He couldn’t refuse a direct request from the king, so I don’t blame him, but when we were first shown that…
The last part bothers me sooo much tbh because him being the king's son makes no frikkin sense. Sorry but i cannot suspend disbelief enough to forget how it works lmao.
I appreciate they did a fantasy setting without historical constrains that goes way off the rails, however the…
I know it is fantasy... buuuuut even soul-switched how tf is ML the child of the king? Like he used the body of the other guy to sire the child, so BIOLOGICALLY he is still the child of the one guy not the king because yeeeeeah this is how it works. I just can't suspend belief enough to forget this fact and it BOTHERS me lmao
I appreciate they did a fantasy setting without historical constrains that goes way off the rails, however the worldbuilding/factions/politics either make my head hurt or bores me if i am honest. Kinda feel like i need a cheat guide to understand it all in detail instead of half. On the other hand, that is good enough for me as only half of it interests me so far... lol. Namely the main leads and their dynamic, as well as the two friends. They are why i watch this drama and Uk already being so whipped by/for FL tbh xD. All the other characters and that whole drama around ML's heritage are either skippable or eyeroll-worthy for me.
Oh gosh I was looking for some reincarnated lovers dramas to fill the "from now on showtime" sized hole in my…
Oh yeah Mystic Pop up bar is the next best thing to FNOS. Kinda regret that I already have watched it now but oh well 😅 Also watched legend of the blue sea but it was boring overall and way too many episodes for that little bit of a plot tbh.
Oh gosh I was looking for some reincarnated lovers dramas to fill the "from now on showtime" sized hole in my…
Gotta search for a good reincarnated lovers fix, but this ain't it. So i never started watching this drama, seems i made the right choice lol I think i will try to watch Chicago Typewriter instead hehe
why no romance :(edit: I just saw the wikipedia page and there’s romance in the genre so I’m definitely continuing…
Try "From Now On Showtime" for this. Very similar to this show but with romance. I actually hope this show will temper my withdrawal from it, bc it has been two weeks now w/o it, and i still miss it tbh.
going to miss this drama so much, it's pretty new experience even for the viewer, maybe we need more fantasy romance,…
If you like fantasy romance try the recently aired and very much overlooked "From Now On Showtime" on Viu/Viki, which does a stellar job in blending different genres imo :)
As much as I'm enjoying the mystery thriller part, I'm not enjoying the romance part that much. They both have…
Chemistry is always a subjective matter for everyone tho. I for one do see their romantic development/potential even if it is subtle thus far. I think the actors do a fine job in creating it subtly with microexpressions, reactions to each other to show the slow shift in their relationship. We will definitely see more now where we reach the magic kdrama episode number range for romance tho lol
The drama makes understanding the story much harder than it needs to be with what it focuses on and what it is skipping, tbh. There are some really odd choices in terms of directing and editing but overall I stick around for the acting and main leads. PHJ is excellent as always, infusing little quirks and humor in what could have been an one-note ML otherwise with his range of expression and gestures. He is not as lively as in FNOS of course and his character here does not reach the same depth writing-wise. However it is definitely a role where his talent for comedy, be it situational or physical can shine, if way more subtly than with resident dork Cha Chawoong. FL is good too but her character was definitely harder to bear the first few episodes which is a matter of her writing making her a tad obnoxious. But that is what character development is for, after all. PHJ definitely has a penchant for picking roles where the ML is more reserved and closed off/cautious emotionally and with the dynamic of the FL bringing out his character's hidden softer side, it seems :D
There are hints of attraction sprinkled in from the start in a way, but the main leads bicker a bit too much for my taste. There is nearly no normal conversation between them so far (eps 10) but i like how he is able to see thru her and call out her bad habits of putting herself down and not valuing her time to eat, stuff like that. They have seen each other at their worst and helped each other. Given this is a story about healing from trauma, these are good foundations for a relationship, their strong personalities in spite. They bring out the best and worst in each other and it is an interesting dynamic. Definitely no Chaseul where the chemistry blazed between both actors, but good enough. Gives me the much needed PHJ drama fix post FNOS-completion, which is why i picked up this drama in the first place. Look forward to the famous kissing scenes within tho xD
Please don't say that. I really don't rate Cha Eun Woo as a good actor... lol.
