Title The Glory
its her mother she wants to save bc she apparently has unconditional love for the woman she just met few months…
yes she is traumatized and needy and wants to be loved that much is clear. but she is also intelligent, determined, she knows right from wrong, comes from a place where she had to fight all the time to survive and she can hold a grudge, enough to kill. put all those into a blender and add on the fact that she just met these people, and her unconditional love should be a bit more conditional

its her mother she wants to save bc she apparently has unconditional love for the woman she just met few months ago, and mummy dearest is her bottom line 🙄. why? cos the scriptwriter is trifling

it feels like the main leads are lacking screen presence / main lead energy. I want to blame the director, since…
I would put maybe a tiny part of it on the actors but I think its more the directing and the writing bc their characters are both flat in the exact same way. like the main leads from rise of ning

Love Hanyan and Chai Jin's relationship. I hope Fu Jing gets more roles in drama-land.
I remember her as the evil 2fl in Dance of the Phoenix, she's actually a really quite competent actress I too hope she gets more opportunities

the mum lost the power to manage the household bc she foolishly tried to come for her husband in public knowing full well he had the upper hand, fair game. instead of just following the fl's arrangement. all that arrogance and she's not even that smart smh

The entire point was to drive the daughter away, since the only thing waiting for her in that household is misery…
I don't think she hates her daughter either. but whatever it may be, her first choice was cruelty, and that says everything one needs to know about her despite the drama's attempts at making her multifaceted. also I didn't like that the drama superseded her pov over hanyan's, who is the owner of the story. but like the commenter above said, apologist propaganda🤷

people really saw this woman beating, starving and imprisoning her daughter and concluded that she was trying to protect her🤯. I really dg why there seems to be so much sympathy for the mum, the drama itself is practically overflowing with it despite her very cruel actions
