okay i am not far in, like episode 2 but all the many many scenes with that reporter guy and his sister (?) bore me to tears and i cannot bring myself to care one bit for these characters. Like my urge to skip their scenes is rising each time he/they appear on screen, which is way too often thus far. Otherwise it is old but charming thus far, scenes of FL and her cafe fam and ML are amusing me.
I can't believe you watch with timed comments! That drives me nuts, turned it off years ago
haha no prob. Like i really don't mind a comment as you watch function it is often amusing too, but as said has its downsides as well of course. And as long you have the option to opt in or out and are not forced to use it, why not? I really prefer to watch dramas on viki due to that by now, tbh.

Oh l like it a lot actually to comment on certain scenes but at the same time it also let's me doubt the intelligence of some viewers when they miss very obvious things lmao. It depends on the drama and the drama age if u have a good or bad experience with it I found. With FNOS every week it was a lotta fun to use it a lot since not many people have been commenting (same for good job) but watching an older dramas can become a test of patience with timed comments on and people's stupidity. Especially when it comes to them always criticizing the female lead no matter what she does or not does, while ML gets praised. Ugh. Bit of a double-edged sword the function but for the most part it enhances the drama watch for me lol
You have to turn off your critical eye and logic for this drama in order to enjoy it, which I did and now I am…
The last part tho, so true π€£ Like nothing happened in the latest episode regarding the overarching nonsense others call plot, but we had Bossam couple save each other, escape to his mother's summer resort, romantically clean everything while teasing each other. A market date inclusive dressing up and walking in slow-mo toward the camera. Then her dressing up his wound in the most obscene way. while their childhood connection got unlocked. Also her having a ,nightmare, inclusive him comforting her and even more obscene handholding. Her sleeping in his lap. And ofc a bicycle date inclusive picnic at a river.
So no wonder episode 12 was 1 hour and 13 minutes long since the writers had to pack SO MUCH Bossam modern AU fanfic in there π€£π
I get the concept of the show is that of getting back together, improved and lessons learned from the other "world" etc, but it is so frikkin weird how their kids are mentioned for a hot minute and then never again. Like he never misses them or feels the need to do right by them/fix it so they exist? Every crisis he has is about his wife only it is as if he didn't care for his kids at all. What a damn weird writing choice/oversight tbh. Go Back Couple did it so much better in this regard.
Also, i have not finished the drama yet, so have the children ceased to exist forever now?
People in the timed viki comments: Why haven't they called the cops yet?Me, thinking: Shhht, be quiet before you…
Then again, to dress up as korean ghostbusters and walk in slo-mo into the bandits' den to save their friend INSTEAD to call the cops is EXACTLY the thing i expect this drama to do and it delivered, Bless π€£ π€£ π€£

A step by step how-to guide for all new viewers starting to watch this drama:
1) Bring popcornπΏ 2) Turn off your brain. 3) Embrace the cheese/cringe. 4) Embrace the tropes 5) Embrace the nonsense. 6) Eat popcorn 7) Have fun π
Infact, am convinced that they purposely made it that way.....because am so puzzled how this script passed review....
Right? Like, you can't tell me they were writing a story about a CEO with a secret batcave and a woman with super eyesight which usage however makes her dizzy, and they didn't know what (deliberate) nonsense they were producing there π€£
damn that was some makjang plot twist at the end of this episode lmaooo
To the surprise of no one, bc they telegraphed that "plot twist" several miles ahead tho, it was more a matter of when the character in question would find out which i was dreading, haha.
Yeah. it is very character driven and focused with the relationships and stories about the people in the hospice and such. So yeah, it is slice of life-ish with every character having their own background and story.
i dropped this a long time ago but i am a bit on a wookie drama binge atm, so i am kinda tempted to give it another go one of these days to see if it gets better after all. For now tho, naaaah, too many other dramas to watch
You have to turn off your critical eye and logic for this drama in order to enjoy it, which I did and now I am…
i mean, i am used to always watch or rather consume media with a pair of critical eyes too as i know a lot about narrative structure/character development and all the technical writing stuff that makes a story come together, so it is hard to not notice if things are being off. But here, nah i make the active choice not to, while being aware how stupid/incoherent most of it is. Because it is just harmless, silly fun to laugh at for a little over an hour per episode, and nothing more. Sometimes it is just that and that's okay too, hasn't to be deep/profound/grim or whatnot all the time.

Thus it is my fave turn off my brain drama of the week tbh. Other things are already grim/complex enough so I appreciate its funny nonsense tbh π
