The game ended before I even knew it. It was a tough battle, LLTG was split off into two parts so L&P ended up taking first place for me since L&P is better than part 1 or part 2 of LLTG. If LLTG was combined as one, I'd have a harder time picking between LLTG and L&P

I think Love O2O suffered some massive rating loss due to the high expectations but also because of the scandal with the main female lead.

Just an observation, don't be surprised if the rating drops from 8.7 in the future. With highly rated dramas, people go into it with high expectations and if their expectations aren't met for various reasons, a lot of people feel PERSONALLY offended by other people's high ratings possibly because they feel like they wasted their time (?) and then they rate the drama lower than they would have if they didn't read all the 10* and see the high rating. It's weird how the human brain works but I've seen this happen time and time again with many dramas.

This usually doesn't hurt the most popular dramas because they have enough of a balance between people coming in and rating and people who I just described but for this drama, the number of watchers isn't MEGA high so the people I described could definitely hurt the ratings in the future.

I feel like even after the show ends, their lives in dramaworld will still have a lot of challenges because while Li Xun had some character development, he still has a lot of unpeeled layers. They aren't the perfect couple but their love will prevail I think.

I completely see it too. I definitely notice the disguised hate. I'd like to think we welcome different opinions here but when someone comments things that aren't specific but negative, it's very telling that it's disguised hate. Something I liked about this comment section was people were happy to recommend other airing/non-airing dramas to fill the void of whenever it wasn't Mon/Tues/Wed. I didn't see people criticize other dramas, we're on L&P's comment section, the topic of discussion was focused on L&P as it should.

But yeah... This is only going to continue, with a high rating (8.7 which is relatively high on MDL) and lots of 10* reviews, people will start the drama with very high expectations and will get triggered or even OFFENDED when the drama isn't their taste (ridiculous but I've seen this happen with almost all the high rated dramas on here). I'll reiterate this on a separate comment so more people will be aware that this will inevitably happen.

That's how it is in Chinese culture though, obedience is VERY important. It's so important that in ancient China, disobedience to parents was considered a severe crime that would lead to a death penalty - obviously that's no longer true in the 21st century but the point is, it's part of our culture for the past thousand or so years.

Parents will forever call their children "child" even when their children are 30+ years, which is why some characters continue calling Li Xun their "child" even when he is nearing 30. It's more of a respect thing between elders and literally anyone younger.

He is some god basically, jokes aside, the male lead is definitely not perfect in his university days and of course it leads to trouble as well, but it gives room for character development

I watched this years ago and I am back to say I am still shocked that this drama was a real drama. 💀

We don't address the haters much in this drama's comment section but to be honest, I've definitely been noticing them in other airing dramas' comment sections. Calling fans of this show names because apparently, we are all teenage girls romanticizing toxic male leads. I haven't been specifically seeking these hateful comments either, just literally reading comment sections in other dramas' pages to see if there's anything else I want to watch and boom I find them talking negatively about L&P's audience with 10+ upvotes. 💀

But yeah I know what you mean, I followed The Untamed from the beginning and watching everything that happened after the show ended with Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo is just so unfortunate. Crazy fans ruin the best things in life.

Remember to rate the drama! Now that it's not on the top dramas airing list on MDL, it's harder for people to casually just discover this drama unless the ratings are high so that it's on the first few pages of the tags/genres filters. The higher the rating, the closer to the first page it will be on for "Top Shows" tab!
