Thought the same and is actually clever handled that way. Better than the actor being someone else in the next…
Oh interesting. See these are the little things i still don't catch w/ my poor korean and no subs, lol. It would be a good opportunity for YD to get on her good side indeed and i totally see this happening. That is her way to become her favorite person as i doubt now actually that she will die, but soften up. Maybe even a lot, heh. (flashbacks to Five Enough's ML's mother disapproving of and hating FL, before she became her precious, beloved daughter in law later on 😁)

What did clown woman talk about in the restaurant/over lunch that TK cough btw? The actresses mumble whispering deliver of lines drives me insane half of times bc it IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND THE ACTUAL WORDS, lmao. AJH's enunciation so clear in comparison, ngl.

After seeing the exchange in the ER between SJ, TK, and YD - I’m not buying that our main couple is buying what…
I sure hope so, because otherwise it would be waaaaay too frustrating, even for a makjang drama

Dad leaving on a business trip - you can tell they are all saying goodbye to the actor for real. He will come…
Thought the same and is actually clever handled that way. Better than the actor being someone else in the next scene and they act as nothing happened lol. Fortunately both actors bear a good resemblance tho, so the whiplash isn't that stark, heh

Longass rant under spoilers, because i can lol:
Haha, thanks. It is just i was holding out for the leads growing closer due to snore clown's schemes when we have to endure her for 30 minutes minimum each episode to begin with.

But today proved the opposite with TK snuggling up to her despite her being a very lumpy lying pillow, and even forgetting YD exists outside of the obligatory two to five minutes screentime they contractually have to have together each episode to be still called main leads. The shift in their relationship might still happen and even them playing a double game with the snake, but rn i don't hold my breath. Hence my frustrations i yelled out in word form hahaha.

Also let me know these people i am gonna spend 50 hours and weeks with. Because after 15 hours, i know NOTHING about them beyond the initial writers character pitch aka "dude raised by single mother who hates to marry/to commit."

Title The Real Has Come! Spoiler
Longass rant under spoilers, because i can lol:
Yeeees. I loved it so much (still have 10 eps to go but saving them for a rainy day bc it is so wholesome overall) I started to watch it for Shin Hae Sun and stayed for the leads and the kids. So adorable and well done, with every character their own person. Also Yeontae's (SHS) and Sangmin's (Sung Hoon) romance/development gave me so so so much joy and diabetes, i would love to see them lead in a romcom drama together again in the future, heh.

Delulu Clown is bullshitting her way through the whole hospital scene. YD’s memories are fuzzy and her focus…
Haha, thanks. I have fun writing them as it gives me room to let out my FRUSTRATION (or squeeing at the leads last week but there was no reason to squee in this one. At all) felt with the episode and the characters being STUPID. which was a lot today, alas. Sigh. Here is hoping tomorrow will be better, lol.

You are much welcome xD It gives me opportunity to let off steam when things/plot/character decisions in there are scream into pillow category. Which, unlike wholesome last week (eps 14) was definitely the case today, sigh.

Next one will be tomorrow if nothing comes in between. Here is hoping for the leads playing the double game after all. Small chance for this being the case still, but hey better than none.

Title The Real Has Come! Spoiler
Longass rant under spoilers, because i can lol:
Yep yep yep. I could imagine that the producers want to profit off her The Glory fame, but that is already backfiring with knetz being annoyed and bored by her one-note performance, so i don't get it. I still think she is used for the leads to get closer but today was the opposite of that truly. And (so far) it falls very flat.

And I hate to constantly compare to Five Enough bc it is more a wholesome slice of life family weekend show than formulaic screechy makjang with classic villains like TRHC seems to be. Buuuut lemme still do it once more to make a point. After 15 episodes in FE i also had a pretty good sense on who the leads are beyond the writer sale pitch aka "divorced mom with three kids." I knew of their hopes, dreams, fears, what they like and their past and failures/hurt as the drama showed them to me or let me know of them through dialogue of characters talking with each other.

In 15 episodes of TRHC we still know nothing to very little of that so far and its characters, leads in particular, are still as deep as a puddle. (I focus on the leads here as they are what keeps me watching, but your points are super-valid for the other characters you mentioned too, of course.)

What does Taekyung like to do for fun? How does he unwind from work? What are his favorite places? Restaurants? Bars? Outside? What does he dislike outside of getting (forcefully) married and commitment? Favorite things like food, movies etc, aka the small character things that give depth. Same for Yeondoo, really. How did she met her ex? Why did she ever like someone who was clearly an ass? What is their story? What does she like to do for fun? Why has she no friends outside her family? Why has TK no friends outside his family? Why did he ever like SJ when she has always been a giant douche? What is his/her past growing up? Where is his dad, where is hers? WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE, WRITERS? SHOW ME THIS instead to clown around with SJ only, for fucks sake.

