But i think he will appear and tell his story for reasons why, so the family has closure regarding their father/gremlin regarding her husband. I highly doubt any of his kids would accept him back into their lives and why should they? Total deadbeat and coward, they don't need him now 25 yrs later. Hence why i am thinking his appearance will be only a brief one, so the process of healing can happen and them going w/o regrets toward their future to "live their own life." Plus we are in the last ten eps now, so the new subplot needs to be kept simple so it can be resolved timely heh.

if i had to guess tho, sending TH away was maybe to keep them from infighting later on about the company etc since MH lamented to her son how it would have been better to raise them both in a simple household instead of them struggling for power over assets, shares and positions. I guess granny wanted to avoid a repeat with the two young brothers later, but then all of it went to shitters when their parents indeed died, seemingly at the hands of her oldest son.

And now, ironically, we get a repeat of the same infighting with TH and TM their father/uncle already had done. Another aspect why the plot twist works so well btw, bc it ties everything together if in a tragic and mildly ironic sense. Especially if you regard that the two brothers got along well growing up (as cousins) and spent a lot of time together (if i don't remember their early dialogue with e/o wrong that is). At least before TH was sent to the US and he became forcibly estranged to them (and lonely) with only seeing his family twice a year.

(It was also TH who tried to reconnect with TM at the start but ever since the dude saw him training with his crush (how dare a PT train a client gasp) he started to become petty and hostile/generally standoffish toward TH, and then the whole thing of TM seizing the totaled car from TH thing... from which their relationship never recovered, going forward.) We will see what is all behind it, but so far writer nim came through so i have faith it will make sense then.

heh, yeah i think TM could be the illegitimate child, aka born out of wedlock which would have been still a huge no go in SK forty years ago, i bet. Especially in chaebol circles with their joseon-esque structures. But we will see what went on in MH's little head back then to tear the boy from his parents basically briefly after birth and give him to the demon to raise.

You must be new here to this genre. It's a family drama/weekender. Long running dramas centered around often two fams (of the leads) with their problems dreams struggles and hopes, how they live, learn and grow. 50 eps gives ample time for character, relationship and plot development, so yeah. Slice of life in an exaggerated manner, basically Korean soap. Has a long standing tradition in Korea and should not be ridiculed bc it's not as popular here internationally. Aka Lol, 7.6 lol. Imo it is better than a lot of the regular 16 eps KDrama airing rn and keeps me engaged but that comes down to personal taste of course. Your post comes off as a little bit ignorant tho, bc Google exists if you dunno what family dramas are and why they are beloved by the domestic public.

Yeah so much I see you guys talking about here feels like a straight up repeat of TRHC so yikes. I'm glad I dropped this and just focus on the weekender. The quality and compentency of writing is like night and day compared to the prior family drama trainwreck tbh. Yeah TH is a year older than HS, give or take, and she is canonically 35, so this checks out. TM is older but not by much... probs 2-3 yrs :)

Also this family drama deserves a far better rating than it got by now here. 7.6? Seriously? TRHC is 7.4 and an absolute trainwreck writing wise while this show is competently written story-wise, structure and plot seeds, character development (with some exceptions) etc. All very coherent and well done.

Long overdue, indeed but several steps were needed to get there first, like the whole your "parents/"mother" ain't the little angels you take them for, TM. Grandma is alive, TM. Him finding grandma. Grandma having a change of heart after seeing the "cousins" fight each other to reveal the big secret to TM after all and after TH posed some question she could not answer him. That series of events all started with grandma running after TH and their reunion basically. So it is a well-crafted chain of plot events tbh. I love things like that, ngl.

And yeah hard hit for the dude but a needed one. As said he is the personified tunnel vision and thus such a big shake up was needed to finally make him look left and right and see what is there for the first time. He will have a family after that tho with TH & HS (ironically) and grandma. Maybe he's gonna be a good uncle to TH's future kids then too. But he won't be welcomed with open arms as long lost brother, it will take time for TH to forgive him and also stomach that news himself. Maybe even arrogant wife makes a return and they can start over? Idk. It all depends on him now and where he goes from there, bc his parents are also TH's so he better start giving a damn now in finding out the truth and repent this way.

Looking back at TH's duckling analogy it was a big big sneaky writer hint toward TM recognizing the wrong "things" as his parents bc a duckling also thinks the first thing he sees is its mother hahaha. Hats off, writer nim. Hats off.
