i see, and i agree, but sadly drinking culture in korea is quite heavy and thus alcohol/characters being blind drunk for funsies/ as comic relief culturally translates also into almost every kdrama as a trope. Unfortunately, so.

The site that most people watch this on (VIKI) didn't release the latest episode yet. Not sure what the reason…
Could be the case idk, but generally it is a safe bet to say any airing episode is to be released a day later, as it depends when viki gets the raw episode from the network and how long it takes the subbers to do their magic work then. The one exception to this rule i have seen so far was From Now On Showtime, which released fully subbed like 2 hours after first airing.

I have also rarely, if ever, seen it been released raw on viki, maybe it had been the case before i had used the service (since only half a year), but given how people scream "WHERE THE SUBS" and give angry one star reviews in these cases it is probably better if they don't release them raw anymore. Idk tho, just my rather limited experience/assumption with/about viki, is all 🤣

why there is a delay in episode?
the reason is the unpaid, volunteer subbers need time to translate the copious amount of dialogue and general korean text, then time it right. So one day delay to release is already very fast.

Yet another screaming, alcoholic & loud as hell FL.This pretty much seems to be standard template in most Kdramas. What…
It is the drinking culture in korea that is generally extreme and as such it also translate into kdrama, alas. The worst example i have seen in a drama was in Marriage not dating and Another miss oh where the narrative encouraged its characters to drink to the point of passing out as soon they faced the slightest emotional problem. Which was painful to watch, as it happened nearly daily in these dramas. But yeah, alcohol consumption is so normalized in korea that it has become a romance kdrama trope of mostly FL being carried home piggyback by ML after drinking for lolz/skinship. (Have seen it subverted a lot too in newer dramas tho, where smaller FL does that with ML) Stuff like that.

I don't mind it as long it is on an one off base and does not reach alcohol dependency lvls like in the dramas i named. I wonder if you react to a drunk ML (doing crazy things) just as strongly that it becomes a dealbreaker for a drama, tho.

The scene in this drama here is more an one off comic relief one. It does not define her character, neither makes her a lesser one. Nor does being drunk one time make her into an alcoholic. So let her sing karaoke into the baseball bat and play with the shower head in peace to blow off some steam. Gurl has a stressful enough job/life outside of it.🤷‍♀️

Also why is no one ever asking the same of the ML? Like for example here in this drama his noble idiocy, emotional…
This was just meant as an example to illustrate the double standard. I still like ML well enough, but i have experienced/seen people picking apart FL's for far less than that. Or, like here, ppl asking even before watching how annoying FL is, and before doing so needing assurance of others that "she is one of the good ones." (whatever that means) While i have never seen ML getting the same treatment, aka asking if ML in drama xy is annoying or similar. That is my whole point.

Because it is an irritating double standard. I am not saying op criticized FL in this drama, it is just the preconceived notion of FL being annoying by default by asking such questions before even watching that people do in general which i notice to be prevalent everywhere, no matter what FL's do or not. They are not even given a chance and least of all the room or patience for development as ppl ALWAYS do with ML, no matter how flawed he may be. And that is really, really the one thing that is annoying, not FL.

ML here for example may not be fully void of empathy but he does lack it on an interpersonal level, which shows how he treated the clients seeking advice in the cafe, for example. I know it is played for laughs and thus not taken seriously by the narrative or posing a problem, but i bet if FL would do the same people would call her all kind of names and hate her for it. And that is the kind of hypocrisy i am fed up of, hasn't even much to do with OP asking or not, but it is a general attitude problem toward female characters i see happening everywhere in drama fan spaces.

Is this another drama with a noisy FL that will get on your nerves?
Also why is no one ever asking the same of the ML? Like for example here in this drama his noble idiocy, emotional constipation and lack of empathy (outside of FL) is getting on my nerves. But no this is never called annoying with ML, here it is a "character flaw". God beware if FL dares to be less than perfect tho.

If you have such an attitude and prejudice before even starting to watch the drama, i am not surprised there are too many people who call female characters/leads annoying, no matter what they or don't do. Which tbh, is the only annoying thing there is.

Shin hye sun is underrated? I don't think so
Yeah, i was wrong here half a year ago, admittedly. I know better now, though internationally she still is imo, but in korea she is big big biiiiig and very much valued for her talents. As she deserves.

I can't wait for her new drama tho, it has been too long and i really miss her onscreen.

omg thats probably the reason why I couldnt figure out the tone of the drama because there´s not a clear plot…
This is an official *PWP kdrama tbh (*Plot, what plot?) 🤣

Title Healer
Hmm ngl, so far (episode 5) the drama failed to draw me in, like the whole plot is boring (corrupt politicians scheming? Groundbreaking) and confusing af due to too many characters involved and related to each other in one way or the other (I googled a relationship chart and it did not help lmao)

As someone who plays video games, i am strongly reminded of Watch Dogs, only as korean drama. Same vibe. The action/stunt scenes/healer's movements however feel like taken right off an assassin's creed game, which is surely pretty to look at, but next to humanly impossible to do. Tis way too overboard and with a forced "look at me i am so cool/badass/invincible" cheese vibe. Thus it make me cringe/laugh a lot... surely not it intended purpose lol.

The only thing that keeps me watching atm are the main leads and JCW (when in his clark kent disguise persona) being cute as heck and i am kinda invested into their development/story. So it is kinda like most sageuk dramas are in a way, aka where I have to bear the boring palace scheming parts (here it is corrupt politicians) to get back to the parts that are actually interesting for me.

i just love FL...she is a real time bomb, when will explodes no one knows, like literally no one knows, and ML…
watching episode 5 after reading your comment, the description bomb defuser could not be more apt for Jungho xD I imagine irl such people are exhausting and high maintenance but i so enjoy Yuri as a character and all the chaos she wrought so much😆 She is a refreshing FL, who is straightforward, confident, intelligent and with the heart in the right place. LSY knows exactly when to turn it up to eleven and when to show her character's more quieter, vulnerable side as well, which adds a lot to her depth <3

Title Vagabond
It starts out with some crazy action then it becomes your normal boring political thriller. No 2nd season is needed…
So tis like Big Mouth then? Starting strong but turns into boring politics thriller and unfinished nonsense in the end? Wow... the writer is kinda an one-trick pony, eh? I intended to watch Vagabond for more of LSG but i don't want to invest another 16 hours that end up in disappointment, so nah.

Also if you (general you, not you specifically but feel free to feel addressed lol) like romance/comedy, the currently airing The Law Cafe with LSG is also a great, more light choice to watch more of him. Since i finished FoE as well as BM lately, I have not the mental energy for Mouse atm, so i think i will stick to Law Cafe as the singular LSG drama for the time being, then.

Thing is though, the ending can make or break a drama/story and for me it was the latter, alas.
Oh i have no doubt of that. I really enjoy Lee Seung Gi in Law Cafe right now, he is a superb actor i planned to see more of, but welp. I am not gonna invest another 16 hours to be let down like this again in the end, if i can avoid it.

Strong overall script, rushed ending & the worst possible ML acting ever.- Brilliant story and equally awesome…
I think his prison scenes were great and convincing, especially when he acted as BM, but it is everything after that (when he was released etc) where i feel he started to phone it in a lot.

I have seen now 4 dramas with him and he has only convinced me with his acting in only 1 1/2 of them (RIABB and half of BM) The rest was rather meh. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
