I have not seen the rest of the show, but I truly do appreciate you calling out the issues for what it with the number of villains thrown at us, despite the source material. I struggled with Lou Ben's arc, because it feels out of character for him for have taken a short cut the way he did, considering how long he's waited. Like you said, if he had done it right, used his talents, he'd have proper backings, despite everything, and bid his time. His wife too...it felt like her grievances should have been against the first branch. She also appeared to have a go head on her shoulders for so long too, so to see her go down this road also felt so out of character with her values.

OMG! Yes, it's why I kept quiet when THE LONG BALLAD was airing, and it was just a struggle for me to get into that drama, despite loving LuSi. I feel even when I express my love for WL and ZLS here in this forum and loving them together even if they weren't in THE LONG BALLAD, I didn't have to fear being chased by pitchforks. 😅

That's so sad, but I actually noticed that when I was lurking in the thread and gathering information to see if the drama was worth watching! Thank goodness most of us here in the LLTG threads have been really great.

I feel CSS still had her father and brothers who do love her, before LBY came into the picture. Shaosheng's mother does love her too, but she struggles with showing it in a way that is appropriate for CSS. Parenting truly is an art and not a science. But both CSS and WL they have many characteristics and experiences that are similar, and yet, early on, one takes the bullying route, and the other usually has more compassion and empathy.

OMG, wow, I didn't know you've been holding off most of part 2! Where did you last leave off? And yes, I think the binge will be wonderful when you and your sister are able to watch together. I can't wait to hear your thoughts, because I've been holding off to watch 6 episodes each time in the week. Truer words couldn't not have been better said: please stick the landing!

YASS, friend. I feel we're biting our fingers together. Some of the stuff that's been happening feel like they've kinda come out of the blue, and I wish we could trim out some of the stuff or shorten the side plots, like the episode with the crown prince and his consort. That could have been condensed to move the other plots forward, and even this current plot with Lou Ben could/should have been seamlessly built in, in past episodes to lead to this. But let's cross fingers it'll finish strongly! I am so scared it could suffer what alot of dramas do towards its tail end.

It does have aspects of wuxia with references to the martial arts world, and fight scenes, but I think it's accurate more for historical period.

The beginning is actually quite slow to be honest. In my opinion, it took getting to episode 3 if I remember correctly, for it to pick up. If after you get through episode 5 and still can't get into it, the drama might just not be for you. If you are familiar with THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, I would say this is the grand scale, intricately brilliant version of that. This drama remains one of the best dramas I've encountered, and truly a rare gem in the sea of dramas.

omg yes, quality over quantity. I agree because this is where my heart is doing anxious somersaults wondering how the entire drama will wrap. Because like you, I feel the rushing would affect the quality of the entire drama as a whole. It seems so many dramas suffer from this rushed ending (I hope LLTG will remain strong till the end despite some of the whip-lash moments we've been given) when they were doing splendid throughout. I truly believe if they had 10 more episodes like the original rumored 66, it would have given the story more justice, granted in a sense, this drama got a 2nd chance of being re-written from the novel form, so it should, I hope, be able to deliver given the 2nd chance the story got to go under revision and tighten plot points.

I love the scene you mentioned too, but like you said, too many good ones to narrow it down. And I was thinking the SAMEEE DARN thing about the wings she made for him. They even friggin' used the shot in their music video with the sunlight in the backdrop highlighting him in the silhouette of his armour. I have a feeling though that the reason why they want us to believe it's "funny" is because as a general, I am assuming the less "bells and whistles" one has on on the battlefield, the less someone might also standout at times when not needed. But I really thought it looked awesome on him too!

I don't think the ones you mentioned are as popular in comparison to THE UNTAMED. :( That's a real bummer, but I hope it'll be possible for LOVE LIKE THE GALAXY. I believe the dramas you love may only have printed books for theirs, like STORY OF MINGLAN seems to have the novels published, but merchandise doesn't look hopeful either with the others.

I recently bought some stuff through ebay for a friend who's a HUGE fan of "The Untamed". There is also Aliexpress, but I know we have to be careful with ratings of a store. Are you looking for something in particular though? I've bought books from the drama, "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" from Korea before through a store in the USA that does import books. It really does just depend. But I understand the struggle!
