This and it saddening that as long as ppl hype these MLs up, we won't get good ones again. I don't need them to…
Watching Run On rn, it is weird to see him in a support role where he has actually much more screentime, lines and relevance than he ever had in his main role in EAW. And yet EAW is his breakthrough? Strange how things work tbh.
That being said, i love sweet/kind "green flag" ML's much more than the cold arrogant jerk archtype but you can write those sweet ML's with equally or more substance. Just treat him as a human with wants, flaws, fears, likes, hobbies etc that exist outside of FL, is all. (Tho ngl, my fave ML archetype are the ones who scream "I DON'T CARE" and act indifferent, but all their actions show they do. A LOT. Constantly. The (not so) secret cinnamon roll as i call them haha)
Those "old" dramas with both leads being important and fleshed out are not gone, you simply watched wrong ones…
Oh no problem it will be worth the wait and is one of my faves right now. Just be beware of spoilers running rampant when the drama is over, as it is best watched as unspoiled as possible, since the guessing game is half of the fun.
Special shout out to From Now On Showtime if you like well written MLs that are more than meets the eye and where both leads are different people in the end as they were starting out (bc, yknow character development), leads who challenge and support each other, as well as good communication/problem solving skills between them. Same for Crazy Love here, though it works the Enemies to Lovers angle much more than FNOS does, where they only start off on a wrong foot but quickly find common ground :D
This is one of those dramas that you HAVE to watch while itโs airing because the theories & speculations are…
also less chance of some idiot spoiling the big plot twist/ending for you in the comments when you watch it while it is airing. (Reason why i won't ever check the Mouse/Flower Of Evil comment section until i have watched both shows tbh)
hi,just out of curiousity how so? i just watched the show and i couldn't see it, not that your opinion doesn't…
I was gonna rec you FNOS as it checks all the boxes you named, but then i looked at your watchlist and saw that we pretty much like the same dramas, so i got nothing now, sorry haha ๐
I know this is fiction but I just find it funny that hairy boss and geurami still make a living when no one goes…
Perhaps Hairy is a secret rich boi who only does the restaurant as a hobby, or so lmao. But yeah weird how they never showed other customers coming in.
How is Alchemy of Souls, is the story really good ? I've heard good things overall, but is it heavy on romance…
Yeeeeeeah, I liked it in the beginning but the meager plot is really dragging itself along/stretched out over 20 eps and started to bore me a while ago. It wasn't something special to begin with, if you ever watched western or anime fantasy. It is as standard as standard it can get with a kpop-ish coat of paint and heavy adolescent "everyone falls in love with the leads bc they are so speshul" nonsense. The writing reminds me of a run of the mill Young Adult fantasy book with all the annoying tropes within, which wouldn't be as much of a problem if it not also would pretend to be as deep a story as a elaborate 6 book fantasy saga. Imo an okay watch to kill some time and some parts are entertaining, but definitely not the must watch best ever 9.0 drama its adamant stans make it out to be. But YMMV, idk. I would probably like it better too if i hadn't already seen/watched/read/played the same old story/plot elements being used a hundred times before across all different media.

Yeeees exactly, and good list. Would also add the currently airing Poong TJP and Big Mouth to it (Lee Jong Suk is hitting it out of the park in this role, much better than in any of his romantic ones tbh), where both leads are equally amazing/important.
I guess there are really watchers/readers like you who didn't see anything compelling unless the characters is…
Yeah it would have been really easy to build in a few small scenes that show more of what he likes and his background. All can be done in dialogue or small scenes (show us what he is doing outside work, something he is passionate about, his dislikes etc) that wouldn't have taken away the focus on YWY either, tbh. It is really basic writing/character progression and even that was missing, alas.
Sorry, don't agree with you at all, so did millions of viewers around the world.Watching a 16 episodes drama is…
Lol, popularity of a piece of media doesn't mean it is flawless, (or in other cases even good, see Twilight or shit like that) nor that those flaws shouldn't be pointed out. Neither does it devalue the drama or how it is overall beloved if people look at it with a more critical eye. I think especially since it is was so successful it is important to point out what could be improved upon.
It is an excellent analysis of its writing and i could not agree more . And yes while drama and novel are very different mediums, the writing of characters, aka the approach to the progression and organic development process and execution is something that is universally similar and thus transcending the differences between visual/word/text-based mediums.
After this drama, I can't find another interesting drama. Is there something worth to watch?
Dunno what you have watched or like, but these are dramas I really enjoyed from this year and the last two years:
From Now On Showtime Crazy Love Mystic Pop Up Bar Mr. Queen Poong The Joseon Psychiatrist (currently airing) Big Mouth (currently airing) Dali And The Cocky Prince Vincenzo Thirty But Seventeen From Now On Showtime (bears repeating lol) Link, Eat, Love, Kill
It means he (Joo Jong Hyuk as Min Woo) has done a great job in portraying his role:https://kbizoom.com/extraordinary-attorney-woo-actor-joo-jong-hyuk-people-unfollow-me-because-of-my-villain-role-even-my-family-members-swear-at-me/
aww it is always sad when ppl cannot differentiate the actor from a negative character. The reactions prove his acting was great/believable, but he should not be looked at by people as though there is no difference between character and the actual human being behind it. He was just doing his job, after all.

AoS stans are active again, i see. Couldn't disagree more with it being no.1 tbh. It is a draggy fantasy version of BoF pretending to be deep as the ocean when it is actually a puddle.
For me: From Now On Showtime, Tomorrow, EAW (even if the latter half was pretty subpar), Crazy Love, Link, Eat, Love, Kill, Sh**ting Stars and that's it, pretty much.
Same here๐.Someone plz give me a cure(a good drama recommendation)
Second Poong, this drama needs more love. Also From Now On Showtime. Mr. Queen is always a good choice too if you have not watched it yet. All shows are on viki.
Episode 11 and i kinda lost interest since the narrative is so slow and the episodes so (too) long. Putting it on hold for now until i find the right mood to continue watching it. Definitely interesting in finishing it tho.
Hehe, I love how you keep checking this comment section and playing "tour guide" for new watchers. Because i do the same with FNOS and i keep coming back to CL's page too here and there :D
It is not confirmed, lol. Just wishful thinking of network CEO rn, bc he smells the money and everyone ran with S2 being confirmed due to his words. None of the staff or actors are aboard or even knew about it thus far.
Still my favorite of this year and one of my all time faves in general. Because after starting off on a wrong foot, they grow together, support and challenge each other in equal parts, and openly talk about issues and misunderstandings arising, before they can become unsolvable problems between them. They bring out the best or rather the authentic self in each other. It is a refreshingly mature and yet quite innocent (first serious love for both of them), cute and wholesome relationship between them that takes appropriate time to develop and feels organic to their characters. It is slow burn done right, imo. Plus they are equally chaotic and bicker like a married couple haha.