Oh i know... i just get war flashbacks to his blank face/one expression stare/smile combo (in Rookie Historian) each time someone mentions his name lmao
I thought he was him before I looked at the actor list😭
It is known to the actor too. Kim Min Jae even talked about it in an interview lol:
“I’ve heard that [I look like Yeo Jin Goo] so often now that I don’t really feel anything,” he said. “I just think, ‘Oh, I see.’ I went to the same school as Jin Goo. We’re very different people, but people around us always say we look alike. So I’m like, ‘I see,’ but I don’t actually think about it that much. This was true back when I debuted and it’s true now – I’ve lived a different life from Yeo Jin Goo and I’m sure I have different values and directions in life. I think that if I just live my life, one day I’ll become ‘just Kim Min Jae.'”
Seems to divert quite a bit with the drama giving a lot of scenes of third guy to Babi which implies he will be…
tbh i have not read the webtoon either bc it is long af xD I generally don't go out of my way to read webtoons that got adapted as the adaption often differs a lot anyway. I am just aware of it since ppl in this comment section and in viki timed comments mention it a lot. Further down there is a list of scenes posted that got repurposed for Babi tho. Lemme c+p them from another comment (courtesy of Alex44 tho)
1.The scene where emotional cell took that tractor of was originally love cell with soonrok 2.Heart fluttering scene morning after waking up and covering her with bed cover that night too 3.Stairs falling and catching her it is somewhat different in webtoon I mean he will fail to fully catch her 4.Small scene where naughty cell is teaching other cells classes about *it 😅 it was after soonrok 5.The scene regarding right hand and it landing in h2 planet is also from soonrok 6. The scene where he has the umbrella and they meet after so he can give it back Also the makeout scene in episode 6, apparently. So as you can see it is a lot hehe.
Since a third season is unlikely, it makes sense for them giving these scenes to babi instead and make him endgame. Here is hoping haha.
As for the "cheating" afaik, his heart wavers in the webtoon, but he never makes a move or actually two-times or something like that. It was emotionally cheating tho in a way which led to the breakup in the webtoon, afaik. But he only moves on with that girl years later afaik. I think in the drama she is going to be more used as a test to their relationship than a real dealbreaker, since we have not seen many flaws of babi and it could be used as such. Since he is overly friendly and caring with everyone, which can also be negative.
I hate this seaaon!! This isn't Babi-Yumi, This is Soonrok×Yumi😑😑 The Director really don't care about…
Since a third season is unlikely afaik, it makes perfect sense to handle it like they do in the drama. Because webtoon =/= drama, as they often take liberties in their adaptions. Which is why it is an *adaption* not a 1:1 carbon copy of the webtoon btw, which would be boring too if it were, imo. Bc i can go read the webtoon in that case then and would need no tv show, lol.
Can someone tell me if the drama is closely following the webtoon? :D
Seems to divert quite a bit with the drama giving a lot of scenes of third guy to Babi which implies he will be the guy she ends up with instead of third guy in the webtoon. We will see tho :)
But he's not perfect. He doesn't like his father. He didn't tell Yumi about Woong's financial situation, but he…
I feel there is more to his family situation than that tho. Maybe a bit dysfunctional as in not only not liking his father but also not getting along with him and perhaps with his mother/sister neither too for whatever reasons (too high expectations is a classic here). So he avoids talking about it/facing it. We will see :)
I can't help but notice the difference between the webtoon and the live action.. A lot of scenes that are supposedly…
Afaik, there is no season 3 planned (as of yet), (and imo also not needed since season 2 is just more of the same and i really like her with Babi. Then again, i have not read the webtoon, so i am very eh on that third guy either way. )
Given all that, it would make sense for them to mesh the scenes of the characters together and divert from the webtoon with making Babi endgame. But we will see how it goes and ofc it depends on if there is a season 3 after all. Especially since the intern is now in the picture in the drama as well. Could be a mere source of conflict between them to spice up the story or more as it was in the webtoon. Who knows at this point xD
Edit: Seems season 3 is veeeeeery unlikely to happen so yeah, they will divert quite a bit in the drama then.
