i haven't even watch ep 40!! i have Tecent videos subscription on youtube but it has not been upload yet. where/how…
That's not true. I'm a VIP member. You can only see the previews which are free to see on YouTube. The episodes aren't available yet, but they usually are at 7 AM EST.
i know, that's how i felt. tbh, she made that same point to Sifu in a subsequent episode. She asked him why she…
True, and plus doesn't he know he can die of heartbreak. He's obviously deeply affected being all alone in his pavilion. His wife is in a harem. She's suicidal. He's dying and lonely. I honestly think he's questioning if he's made the right decision.
I want yang mi and xu kai cheng in a drama 😘😘
Xu Kai Cheng is not a terrible actor, but he's not the best. He's enjoyable to watch as a kooky emperor. But he doesn't control his facial expressions. I don't know if he can pull off more subtle roles right now, especially with Yang Mi who's very skilled.
Oh I totally get it. This is the type of drama you either love or hate, but I find to love this drama you HAVE…
The characters in this drama are not likeable or developed from the start. They BECOME likeable. The ML seems like he has his crap together, but really he's emotionally backed up. And he needs an emotional release which is why he needs Haishi. And all his actions are a result of who he currently is, and not who he will become after meeting Haishi.
Yes. I'd say push through to 30 episodes. That's when things start to come together. Everything else is truly just build up. But, this is 100% not a show for everyone. I can totally see why people would dislike it.
I see this drama has high ratings and a lot of positive reviews but honestly, I'm currently skipping watching…
Oh I totally get it. This is the type of drama you either love or hate, but I find to love this drama you HAVE to get towards the end (episode 33 onwards). Why? It's truly a story about character transformation above all else. You can't enjoy Fang Jiang Ming's blank fish-eye emotionless stares until you start to see his facade start to crumble, as his life literally starts falling apart. You can't enjoy Haishi's tenaciousness until you see her become an equal to her master in court. It's struggle love, that's for sure, but the romance is 100% there. You don't have to squint to see it. It's obvious and like Yang Mi said it's almost a miracle that they love each other with the obstacles in their way. The top obstacle being Fang Jiang Ming's self-loathing towards his bloodline that prevents him from actually being vulnerable and being happy.
Fang Jian Ming you still say Ye Haishi as your student because you are still manipulative. So to hell with you!!!…
I think the Emperor and Haishi are scheming together and gonna give Fang Jian Ming a taste of his own medicine. The type of medicine where he's actually happy for once and gets what he truly wants in life.
I'm sorry, but at this point, I love this drama too much. I wake up and think about it. What drugs did they put in this drama when they were making it?! I can't even justify why I'm addicted now. Episode 35-36 really messed me up in the best way. Best episodes so far and I need to rewatch them before tomorrow.
This is the type of drama you either hate or love. I don't think there's an in-between anymore.
Is there any Chinese historical drama with similar characters and story plots?
In my opinion, One & Only (age gap, student/teacher relationship, court drama), Love and Destiny (age gap costume xianxia drama, "servant"/master relationship), or Empress Ki (female disguised as male, rises to become the empress, court drama) have some similarities.
