So far, this drama is a bit of a mess, tbh. FL has still the character depth of burned toast, SML is an obnoxious, entitled and manipulative brat who disregards every of her decisions and agency, and the story of codependency between rude af scam lady and FL is weird and unhealthy as hell. FL agreeing to the contract with SML is also contrived as hell and feels forced, just so the writers can push that love triangle trope upon us. And yet... and yet I have the time of my life with this drama atm and the whole reason is the ML. I also like FL's bestie (hope he gets an arc beyond token best gay friend tho) and the sense for character of Jamie cat bc she hates SML. Now THAT is a smart kitteh 😂
But tbh, GKP and his character Ji Ho really carry this drama. He is just so very relatable (to me, as an introvert) and one of the best written introverted characters i have seen due to it (they are really too rare.) Like the awkward moment when you sit in a packed subway/bus etc next to someone and have to get something out of your pockets. Oh god i hate that. Using earphones in a public space, so people don't talk to you. Or being put on the spot by a waiter etc and forced to order right now which is really the woooooorst. So like him i would pick the first thing that comes to mind so i am no longer the center of attention, even if i don't like it. Or power walking away from your noisy, way too extroverted coworkers, particularly the one who is always, always gossiping and never shuts up. (Shutting the door on her while she still talked was hilarious) Him rummaging over (awkward) things done and said later on, and being deep in thought/overthinking it to the point of imagining the worst case scenario. (Him yelling out "death sentence" had me rolling) (Thinking of) being in tune with your feelings while simultaneously being completely oblivious to them. Deep thinking in general in order to process past situations and feelings before even talking with others about it. Once the mind is made up however it is only going forward. No exceptions. (as seen w/ his "she is my wife, leave her alone or regret it" scene) Also him being calm on the outside but ready for murder inside. And him just walking away when SML asked him to take the cat and let him have a monologue on his own, no longer caring was the best🤣 I felt that and wished i could do this more often to annoying people around me 😂 His level of petty is also my level of petty tbh🤣
In short, my love for this man grows with each episode (and for the actor too, ngl) I haven't enjoyed a ML this much since "From Now On Showtime" and every minute he is on screen is a minute well spent in this kdrama.
Now is probably a good time to visit ur nearest pharmacy and buy all their headache medications for whats to come.…
Ugh yeah. I can tolerate a love triangle trope in a drama as long it makes even a lick of sense for FL to be attracted to SML or something like that. Here though? I see nothing of that, particularly with how (crappy) he treats her and constantly disregards her agency.
Yea I was super surprised when I saw almost all comments on other social media supporting 2ML. How can they not…
I only have seen GKP in Chicago Typewriter thus far but there he was one of the main reason i kept watching when ML was still a paranoid man child. He plays the mixture of weird cute so well tbh 😁 And in this drama his character and his adorable and relatable introvert energy is the main reason why I am looking forward to new episodes. Never liked SML tbh 🙈
Why illegal? In Japan you can hire someone to be a boyfriend/girlfriend, there's literally a whole agency for…
Well, in Korea to be legally married you have to register the marriage in order to have it legally valid/acknowledged and binding, Afaik, registering the marriage can take quite a while at times, so FL is basically just holding a lot of wedding partie....ceremonies to appear married to the client's fam etc, without any legal meaning. She is, however, married to Jiho for real for the past five years, registered and all. Hence why they have to go through the complete divorce process to part ways, so to speak.
How is this drama? I really like PMY and surprisingly loved FLAW too. It’s not available on Netflix so was wondering…
i am mainly staying due to ML. He is an introvert/socially awkward dork with face journeys aplenty whenever FL does anything. Honest to the point of being too blunt for the people around him, so he prefers to not speak most of the time. First two episodes basically are a red herring where you are led to believe he is a creep, when he just does not want to socialize with his very outgoing/too loud co-workers and go home instead. (I can relate to that a loooot as introvert hahaha)
But of course this is Korea, so socializing w/ coworkers (outside of work) is mandatory 🙈 It is amusing to see him being pushed into those situations and how he navigates them. Or fails to, more like. His "gotta go fast" march toward his office in order to avoid talking to them never gets old xD FL/ML have an interesting dynamic and definite attraction for e/o that remains unspoken though. The plot points outside the mains are rather messy and not terribly interesting thus far, tho. I hate SML somewhat fierce too for many (more or less spoilery) reasohs. Too bad they are going forward with this annoying love triangle, because i could watch the mains interact for hours alone.
