Latest Neflix global weekly (Aug 1 to Aug 7) streaming numbers:EAW#1 TV Show Non-English, 67 million hours#2 overall…
I'd gladly contribute to those numbers, if Netflix actually released EAW here on the premiere day...

It would be nice if there was more of her mother's story and not just 5 minutes per show. The court cases are…
I agree! It's hard, cause I feel like the writer is using the time in the drama to the fullest, but at the same time I feel like I would like to see so much more of every plot. The court cases are very good and give YW the opportunity to develop (and if they weren't so fleshed out, they could feel flat), but I want to see more backstory to every character...

With most of dramas it's easy for me to say where I see weaknesses and how I recommend to make it better, but with this one I'm at a loss of words - and the only thing that comes to my mind is that if the episodes were longer (though they already aren't the shortest) or if we had 20 eps instead of 16...

In the preview someone said: “ Choose a girl who can make you happy and not a girl you have to take care of”And…
I think she is aware of how other people may react. Like she said in ep 10 "it isn't easy to love me". So I don't think she will be taken by surprise whan she hears that, maybe little sad and taken aback. I hope it will lead to more communication between YW and JH and figuring out their way to solve problems, and not some sudden unnecessary drama

Yes it was heartbreaking that they ended ep 12 with that misunderstanding and no resolution as of now... How can I wait after such a scene...

In dramas, the MCs are often extraordinary in some way - be it IQ, talent, wealth. I feel like it's getting better nowadays with "normal people (in terms of intelligence, money and so on)" being shown in media more. But even in my youth the main trope for YA books/movies was "the FL seems to be just an ordinary girl, BUT she has a very special quirk (reading minds / singing prodigy / queen's daughter/ best car mechanic in town at 15 / whatever)". Even though they were supposed to represent the everyday girl, they all had something that made them stand out.

In my mind, I feel like YW's super-intellingence is just used here to show us she's really good at her job and give us some entertaining "eureka!" moments. Also to show the discrimination - that bar results don't matter when you're autistic and looking for a job. But it's shown time and time again that intelligence isn't everything. She has to put in a good amount of effort into something which just comes naturally to people - saying objection!, understanding when a person lies, being softer to an abused witness and so on. Not even mentioning her struggles in personal life.

Of course she's talented and has the prerequisites for her job. But we are shown a lot of other attorneys which are great and not autistic. You just HAVE to be great at your job to be at Hanbada level. If she wasn't such a great lawyer, this show wouldn't exist.

Also, this show doesn't step away from showing that YW also loses cases. That there are things even she didn't think about (ergo the North-Korean mother case). She's far from being some perfect attorney. And this is the image I will take away from this show. Not her being unimaginably brilliant, but her struggling to act normal in the courtroom, struggling to kiss, all of that.

Last but not least - I'm not saying that representation of non-brilliant autistic people doesn't matter. Just that media tend to show brilliant people in this kind of dramas. And for YW being brilliant, they still give her so much room to grow, and that will be the image I will get when I think about this drama in the future.

I'm kinda wondering if the MW's villain arc is something that's not the writer's idea, but maybe some executives' order with the purpose of making the show more 'exciting'? Just a long shot, the episode where he blamed YW for getting preferential treatment had a lot of sense, but now his schemes are kinda squished in. Just my thoughts though, it doesn't bother me all that much - I mean MW' behaving like a trash but it's not all that out of place.

Also, this show reminds me so much of Hospital Playlist S1. The cases which are so focused on people, the friendship between the characters, the out-of-the-box romance, slow but steady character development... Damn, I could watch EAW for another 50 episodes and not get bored at this rate. I feel there's so much more potential in it. After watching every episode I feel unsatisfied, meaning that I WANT MORE.

Title Link: Eat, Love, Kill Spoiler
Was it obvious only to me that the dude was a serial killer wannabe and the sister was probably his first practice?…
And besides, why did he try to control himself? For what reason? Another unsolved mystery

But her dad was killed not long before the 'present' time in drama. It was one of main reasons for ML to move.

I always get annoyed by long dramas like 50 or more episodes. But this drama is one drama I neve want to see end…
YES. I was just thinking about it. Like we have only 6 eps left? When we're just only getting into the story? You'll see me ugry crying in 2 weeks time when it ends, I tell you

i watched only 2 episodes, so... Will have love triangle?
Not really, it was resolved really well without much drama

There are so many things I want to see in the future eps, but there are only 6 left! Every single plot and character in this drama is so damn interesting, I am sure I will finish this show wanting more.

There was a similar incident and he was convicted. I think that's how the ending ended because the important message…
Yeah, and also the guy didn't care if he would go to jail or not. He only cared about sending the right message to the kids. So it's kinda like we as viewers also should be fixed on that, instead of the verdict. Especially that it was very likely for him to get convicted.

I think I'll get some hate but I understand Young Woo's mom, she didn't want to have her in the first place and…
It is a very messy subject to be honest and I understand both sides. She didn't want a kid, and they made a deal, and both sides fulfilled the promise. From that perspective, it's hard to blame her for not being in YW's life. But at the same time it's understandable for YW to want to get to know her mother and feel a bit abandoned and if she learns in the future that she has a half brother it is also understandable for her to feel even worse. Especially that she was well off and had the means to raise her daughter and still have a career afterwards. Ofc she should be able to have her freedom of choice, but with the show being from YW's perspective it's easier for the viewers to sympathise with YW.

But with the mom coming to YW's dad and spitting all that bullshit I can't blame him for getting angry. Not only did she become interested when running for the government, but she's also trying to "treat" YW's autism.

That last scene between Woo Young's father and Tae Sumi really well performed by both actors. My heart went out…
If they stick to what was shown before (that YW doesn't want any favouritism and wants to make her own name for herself without connections), she shouldn't even give it much of a thought and decline. But I'm worried that her mother might try to manipulate her into it, or that YW will see how hard the relationship is for JH and will try to run away. But fingers crossed that it won't be the case
On Extraordinary Attorney Woo Jul 30, 2022
Until ep 9 I had a feeling that we don't know much about JH. He was nice and charming and all, but there wasn't a lot more to say about him, I agree. But during the last 2 episodes he showed that he's not some sort of a perfect human ready for a perfect romantic relationship. He has his reservations and doubts about it but at the same time knows that being undecided hurts YW which is not responsible. But he still needs the time to think. And then he decides to face his fears head on and go for it. He doesn't hide his feelings from his friends. He doesn't avoid the subject of mistreating YW anymore, like he did in the basketball scene with MW. He is tired of the bullshit, has no more patience for these people and wants to make his own decisions. He is ready to put her above his shitty friends, but is hurt by losing them nonetheless. He isn't afraid to honestly talk with YW now. He is upset that he can't hold her hand. He can get jealous and just a tiny bit selfish. Maybe we didn't learn about his backstory, but after those eps I feel like I'm really starting to see JH as a real, human, character, a charming and cool one, but with some flaws nonetheless. And I think we'll get to see even more.

Min Woo doesn't deserve anybody, tbh. And Soo Yeon hates him already.
I'm always into enemies to lovers relationship, but honestly Min Woo belongs in the trash and def not in a relationship with Soo Yeon
