yes, she's very much intentionally written that way (but also not just bc of the reason you mentioned)! in the beginning she says that she's terribly embarrassed of her life in the present. you get to find out why, what happened to her and how that led to her present self. overtime she started to let herself go and also became much more mellow. when ML comes back, her friend mentions how she hasn't seen her so fired up in years, she starts dressing differently after they're together and old quirks that she had during her teen-phase start showing again. when he left, a part of her left too and when they meet each other again that part comes back. i kept thinking of a phrase that goes something like "there's a version of me that exists somewhere in my life but only with you in it"

what you remember is right and basically all that happened. they ended up divorcing because of differences and hardship (whatever happened between them is their personal issue but in the end it was a mutual divorce, which she also personally confirmed seperately at the time when every news outlet asked them about it, so keep that in mind) and like all people and esp. celebrities that go through a divorce they stopped associating themselves with each other after that. all the bad rumors, for example that she "never knew about the divorce" or that he treated her badly etc. are made up and were exacerbated by gossip accounts/sites and a poorly researched video by a popular drama youtuber. things were normal years after their divorce but shortly after that video came out (which was also conveniently during the release of her netlix drama, so she had lots of attention) people started believing in them again and acting like he was some kind of red flag all along. but if you ask most of these people they're never able to tell you any actual sources on what he "did" to her, because they read that stuff on social media and just ran with it.

comments here are on another plane of existence lmao i'm having the time of my life with this show π€ one of the best romcoms i've seen in a while <3 makes me laugh, cry, swoon over the leads' chemistry - does everything a good romcom needs to do. sounds paradoxical but i love how light it feels even when you're in the midst of a heartbreaking scene because the writing knows how to hit the emotional notes without overstepping the boundaries of the genre. and we need more chungmuro actors that loosen up their script choices a little and do fun, silly shows like this. ju ji hoon and jung yoo mi are such exceptional actors and their experience elevates 2jiwon's interactions SO much