It is not the best, mildly put, very filler-esque if you leave out the big grand delulu circus show with its star clown and the leads clapping along like deranged seals at sea. And also because it feels like ten steps back in everything compared to last episode, especially in regards to the leads' attitude toward each other.

Joseon granny however starts to amuse me more than annoy me tho. Snce she is routinely bested by not only Yeondoo, but In Ok and now Bong Nim as well lmao.

Awww!! I miss your old profile pic!!! I loved it. Reminded me of the team every time.I was reading your spoiler…
Sorry about that, lol. I tend to switch it around once i have seen my profile picture too much and get bored lol. I do try to not switch too often tho tp not confuse ppl too much lol ) Still love the taxi fam of course, dw 🚕🚖

The many nicknames for Sejin and co is based on me being unable to settle on a singular one for her. So i just address her with all of them 😂

Longass rant under spoilers, because i can lol:
I have the added problem that the character of Sejin does not work for me and I cannot take her seriously.. It falls super-flat for me. I dunno if it is the acting or writing, but she just bores me to tears with her constant monotone voice and same-face syndrome. She is annoying me not because of the things she does (lemme refer to unable to take this delulu clown seriously) but with how much i have to endure her boring boring screen presence while everything else falls sideways in favor of her.

TRHC was/is my first weekender i picked up, so i have little comparison points regarding the usual pacing of it, except it being very slow. However Five Enough which i had picked up soon after does its pacing and story balance between characters a lot better, imo. It has a heavy focus on developing the leads, their getting to know each other and their romance at the start before the focus gradually fades away to other characters then (w/o forgetting their existence tho.) Which TRHC lacks too much as we see everyone but the leads together.

Like comparing this episode 15 with FE episode 15, the leads there had already fallen in love and entered their "we can't be together" avoidance phase whereas here in TRHC.... they barely even talk or see each other at all, lmao. Like i get slow burn and its overall slow pace due to the 50 eps. But to build a slow burn romance... you gotta actually putting them into a scene and situations together to begin with (like last week with the teacher dude and afterwards) instead of letting their lives/stories run completely parallel and apart from each other, and this despite them cohabitating. Like sorry to tell you that writers, but two scenes and two-five minutes screentime of just them together in an episode won't get you characters madly in love. Or even close to somewhere in the vicinity.

Why aren't they building on their friendship we saw glimpses of last week with them eating ice cream together. Where is the communication, the coordination, further planning between them in order to make their cohabitation work in a believable way? (bullshitting your way through everything, each on their own, will only get you this far, my guys) Where is the teamwork? Why do we see them so rarely just sitting and talk to each other in a scene over lunch/dinner, even without it turning "romantic?" Why are they not forced to play more fake lovey dovey couple to create tension/chemistry between them?

I really thought we were getting somewhere after last episode with TK fussing over YD and smiling at her etc. That we would see them working together because they both have their doubts about lying liar🐍 and want to know her angle. But all we got was them acting like strangers around each other while coddling stonefaced 🤡 as though she she has been their bestie forever, and Taekyung lvl of indifference toward YD reaching 9000 today. I know this is makjang but dear god let the leads have some modicum of consistency so we get at least a sense of progression instead of running in circles with them being turning into braindead puppets in the Sejin show, bc the writer ordered them to DANCE in it.

(Disclaimer: There is still the hidden possibility of the writer wanting to throw us off. And the leads are just playing along with SJ to see her angle bc they do know better than to trust her. However it is played too straight atm and there is no indication of the leads working together/or even each on their own to expose Cruella. And if there is none tomorrow, i will stop taking this possibility into account)

TLDR: The balance between character screentime is seriously slanted/off and the leads are not even in the vicinity to get sufficient development.

Indeed. Granny is shocked that BN isn't holding back her emotions/words (how can you say that) and BN just goes "i will speak my mind/let you know what i think" haha.

And tomorrow it continues with YD ruining granny's gotcha moment where she probably had planned to once more expose her for lying or something 😂 (I just wish YD would wise up as much with Cruella tho)

Ah, finally reached the scene. And BN talks about her restaurant here that she has newly opened, so the flyer is for this, not the school. And granny goes "Why is the chicken at your place so expensive" when looking at the flyer (BN explains that it is a full menu for several people i think), and it escalates from there😂

Yeeeeah. The writer is really not consistent with his character thus far, but that is sadly a theme for both leads atm

Oh same, but it really is better to stop emotionally invested into her antics and just look at her like Joseon Granny. Aka as an overgrown toddler throwing tantrums hahaha

Yes she tried to talk with TK about some texts and what JG said, but it is frustrating how they don't continue that talk later on when they are alone, bc TK's manly ego is hurt too much due to the SP lie she made. So that is the only thing he confronts her about 🙄

She also tells his family that he is bursting into tears randomly and is moody, btw (missed that the first time) lmao
