sad that people feel apprehensive because of the horror tag (it's barely a prevalent genre) or because it starts out a little cryptic. is it just me or is this drama really not that confusing?? i think we're just too used to stories with too much exposition dump. this one is so nice because it allows us to figure things out ourselves, chew a little bit on what the story is trying to tell us, what it's trying to show. and the directing and dialogue being so minimalist is intentional with that. stick with the show, put the puzzle piezes together and you'll be rewarded with a beautiful story. and to give a hint, being "scared" is definitely not the emotion to be afraid of here 🥲
congrats to TJFH team 💜 happy that my favorite drama of the year was well appreciated. also you can whine all you want about some unfair conditions, but insulting other winners is not it ✌🏻
TJFH crew really won big time at the sbs drama awards!!! 💜😈
- best supporting actor: kim inkwon - best supporting actress: kim hyehwa & kim jaehwa - best performance male: lee kyuhan - best couple: daonbitna 💕 (WAS HOPING FOR THIS ONE IM SO GLAD WE GOT IT) - excellence actress: kim ahyoung - top excellence actor: kim jaeyoung (didn't expect this but OH i'm so happy for him!! so deserved) - director’s award: park shinhye (SHE'S GOT THE DAESANG IN MY HEART IDC IDC)
and even if this sounds like the greed they talk about in the bible i REALLY wish PSH had gotten the daesang or at least a joint one like last year. ngl they lowkey robbed her... 😭 but we'll take it! kang bitna you were the main event of the year nevertheless. huge congrats to the entire team who put so much love and effort into this fantastic drama!!
“Over time, I’ve become much more interested in the stories of individuals. [...] No matter how interesting the plot is, it all comes down to who is taking us through the story and what experiences they’ve previously had.”
Finished episode 7 and 8 and through all my tears, i have nothing else to say other than masterpiece, masterpiece, masterpiece. hats off to kang full and kim hee won and this wonderful cast who created this story that is not at all what it seems. a ghost story? maybe. a love story? in every fiber of its being.
the fact that the director was initially hell-bent on one season and now there's 3 parts😭 hope for him that he can move on to other projects soon. edit: just read an article of hwang dong hyuk saying he is sick and tired of squid game and absolutely burnt out creatively... oh i feel so bad for him. never planned on more than one season and then gets bled dry by netflix (bc ofc they didn't pay him enough!) to keep their cashflow running. to think that he wrote this as a passionate commentary on capitalism and is now in the middle of dragging his own show's dead body around, one that's already had its life sucked out by becoming the very thing it was trying to critique, leaves lots to think about. and is sadly ironic.
squid game season 2 (and 3 - oh boy) is really the epitome of the "what the hell, sure" meme. was i anticipating it? no. do i think it's necessary? not really. am i still gonna watch it because some of my favorite actors are starring? i guess.
i'm with you, watched it on-air and i'm still a mess because of them a month later🤧
it was SO hard to avoid spoilers on twt lol, but at the same time this drama was all i was living for the whole time it was airing so it was super fun to wait for new episodes. the theories were also extremely wild, people were so convinced of a tragic goblin-esque ending, and everyone and their mom including daon himself was suspected of being satan 🤣
Same with 2nd ML supposed to be a 7 year age gap but in reality it is closer to a 20 year age gap, one of the…
yeah true but i can sorta forgive that because i can see him as a bit older. i don't mind him because he's miles better than the SFL in terms of personality
crying even more in ep 7 😭 the lyrics of the ost matching everything so well too OH i'm sick...
finished ep 8 - the best romcom to end the year with! really hope that ji hye actually mislead jiwon's father to a diff room (i don't want to believe she could be that terrible..)
