Draco, Xu Kai in BCE was most of the time gorgeous especially towards the end end of the drama. But in some of the earlier scenes, you can see that he has lost muscle mass from starving himself, too skinny. For instance, if you could go back to even on ep 12, when he made some soup for his grandma trying to convince her to let him manage her hotel, he's not right, and other scenes in the hotel. Other scenes, whhen he was by her grandma bedside in the hospital, it can also been seen that he lost muscle mass, and in a several other scenes through out the drama. This is of course in comparison to what he used to be (against when he was a SAHPH, the Legends, AMA, etc) any drama right after the Lost In Kunlun mountain, because he was laughed just before he started to film the Lost in Kunlun Mountain. He was gorgeous in almost of of Lost in Kunlun Mountain or whatever its called, almost towards the end of it where you could also see he was starving himself and started to loose muscle mass.

I agree. He looks horrificically bad with his latest skinny bone face. I think hes traumatized because some one laughed at him on being fat and having fats around his waist. So now, he's obsessed into making himself slikinny bone thin. He looks as if he had even lost musckes mass...in some of the screens in BCE. Most of the scenes with his grandmom, he looked like he's lost muscle mass. The attractive and handsome face that he had was to having some fuller cheeks which made him look youthful and he looked so handsome before with the weight he had like in AMA, the Legends, Dancing if the empire. Now, its all gone. So unfortunate because he listened to the critics and falls into their traps. He should listen to Jian Tian and the lady who portrayed his grandmom in BCE, gain some weight and exercise and thats all he needed to look above every one else in China. I wished some of alasos would give good advices like this and let him know that he doesn't look as good as before, in fact, he looks horribly bad, ugly 😬 now

I agree, even though he wasn't made up well with that type of make up and hair style and waring a bad choice of outfit (all in my opinion), he still looked as the best looking of them all :) However, he could have done better though...too bad.

@Draco, the main reason I brought this one up is because I was hoping one of his alasos may see it and can bring it up to him so he'd keep that in mind and maybe change for the better. He'll be on CCTV which has a much broader coverage in China (Nationally across all China). He should take this opportunity and make himself more presentable to raise his popularity. Chinese young audience to them, looks are quite important...don't you think a Xiao Zhan has become so popular that the main reason of it isn't because of his looks (although, his singing is also excellent). Anyway, take it or leave it, that's OK...we're just expressing our opinions here...

@yellow_cat: What's the deal with you? I never asked you to leave! All of us are entitled to our opinion and therefore, express them freely here in the US...you might be in China and if so, you should be the one to really be heading out! watch out for someone at your door to come to get you.

@jungshooky: it's a reality show, but not a staged per say, as it's filmed with audience of course...so, it can be seen as in between :) Xu Kai had so many fit jackets in BCE and in his appearances at public events last year that he looked so handsome on...that's the mesmerizing thing...someone who's really clever to watch for one's career would definitely be more careful. You never seen a Yang Mi with careless worn cloths. Look at all these other actors in the ad, they were all dressed according to their sizes, all but Xu Kai.

The jacket he had on for the show's ad was so big my heck, showing him extra thin...not pleasant looking to say the least.

Wish XK having more invitations from CCTV and gain more popularity at the China's national level! In fact, someone posted or it was at X/Twitter there was an ad on CCTV about young actors and Xu Kai was in that category.

Kangxi is the grandfather of Quianlong. So, Quianlong is the son of the king that Nicky Wu portrayed in Scarlet Heart, the one he did with Liu Shi Shi.

XK hasn't changed much comparing these 2 phots, good for him, equally handsome in both.

That is the same reaction I had when I saw XK doing his dance. I mean, come on! I really didn't want to see it more than a second after it started. I thought he made a fool of himself...and unfortunately, that is why someone said that they'd prefer XK singing to his dancing, because to me (to be honest and NOT looking down on him), his dance was terribly bad. He must have had a trauma on his dance, that is, someone must have laughed too hard on him on his dance because he had been always embarrassed about his own dancing. Of course because of his origin compared to most of the other actors who also started with dancing he probably feel inferior regarding dancing. He should probably take some dancing classes to overcome that much of short coming; or not do it even if people ask him to do so. Just stand up on his own image to keep it clean and attractive.

They seem to be quite good friends, joking around in the filming of the drama. I saw a live stream broadcast between the 3 of them, during the ALP airing and they were all fun teasing among themselves; especially LXY calling LZF an old guy. XK was just laughing behind the cameras. Don't know if any of you have seen it. I think they have a good bond and probably that's why they all got tagged. Plus, LXY is doing very well since last year, all of his dramas have done very well. LZF also had one of his dramas do well (something about a single mom that he took care of, which I saw last year).

Yes, hopefully, he'll gain a few pounds afterwards and keep them with him. I don't mind him looking towards the end BCE when he was in the village; especially, when he and MCH were looking for the lost duck for their neighbors... I thought he looked so handsome then :D

Agree, he definitely looks better than some of the other actors; but doesn't look as good as even a few months ago. He looked fine with his weight even like when he was in the village looking for the FL's famous mom; and in most of Best Choice Ever...but ever since January, he's gotten too thin, and he doesn't look as good as he used to be. Yeah, hopefully, he'll gain back some of his weight by eating healthy.

I heard Xu Kai's Cantonese. It's soso, not like someone who's really from Hong Kong or Canton if i were to tell the truth as is. He's cut in the middle, so its really soso 😁. I can say however honestly, his mandarin is definitely much better than his Cantonese

Overall, i thought the mom could have gotten maybe a few mire minutes...but just coz people don't like her, her time seemed to be a lot longer😁
