Many of us have seen lots of angst and slow burn romances that still were emotionally satisfying to watch because the main leads were able to actually be together before hell broke loose. And I still hope that it will happen with this show, but these upcoming previews have got me doubtful. I've seen enough dramas with painful endings. Empress Ki, Queen Seondeok, One and Only, Prince of Lan Ling, and more, so I can handle the process of angst and being tormented by the pining trope. But I need some emotional payoff between the leads. Plus I didn't come this far and watch the show daily to just drop it when we only got 1 more week to go!

I've been watching the whole show and commenting my thoughts since the start. I'm fully caught up and have read spoilers and seen previews. And I will continue to watch daily. It looks like the drama is following the book which has a sad ending, which I wouldn't have minded if Haishi and FZ had some sort of relationship before the tragedy.
Another drama that just wants to destroy my happiness. It's okay. I'll find a new drama that's better than you and it'll make me happy in all the ways you failed to do so, Novoland.

I'll give it a solid 7.5. I couldn't stop watching the show, and the best part about it was discussing it in the comments here (note to self to do that again). But it loses points because it's unsatisfactory in so many ways and certain plot decisions just don't make sense at all.

If this is the outcome, and the ML never admits his feelings to her, this show is trash and the rating will definitely continue to decrease. The promise of the premise is the key to good writing, no matter how tragic the story is.
