I think the wiggle room for interpretation is because of Chian's last conversation, it did not inspire confidence. He said, "There might be a day when I'm too lazy to do nails for you, or I might be too busy that I don't text you back, but I will let you know". There was no "I love you and I'll be a better partner/boyfriend in the future". Yes people can infer based on the story and the visuals at the end but to me it is still open to interpretation what exactly their relationship is at the end and also how long it will last.
Thank you for your comment. I edited my review. I agree that he's better than the other two love interests. I…
Yes, I'm fine now, it happened a long time ago. Unfortunately one of the reasons that I think it took me so long to recognize it as abuse is because then and still now, fictional media rarely accurately labels emotional abuse. Yes, our experiences definitely shape our perspective. I wrote in another comment that I can see how people could really enjoy this series and rate it much higher than I did.

Thank you for your comment. I edited my review. I agree that he's better than the other two love interests. I was in an emotionally abusive relationship so that might change how I view character actions. I've seen people gushing about how he was such a green flag but the actions I described (lovebombing, stonewalling, kissing when someone is almost black out drunk) are not green flag behavior.
I appreciate your reviews and opinions as always but I have to say this series might be one of the few times I…
I can see how people really enjoyed this series and rated it much higher than I did. I think the sticking point for me is that they made it a romance at the end but I wasn't sold on the romance. If they had kept it as a twisty dark thriller, then my rating would have been significantly higher.
