Can't believe this ML is the same stonefaced ML from 'Touch My Heart' tbh. Happy to see his role in this drama allows him more range than "One stare blank face," combo and it totally shows. I enjoy his acting here a lot more.
Saaaame, dreamy, saaame :D I may not watch both shows with the same eagerness i did have for FNOS but they are…
Aww np friend. Sleep is important haha. I getcha, i have cut down on my airing dramas a lot lately too (from 8 to 4, since i have a lot older ones yet to catch up on and/or they haven't held my interest (why her, dear m), or for other reasons (Cafe Minamdang being too similar to FNOS in plot and i cannot get over my mindset of comparing them. And with YC 2 i wanna wait out its ending until i decide if i pick it back up.) So before you feel overwhelmed waiting a bit is definitely the right approach. EAW is very much worth picking up then, when you are ready, tho ;) )
Not the best one. Extraordinary Attorney woo and Alchemy of souls are much better.
Yeeeep, AoS is a fun fantasy romp for me, but i don't think twice about the plot, characters or drama after i watched the latest episode. I love AoS because i can turn off my brain and simply enjoy the leads bickering and their antics. But yeah, it does not linger or hit on the same lvl as Link does for me. Link is a slower, more heavier watch but it hits so very different because of the drama's narrative using such a close pov of the characters, their feelings/thoughts, and showcasing their trauma and their dealing with it. It is more intimate, relatable and real in lot of ways for me than characters who are trying to gaining back/control magical energy or who are the lost child of a king of course, lmao. Yin Goo's acting also helps here a lot, as what could have been overwrought and clichรฉd with other actors he manages to portray as raw, heartwrenching like a punch to the guts, so real. Love it.
And while Link makes me sob like a kid which candy got taken away, Extraordinary Attorney Woo is shaping up to become my comfort watch during the week tho. Along with Jinxed At First.

Netflix shows always are more popular by default since they have the widest reach/best availability. Also popular isn't equal to best, that is, as said above, always subjective to everyone individually.
From Now On Showtime is THE drama you wanna watch if you search for something similar to MPUB, because both shows have the same lead writer and share a lotta themes/tropes. So worth it, really :D
The character babi is in the devil's judge drama? Interesting ๐ค๐Joke aside tho and a general PSA at people,…
Hehe that is fine. Sorry if I came off as harsh here I'm just tired of people blaming actors for the roles they play is all, hence my probably disproportionate rant at your joke. Good to know the meaning behind it now tho, so I apologize for it.
I can't say I'm shocked by Babi, I didn't like him since the devil judge๐คฃ
The character babi is in the devil's judge drama? Interesting ๐ค๐
Joke aside tho and a general PSA at people, please (learn to) differiatiate the actors from the roles they are playing, as they are just doing what they are told to do via a script. Not liking a character in a story is one thing and legit, but there is no need to dislike the actors playing said character for literally doing their job tbh. (happens a lot with Park Hae Jin who is a cinnamon roll irl but hated on/dismissed as a person/actor by ppl due to (a selected few of) his roles, so that has become a bit of a kdrama/fandom pet peeve of mine by now tbh. whoops )
I actually liked eps 5 and 6 best so far because they were so focused on the main leads and their relationship instead of some magical mumbo jumbo/politics subplot where my ffw finger is always itching lol. Like in a story it is important to take and spend sufficient time for/with its characters and not only bombard the viewer or reader with new plotstrings left and right. Let them marinate in the characters and their slow but steady progress in their dynamics with each other instead. Make them relate to/care for the chars in quiet moments so you can hit them over the head with plot later where the stakes are high for them. Really writing 101 ๐
Hence why the last eps may not be as 'epic' they are needed in between for the story/characters to have room to breathe.
JangUk ... he's confused about his feelings towards Mudeok ๐๐ i keep laughing at his small tantrums and…
I mean... he straight out said that he has feelings for her, when he talks with the maid kim in the latest eps. MD is the reason why he does not want to marry the other girl, and also not drink that chaste tea ๐ต(her being the reason he wants to hold on to his libido will never not amuse me tbh) Like he catches himself at the last moment before he adds a 'you' to his "because of...." sentence, when asked by her for the reason๐๐คญ
I think you hv watched it? the hottest kiss in kdramaland? ๐
Haha, i did indeed. That man can kiss, hoooboooy. I still like the ladder kiss in Crazy Love and that distract the guards kiss in mr. queen a tinsy tiny bit more but they are all so goooood. Definitely a kiss to remember hehe.๐ฅ
The drama itself was a bit of a mess, especially editing/directing-wise. (so many continuity errors, omg) And the plot wanted to do too many things at once and excelled in nothing unlike FNOS heh. Would have been much better if it only had focused on a few things instead of throwing all the genres/tropes in. Still i really enjoyed the main couple and their story once they had committed to each other and stopped their overly long push and pull game. They had many cute scenes and in quite a few of them where they were carefree and smiley, you see the real PHJ coming thru instead of his character, i feel. Totally adorable.
But so far these guys do not know who they are dealing with... Uk knows more but still... he does not know everything.
Not just only mad behind her but we also got a confession of sorts in the recent episode that he has feelings for her (the talk with his maid kim.) I mean and water is wet, what a surprise lol, but still nice to hear it directly from the source (aka his never-quiet mouth) and yay for progress ๐
She also modulates her voice so well in The King's affections to sound (more) like a guy, so no surprise here.…
Yes i have. It was the kdrama which pushed me down the kdrama rabbithole late last year haha. It gets a bit draggy toward the middle to the end as the story does not need the twenty episodes it has, but with a bit of patience and one finger on the skip button it is very much watchable imo. Some things also do require a suspension of disbelief or are just plain out plot-dumb, but oh well, that is kdrama for you lol.
Other than that i really liked it, PEB is excellent as ever with her "masculine" mannerisms as tiny tiny guy, and she is a perfect ML haha. It has a bit of humor, a whole lot of politics/palace intrigues and lots of "against all odds" romance (Rowoon is the cutest smitten kitten and female lead, no no typo haha, see what i mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eEDjRdLBaQ) It has all the typical gender bender historical drama tropes, but what it does well is subverting the gender roles of ML/FL and with it all the typical romance tropes. Like FL is the one who is in the position of power instead the other way around, trained with a bow and sword and cold/closed off, while ML is serving under her, loves books and gardening and is way more on the soft, kind puppy side of things. (His love confession still lives rent-free in my head half a year later, bc it was so good. A total Bi-icon, that man <3 )
A love triangle is there but it is very one-sided from the SML, so it never leads to anything. It is also a slower drama in pace, so if you watch it you need a bit of patience to get into the meat of the story. Just give it a go and see if it something you can stick with. Unlike me bingewatching however, i think it is more a drama for watching an episode here and there tho.
Should have named this drama "Everyone wants to date Mu Deok/Naksu" tbh๐ She has like... three LI by now?๐ (That number is understandable tho as i would love to date her too ngl)
Y'all, I can't believe how much Park Eun Bin can change her voice, it's so different from her voice in her previous…
She also modulates her voice so well in The King's affections to sound (more) like a guy, so no surprise here. She is along with Shin Hye Sun one of Korea's best actresses, imo.
