Also the leads' reluctance to confess their feelings to each other may be frustrating to watch for some here, but it is perfectly in line for their characters. It makes perfect sense that they reacted as they did and shy away from taking it any further due to their respective backstories and/or bad experiences made. (Especially for Dongjin, the scene of him explaining his hesitance broke my heart honestly)
Yo, i read some people being annoyed by Dongjin being slow in everything but this is actually an accurate portrayal of people with depression. I don't know how to explain it when you have not experienced yourself (be glad if you have not), however when you are depressed, basically you run on 0,5x speed at most with everything: thinking, actions and movements. Because everything costs too much effort to do and you cannot simply... snap out of it just like that (like some suggested here ML should be doing.)
As said, hard to explain beyond it being not a good feeling, because everything is just so... hazy. And it is very accurately portrayed by the writers and actor KYK here. This attention to detail is what makes the drama so amazing ngl.
(Also i love how ๐ ๐ ๐ he gets when it comes to Woojoo, but that is a topic for another day๐)
wow wanted to do az rewatch of one of my favorite dramas cant find it anywhere who has the license? Im in the…
Viki had it, this is where i watched it months ago, but their license seems to have expired. Glad i caught it when i could here in germany tho, now your best chance to rewatch is only with the "alternative" pages such as dramacool etc. Could not find a legal source tbh.
Maybe wetv and iQiYi out of the list above works for you tho?
Can someone tell me whether the second couple (Hyesung and Woojoo's best friend) are FL chases ML first? Is there…
i mean FL chases ML alright, but not for romantic reasons (at least at first) hahaha. Even then, calling it chasing would be a stretch... it is more scared and scarred leads running from their obvious feelings. FL is very protective of ML tho, and it is the best thing in this drama. You will see what i mean.
As i said i am build differently because i really love the conflict of rembrary slowly falling in love and it interfering with his duties as priest big time. Now he has fallen, in more than one way. Episode 9 really went in with getting quite bleak in the end. Ironic how him realizing that he loves Dal is what took his powers away, because he was selfish for once in his life. The way he declared he would stay in this world and not go back because of her kinda surprised me in its finality... the man really is committed to her, to choose her over everything else. I stan.
The overall plot is still.... meh in comparison to the personal conflict and characters. We have reached the typical crisis point for the main character/hero now, including all around hopeless situation and turning him helpless in taking away his powers. Ah, such a classic, particularly in fantasy stories. Going into the final episodes this will heighten still and stakes rise more until its resolution. I wish they had shown more of the real WYW in Rembrary's world, how he fares there, why he wanted to stay there, how they actually switched and why etc We know very little about the other man tbh. Maybe it will still happen but so far Evil Bore and his clownish anti-fan schemes take up too much screen time.
If there was one thing i could change about the drama it is NOT the romance, because it is a cute, wholesome get to know each other slowburn, and adds a lot of personal stakes for the leads. It is the addition of the evil one into the modern world, because it would have been much better without that character. In order to focus more on Rembrary dealing with the modern world and such, while he also could have still needed to deal with evil creatures such as the goblins, or so. Evil Bore adds nothing to this story other than making my eyes roll whenever he appears, bc he is such a trite, cliche mustache-twirling villain which only character trait is how loud and evilly he can cackle.
I triedโฆreally didโฆ..i think its time to drop for me. I wish they just made this a comedy without the romance.…
That sounds like a 'you' problem because I enjoy it so much. Will never understand people complaining about romcoms having ROMANCE either, like what did you expect, lmao
When Dongjin smiled in episode 7 due to Woojoo being Woojoo, i was THIS CLOSE to get up and mark it in my calendar at the wall. Because it felt like I have witnessed a true historic event haha
I wonder why the title is "Our Blooming Youth" and the poster is so romantic when 60% of the story is about nasty…
that is just the international title, tho... which often is questionable. In Korea the drama is called "์ฒญ์ถ์๋ด" which translates to "A story of youth" Much simpler less purple prose title i prefer. but yeah don't read too much into the international titles of kdramas (when changed from og), the native one is veeery often more accurate and better.
They have a super cute and chaotic dynamic, as well as are each other's (emotional) support with a lot of trust for each other. Romance isn't just about skinship but souls/heart connections. They definitely have that down, and we are getting to the smooching part now ๐๐
why tf they still talk with that ex of his? am i supposed to not hate her? even tho she CHEATED on him for A WHOLE…
lol right? And then she smugly touted that she didn't get married like a big reveal and achievement on top of that. My cheating summer child, you are not so innocent as you think you are. i need your cheating ass to stay away from this man 100000 steps of distance minimum at all times. yikes.
It has the popular the ex comes back trope, but ML has approx -1000000 interest in her and her attempts to reconcile with him and it shows in every of his interactions with her, lmao.
If this drama ending up with just a little bit romance, i feel get scam by the POSTER and the GENRES, i'm agree…
Can't speak for the romance-y poster but the tags... you can change these at any time. Or rather submit them for approval, so if it turns out to have only slight romance as they keep blue-balling us with its glacial pace haha, a removal of the genre tag is very possible. I would wait how the next episodes develop first tho
how is this one ? i'm only here for park hyung shik and lee tae sun so should i or should i not? how is the romance…
don't go in for the romance with this one tho, or to expect to see much romance happening fast as it is a true slow burn one, in both romance and plot. Personally I love how they develop the characters and the dynamics/relationship... it reminds me more of a novel/book approach to writing than a drama script tbh. Which is not a bad thing for me, as i like the care and room it gives for its characters (to grow/change)
i am amused that so many timed comments on viki are crying about SLS and how they prefer SML and here i am.... and could not be more bored by their supposed love story/his crush on her. He is much better as a friend to her and them only. Then again in almost 200 kdramas I NEVER rooted for the SML thus far, no matter what. He is called SECOND Male Lead for a REASON, after all.
Junho's character however is the most tsundere tsundere that ever tsundered. Aka, I AM NOT IN LOVE, he protested, while his heart raced and her face was the only picture before his eyes, always. And Katy Perry's "Hot And Cold" plays muffled in the background๐
I don't think people hate romance, so much as either (a) unnecessary romance (the original story for this doesn't…
Sure, there is good romance and bad romance. I had my fair share of romcoms watched where i was bored out of my mind/and or the grown ass leads behaved like teenagers blushing at the mere thought of holding hands. It always matters how it is executed and written, of course. But the point is that these days people morph into shrieking banshees by the mere mention of a drama containing romance and "how it would be so much better without it", no matter what the drama is (about), in fact. As though the romance subplot has led their relative behind the barn and shot them dead at point blank and they now have a (very pretentious) vendetta against it. It is so damn weird.
As said, hard to explain beyond it being not a good feeling, because everything is just so... hazy. And it is very accurately portrayed by the writers and actor KYK here. This attention to detail is what makes the drama so amazing ngl.
