The age gap ofโฆ 2-3 years? lmao why are MDL comments always so bizarre
Sadly, In my (painful) experience, particularly in the CCIR comment section, MDL'er are losing their shit when the woman is the one being older, as in "she doesn't fit and/or deserve to be with ML". "He looks too good for her" and other misogynistic verbal diarrhea. Ageism/sexism at its finest (read: worst) as in their mind women aren't allowed to grow old/older and their value as a character/person and actor is determined by their look/youth/beauty alone. While in comparison no one is batting an eye when the ML is (much) older, so it is hypocrisy and double standard on top of all that. Yikes.
How can you not love the fl???? I love this couple soooo damn much and am happy that there is romance in this.…
ikr? kinda feel it is cool to hate romance these days for some stupid hipster reason. Idk but it always seems people feel more distinguished, more enlightened watchers of kdrama then. As if hating romance makes them a smarter person or something, lmao.
I mean having preferences is good and all that, but complaining about a romcom having romance is like biting into a lemon and complain it is sour afterwards. Totally a "you" problem, should have paid attention to what you are "biting in"to begin with, to use that analogy xD๐คทโโ๏ธ
it has started, but it is subtle and not in your face with big gestures or words thus far. Both have feelings for each other but are still swimming in the river of denial heh. Nevertheless slow slow progress has been made each week between them.
I'm confused as well about YJ, I don't know if he likes the Woo Joo or her older sister. What's the explanation…
the muted colors are a reflection of the lead's dark/depressed emotional state. It is especially heavy whenever they reach a crisis point and is light or absent when they are together, have romantic moments (since that are positive emotions ofc)
i love that evil bore's grand plan was her betrayal of Rembrary when putting Dal under his thrall, but all it does is her wanting to nap and chill at home. So relatable lmao. I love her, she is the cutest <3
Not at all in my opinion. I thought it would be bad because the topics covered is overdone, but they made it in…
Couldn't have said it better. There are no worse ideas than to rely on MDL ratings as a quality measurement, which are very overinflated and just a popularity contest. It is so very obvious with some shows, tbh.
Also 8,2 is a good rating, like? It only shows how inflated the ratings are that ppl assume this is bad/low lmao.
Does the plot description mean she ends up having a romance for her step-brother technically?
veeeeery technically tbh. Given the circumstance that FL's father abandoned her 10 yrs (or so) ago, they never had met each other before and her estranged father who was married to his mother is also dead now. So they are not step siblings in any form, not even on paper.
agree with everything you said!! the drama is obv already fun and enjoyable without it but the romance adds that…
Yep, as said it adds another layer of conflict and thus depth to him. Rembrary is funny and a cooky grumpy grandpa on his own, but he is an even better character with that romantic element added to the story. Like another coat of chocolate on confectionery heh. I adore their scenes, because she also challenges him and his rigid belief system, and is practically his tour guide for this world on top of that.
omggg you started this! this show is like actual crack to me, i love it so much. it's absolutely WILD and continues…
aaaand yeees, i am obsessed with call it love and those two dorks by now. I feel the best dramas for me are always those that you expect nothing of but sneak up on you until you think about every detail of character and writing decision. The last drama that that got me so in its choke.hold was May I Help You and now it is CIL indeed. So i could not NOT change my avatar to THEM, bc i already love everything about them and their soft soft dynamic tinged with sadness ๐ญ
omggg you started this! this show is like actual crack to me, i love it so much. it's absolutely WILD and continues…
omg, hi gut dich hier zu sehen haha. I watched it now up to episode 4 and it only gets wilder lmao. This is my first medical drama and i started it on a whim and also because season 3 comes out next month. But booooi i can't say i was tempted to give up on it in between bc all the scenarios etc are so over the top and i cannot take it seriously. It also makes me cringe a lot at times and i dunno if it is due to it being an older drama or just the genre that is so very extra? xD
Teacher Kim reminds me a lot of Dr. House, so they definitely have that gruff weird genius thing going on with him. Both leads are simply annoying the heck out of me atm, but i shall persist as i heard good things about it and am also waiting for the baby version of Yang Sejong (since this is his first role afaik) to appear in here who I LOVED in Thirty But Seventeen (and cannot wait for his post military comeback drama) haha. I think this is one of these shows where you have to roll with its insanity and makjang-y tendencies to be able to enjoy it. As you said so fittingly, it is really crack and not to be taken seriously. Medical was never a genre i sought out before, and now i kinda know why (probs why i still haven't watched the highly rated HP haha) but gotta give it a good try at least.
it does though, they're even deliberately showing how the button of his dress shirt is coming off. his apartment…
Yep this level of attention to detail and visual storytelling instead of spelling everything out is exactly why I have grown obsessed with this drama tbh ๐ญ๐
Feel like new guy will gonna cause problem in future
Would not surprise me tbh, bc in the two dramas I have seen this actor in he played the same unassuming, friendly guy who turned out to be a serial killer ๐ hence my suspicion dialed up to 10000000 when I saw him first saw him here- as seemingly clumsy unassuming new guy. ๐ค๐
Poor Shin Jae Ha, we're just going to suspect him in all the things now
Haha yeeeeep. Because right after CCIR I watched another older crime-fantasy mix drama and he was the unassuming guy in there too. Well until it turned out that he is a serial killer, just murdering ppl with a hammer instead of metal balls this time around ๐ So these impressions really don't help now his unexpected appearance in here hahaha. Gonna side-eye every scene he is in since the producers seem to love to cast him for such roles (and he excels in them too tbh)
So after finishing season one a week ago, I'm finally catching up on season 2 (third eps now) and i'm already side-eyeing the new team member. Because in the two dramas i have seen the actor in, his unassuming character turning out to be a psychopathic killer/backstabber in the end quote was 100% ๐ฌ๐
Shin Jae Ha is a nice person irl i am sure, but sorry not sorry I don't trust this guy whenever he appears in a drama ๐
The colors in the videos are weird. In some dramas, colors like this are used to signify that what is shown is…
um, this is the point of it tho ๐ The muted colors align with the main leads' often dark/depressed emotional state. Which is why you see so much less filter when they have their romantic scenes, that are obviously positive emotions. Particularly in episode 6 where they spend time together/she falls into his arms etc those scenes have normal color grading.
RiP to all not liking the romance but i am build differently ๐๐
Imo, it gives the story the much needed personal stakes and as such Rembrary cannot just cruising through it all until he returns to his world as though he just had some (admittedly very stressful) vacations. It creates conflict for the character on a very personal level, be it causing him pause to return bc he wants to be with her, or with his holy oath/chastity that comes in conflict with his desire to love her. Or rather not trying to love her and failing, heh.
So the romance, and close bond with FL in general, really adds dimension to his (rather one-note, too goody-shoes... if funny) character, since all the things that were very clear-cut for him before are suddenly not that anymore. He suddenly has something and someone to lose in this oh so strange world (for him), be it whether through leaving her behind when/should he eventually goes back or due to evil machinations of his demonic enemy threatening her safety.
Plus i very much enjoy their intimate talks and the way he consoles her/ the way he speaks about (her) mental health struggles. Idk it is just so comforting.
Afaik, organizing camping fairs for companies to present their products at. Would explain his love for camping…
oh i see. Makes sense, so thanks for the additional explanation. Tbh, it took me a while to figure out what they are marketing there at the company, haha
