one who dropped the baby was Gu Reum?! And she…
It was obvious that woman was Gu Reum, her body is too prominent to be mixed up with someone else but I was betting for a time slip sorta moment and that baby being ZiO, of course this was before watching the rest of the drama. But, still can't believe she is the baby mama, that one I totally didn't see it coming.
4 wow, I mean two makes at least sense as it would placate fans and 3 is a stretch but 4 different endings is a new high for sure. Still the one I mentioned above would fit my taste the best but oh well.
Well, the comment said that it was dream sequence due to time travel fantasy restrictions(plus bunch of others) of China at that time, I haven't seen the original hence I've only written what I understood/remember from that comment.
I've read in some spoiler for the Chinese version that Bon Hwan and So Young were actually supposed to be the same person and Bo Hwan was sent to a man's body by accident, so in the end both of the souls merged as one. That would've been a better ending imo but I guess we'll have to make do with this one.
I think she is mad because before they broke up he never really had time for her because of his job, they hardly…
In real life men like him would be called total trash,(I've only seen the Chinese version) he is one hell of an arrogant a piece of sh*t, but again female lead was also beyond stupid to be redeemed so I guess match made in heaven?
P.s. There was this recalling the memories scene between the male lead and the female lead's mother where he was thinking with a snobby voice how her daughter was chasing after him, ugh, I really wanted to smack his head back then.
This Heon guy does not apologize and is incapable of being humble. For him to say that he never considered that…
I f*cking hated the male lead's guts in the original drama and now he is no different in this though I hoped they'd change that part with this remake, sigh, not gonna watch this, thanks for the spoiler.
In my case if I add something to my watch list or read list, it almost feels like they're my responsibility to…
That happens to me whenever I'm fed up with watching dramas, I usually switch it up with novels to anime to music and to dramas again in no particular order. Maybe you can opt for movies instead if you strictly want to kill your time via watching something without having to endure it or you can try out those isekai web novels they're great for momentary entertainment and highly addictive. Edit: Also I highly recommend Run On, it is such a laid back drama with great chemistry between all of the cast while having awesome quality dialogs or even monologs.
How to cure the "Lazy to Start Disease" aka "I'm too lazy to start a new drama disease"? I keep adding numerous…
In my case if I add something to my watch list or read list, it almost feels like they're my responsibility to watch not something I do out of love, so it's better to not look at their story of length nor cast, randomly start anything that visually appeals to you, be the color scheme or the poster of it, in short just dive in and if you don't like it, you can drop them anytime you want. This is my way of enjoying any content on any platform really, once I try to find out a good production with a good synopsis or a trailer, I begin to have expectations and once you have them, it is inevitable to be not disappointed since reality/budget can never catch up to dreams. If you are not marrying the drama you're gonna watch there is no need to look at the length nor the content before ahead, it can only last as long as you want to watch it.
I totally used to be this type of a watcher, unable to give up but then I grew out of it and now if don't like something I can drop it even at the last episode, for example I didn't watch the last episode of Legend of the Blue Sea for almost 4 years now and I used to keep it in my currently watching list until I decided that was it and moved it my dropped list. Sometimes things just don't work out whether it be in real life or a drama plot and I've learned the hard way that letting it go is good, hard but for the long run you are wasting lot less time on bs. Giving a second chance sometimes can result in jackpot but after the third time it is simply forcing yourself to be something you are not. I am not a saint so why would I try to find a singular good point about a drama or a character that practically bores or irritates me to death, it's just not worth it, though leaving comments on it totally a stress reliever that much I admit but again the cause of that stress is also lies in the drama itself sooooo, idk.
I totally binge watched it since yesterday and all I can say that I do regret watching it... this late, what the hell was I doing last year. Shin Hye Sun has my heart, I'm completely and utterly floored by her presence, she is that good. I love plot ridden dramas and complex characters but this drama while checking no boxes in my list still made it's way right into my heart. Though I find the plot development a lot lacking the feelings this drama left with me is precious as is.
I've been binge watching this since last night and gosh, I'm beyond hooked, I was quite apprehensive to watch due to age gap and divorce topics but I think I am in love with this drama. Everything is done so well that I'm heartbroken, happy, angry, depressed and over the moon all at the same time, I'm going a little bit crazy but it's okay :')
p.s. Lee Do Hyun *sigh* he is so charming on the screen that it just doesn't make any sense , I've seen in 3 projects and he freaking nailed every single one of them, I just love it so much whenever good actors/actresses emerge to the k-drama scene, hopefully newbies like him can get more chances to shine in the future.
SeonGyeom is that puppy you want to raise and Danah is the one you wish to be raised by, I'm surprised how much I actually adore all the characters which rarely happens to me, this drama may not have grandiose plot but it is well beyond charming and makes me feel good, and at the end of the day I think for me that what matters the most.
are you watching the same show? the king is anything but a jerk... he has literally no reason to trust the queen…
Sacrificing the minority for the sake of the majority, it may seem noble and righteous on the surface until you became the minority. King's aid said that "as long as the outcome is good method to achieve it also becomes righteous even if it is cruel. And you can't fight the Kim clan with normal methods." But, I disagree, no matter how good the outcome is what is cruel is cruel, it is hypocritical to present that fact with bows and sparkles. The king might be doing what he has to do for "the greater good" ( which I think is BS and btw he himself also accepted he might be in the wrong by bundling the queen with the rest of the kim clan) , nevertheless it doesn't change the fact that he was a jerk towards to the queen( kindly read this part with attention as I never said that he was a jerk as a King/towards his people, the part in my first comment was a generalization and my reply clearly explained at point I regard him as a jerk), there is no need to defend nor justify his actions.
Also, "he is not in love with his concubine" what, excuse me, if what they have is not how a mutual relationship looks like I don't know what it is.?

The moment he tried to kill her he became a jerk to the female lead, but also my sentence was a generalization of a typical, that annoying person turned into my love interest situation, not that male lead is a garbage all around. Also I've regarded him as a jerk for another reason which is the "romantic" interest he is starting to show towards to the queen in episode 5 despite the fact he is so in love with his concubine, hence he is also becoming a jerk to his concubine, and since this is a drama with a fantasy element in its core I'm disregarding the fact that polygamy was a huge thing back then.
