High five. I felt the same. Do I still love the drama, yes. But omg so very many issues in the later episodes that almost for me, lost its magic of what made this so special.

I would very much believe animal cruelty happens, because I don't believe there are regulations to animal welfare in many places. I always continue to hope to see changes in the world for the welfare and humane treatment of those with no voice, including in the entertainment industry so creatures are handled with expertise and compassionate care by animal professionals with their well-being in mind.

YASS! Someone with an unpopular opinion like me too. LOL! I felt it dragged and was unnecessary. I am trying to sort out my thoughts to write a really long review on things that didn't work towards the end for me.

On the Viki platform, the drama has the 55 episodes (calling it director's cut) where segments at the beginning changed drastically to give the drama more flow. I never saw the 52 nor the 55, but my friends who had seen it, mentioned the 55 episode version was the one to watch because of fluidity with storytelling. Which I feel that really sucks, because then if it helps the storyline flow, it should have been 55 from the get go, and not 52, then coming back to have the 55 eps. No worries about being up to date on things. I remember Lord of the Rings...and the marathons people had in theatres at the time of its final installment.

We can also still dream and hope for the same some sort of special with LLTG right? LOL

I don't know the source to be honest, other than the comments about the drama being rumored at 66 when it was announced. I believe there was a director's cut with the drama, EASTERN PALACE/ GOODBYE MY PRINCESS, but as you mentioned, that was moreso 3 (not like 10) additional episodes for a total of 55 vs. what was originally broadcasted of 52 episodes.

Yea, I would be really curious if in the future they do a director's cut, if we would even see any extra eps. if there ever was.

I think after a wonderful drama ends, there are so many emotions that flutter through. I haven't even finished yet and I have like a running document of my thoughts that I plan to organize later. LOL

On the 18th of Aug., Tencent released an express package that people can purchase to binge from 49-56, so right now, there are people who've already completed the series as a result

*hugs* it'll mean having to rewatch the episodes that they were initially planning to air anyways, huh?

OMG! I love your review of the show. It's probably what I would rate as well, and I absolutely appreciated how you called out some of the choppy moments and questioning some of the logic of her family coming in where they didn't know where the heck NN was. I love that you reviewed the drama with subjective lens of what you adored and loved, and then also had on your objective lens to call out the other issues in the drama. Thank you so much, friend. I appreciate our drama-friendship here too. These dramas are definitely the unicorns, because as you said, they don't come back so often, so they're really special when it happens. Can't wait to share my reviews/thoughts down the line too :)

I am waiting for next week when it releases on Viki, but I also believe there are sites with all of it loaded up too. I am hoping it's true at least with some of the re-edits for the episodes that will release with regular schedule. (I'll keep you posted via message if I find confirmation for anything.) I don't think I'll be watching anything after LLTG for a while because I need to process and eventually write a long review for the drama. I have sooo many thoughts that I have had to make bullet points and keep in a file for now. LOL

It honestly sounds like what you've seen in comments may be from a different drama? LLTG is slow burn romance. It's quite obvious in my opinion who the male lead is from the start, but there are others who are interested in the female lead. Lack of communication is accurate between our main couple, because both characters are prideful, had to survive from their experience, and learning to grow with each other through this journey.

I am still scouring the internet too to check if there is confirmed director's cut. LOL. Are you planning to rewatch the entire drama or taking a breather, friend!?

I'm hoping for a director's cut too. I think there could be more fluidity on the transition for some the story. Thank you for sharing too. 🙂

If only we had the rumored 66 eps, I think it would have done the drama much more justice.
