Korean darth vader ahaha, so true. I agree that the drama lacks depth, but i see it more as a fun romp (between all the messy and miserable kdramas atm) and KJH's acting playground. And since both are hella entertaining to watch, i don't mind it much. Also the show isn't taking itself nearly half as seriously as too many people in this comment section do with their outrage about this silly little kdrama having the audacity to be silly instead a grim-dark fantasy epic xD

Yeeeep, the same "eVErY fANtAsy drAMa iS gObLiN" shit happened to when From Now On Showtime (my underrated beloved <3 ) aired last year. Those goblin.... goblins (pun intended) are like clockwork... a really ANNOYING clock at that, lmao.

It is also a cultural aspect, bc in south korea you address people according to their profession/titles instead of their names. To introduce him as teacher makes sense in that context... and FL has also been addressing him as such since the start/NF subtitles just auto-ignored it and used his name instead. Names are rarely used in that situation, if at all (and first name usage is very intimate, reserved for (married) couples and family/very close friends)

In a sea of heavy kdramas with messy relationships and convoluted plots, my "just roll with it" drama of the week has delivered once more. It is just light, silly fun and i respect and like it for that unpretentious identity. I think i would have preferred it to be a 12 eps drama instead of 16 with that light/simple a plot and quick pace they are moving with, tho. However it is the characters and their dynamics/shenanigans and KJH's acting what makes it woooork and entertaining to watch. I enjoy to spend time with them and their varying degrees of insanity and high levels of "leave me alooone" energy. So relatable 😂 and never a dull moment with them thus far.

Oh and we can't factor out that certain group of stans having a massive hate boner for Kim Jung Hyun either, of course. Not naming them, because then they appear like candyman ready for murder 🙃 (but if you know you know)

After the first, too chaotic episode aired (it was too fast paced and a tad too much plot for one episode) everyone and their uncle lost their shit and rage-quitted in a huff ...but not before declaring in long essays how this show is the worst thing ever having happened to kdrama and clowning in the review section after said SINGULAR episode of sixteen. Multi-tasking their outrage, they spared overly much of it for FL as well and insulted her acting, looks, and ancestry. Then we had, and unfortunately still have the "everything kdrama fantasy ever is only goblin stuck in 2016" crowd whining. Aaaaand now people just hate this silly little kdrama on principle because they enjoy being miserable puny gremlins who hate, well, silly little kdramas that are not *deep* enough for their oh-so enlightened taste. And because hating things is cool now, I guess?

Like, is it the best thing ever? No certainly not, but it is also not trying to be more than a quirky, entertaining and light kdrama with a reincarnation do over romance and characters slowly unfolding. And yet people act like this show has led their relative behind the barn and cold-blooded shot them at point blank.

i was hesitant about her due to that too, but she is actually doing a good job, especially in her scenes and bickering rap battles with KJH. They have a very enjoyable, chaotic dynamic thus far.

Good decision. It has been a long time since I watched it and I'm still mad about FL's and the general shitty treatment of any female characters in this train wreck of a show, and how I wasted 16 hours of my life with this.

Oh no prob. Yeah, episode one is a bit... off in everything, especially pacing lol. It gets better from episode to episode tho, with episode 3 being the best so far. There you also will see what i mean about her acting being toe to toe with KJH even more, heh. He brings out the best out of his acting partners each time. And like the drama itself, it feels she has found her footing now.