The fact people think the ML is boring shows you what introverts and socially awkward people have to go through…
Ikr? Just say you hate shy/introvert/socially awkward people and leave, ugh. Introvert here, and I relate hard to ML's wish to stay at home instead to be forced to socialize with co-workers. Because it is exhausting and he understands that. Basically this character and his high introvert energy is the reason why i am enjoying this otherwise mess of a drama, ngl xD Like, this is him, 100% and i love him for this🤣:
I just hope they don't change him to the point where he becomes a outgoing, social butterfly/party tiger in the end, or something like that. While learning to handle social situations (better) is never wrong, the awkwardness is part of his charm. Besides, he is well-mannered, earnest (maybe a bit too blunt, even🤣), and he drank his respect women juice on top of that. (Unlike SML, lmao) What is not to love? So I hope the writers don't feel pressured to change him too much to fit him more into the usual ML mold, bc this is exactly why i like him.
You had me at more romance and Skinship! Currently watching Korean Version and super frustrated because ML is…
How far are you into Flower Of Evil? Because while he is like this in the beginning, it is waaaaaaay different as the whole story and his character's layers are peeled back, bit by bit. And tbh, i have rarely seen a ML who is so ride or die for his drama wife :D
She was most likely type casted you can't do other roles if they are not offer to you. I bet she was offer alot…
Yeah, i liked it, but wasn't too enthusiastic about SOM either. Tho it was quite a different role for JCW, hence why i named it. (also first time i saw him in a drama, but he impressed me to the point of seeking out more of his works, in IYWUM, ngl. Loved it <3 )
Action and maybe thriller would be a nice change for PMY indeed, instead of only playing only the prim/perfect office worker/girlboss barbie type.
Am i weird if i never get SL syndrome in rom coms? Nope not here either. 😂 They always try to weasel their…
I never had it either, like i am always with the leads. The SML's i have seen in over 100 kdramas have always shitty timing, are not really interesting or downright creepy/abusive. Best video to describe every SML ever is one here xD

Agreed, but funny how you mention JCW in that example. Since he did and still does his best to break out of the action romance drama combo, which Sound Of Magic and If You Wish Upon Me showed well, imo. Ironically i have seen a lot of his so called fans on mdl criticize for his choice of roles because they are so "different" now, and no hit dramas like Healer, wha whaaaa.
Tho given his stellar performance in his latest drama where he played a male survivor of abuse trying to move on/find his place in life, he does fine and broke out of being typecast by broadening his skills/roles. Unlike PMY tbh.
His last tattoo. Oh wow. Healing over scar. Love over hate. Love the symbolism. But I'm curious...is this type…
it is definitely a thing, but as said highly dependent on the skill of the tattoo artist and a lot more expensive than graphical/comic style tattoos due to so much detail work, i imagine. Look at these, they look like a photo:
Guys the_sapio _nerd review is Hate just put no to that review pick someone else to say yes
i am so annoyed by seeing this user and his crappy opinions everywhere, and that despite having them blocked. Like, why tf does MDL show his reviews even if blocked? I couldn't caaaaare less about what he thinks about a drama, even if i were at gunpoint forcing me to, lmao
The side plot was a little draggy for me when I first watched it, but the main leads' story and tension is what…
Yeah, could be the case of course but I will give it two more episodes to decide if it sticks with me or I will drop it after all. Maybe I wasn't in the right mood for it either, dunno. But yeah as someone who watched almost exclusively dramas from the past 1-4 years, it really shows its age.

Make it make sense, writers 🙄
