I wish there will be more historical dramas like this. Fantasy+historical+comedy is the best kind of genre for…
Yeah we could use a lot more fantasy kdrama set in the olden days but without historical constraints. Well as long the historical fantasy is not as batshit crazy as in Lovers Of The Red Sky (which drugs did the writers take, srsly?) that is 🤣
If you wanna see this exact story but in good execution that makes sense with a quirky self-awareness of its over the top plot and satisfying character development, y'all are better off watching Jane The Virgin. It is still on Netflix, afaik. (Kinda knew this drama was doomed when the sassy, all-knowing narrator was missing from it haha.)
It is cute and entertaining in a way that it holds my attention long enough to watch a couple of episodes a day, but not the masterpiece ppl make it out to be. I am at episode 8 now and already dread the story to be draggin as i don't see how you are going to fill 20 episodes with that meager plot that already keeps repeating. FL is very good in comedic scenes, physical humor and i like their romance so far well enough, but it does not set my heart aflutter or something. Pretty much an entertaining, if run of the mill kdrama with a couple of now iconic scenes (disgarsting shaaaat) Seen better, but also far worse, so there is that. Let's see if it improves or goes downhill in the second half tho :D
This is complete off the rails version of a historical kdrama, Avatar Waterbender edition. Since freed of the constrains of "real korean history/setting" they let loose with the worldbuilding, plot and characters and i love it. (It does feel like Avatar in a way, i expected someone to bend air/fire etc any moment in the drama, or the fire nation to attack 🤣)
The leads, particularly the pissed off terrier that barks but cannot bite- FL, are delightful. Relatable how she goes around thinking to kill everyone who annoys her and yet... does not (due to strength restraints more than anything but w/e) as we have all been there, in a way with annoying ppl haha. They already have a great chemistry and that twist at the end and the preview of eps 2 ... whoa it is checking all the boxes of what i like in a FL/ML dynamic. Totally here for this. Bless. Looking forward for the dense exposition/worldbulding to become less dense and more digestible/understandable as the drama goes on tho , as there has been a lot in the first episode alone. So far a really fun romp with great action/cgi scenes that are more akin to a C-drama than K-drama.

Heh, thanks. Really annoying how some people hold the actor responsible for playing their role convincingly, and hating/stereotyping the actor for it, at that.
Makes me wanna pick up "Forest" next to get my romantic PHJ fix haha.
The giant flashback to the past in ep. 11 and 12 was pretty good but I have to admit I skipped through most of…
Lol at skipping plot-important backstory, but okay. Objectively looking at PHJ's filmography shows the only villainous role he played was in "Bad Guys" and the other with a lot of caveats of calling it villainous due to production treating his character and him like shit: "The Cheese In The Trap." Both of these roles were eight years ago and six years ago, respectively. The other broad variety of roles of his ever since reach from comedic to romantic, or both, all positive (with an dash of action here and there.)
So this sounds fully like a you problem with your biases instead a problem with PHJ himself/his choice of roles, and acting abilities. Tbh, some ppl reeeeeally need to learn how to distinguish the actor from their roles and/or stop boxing them into one category only bc they played that negative role that one time years ago. Like i watched Ok Taec Yeon in Vincenzo too, so i guess he is a villain for the rest of his filmography now too, bc he played one in Vincenzo? Haha, nope, took me exactly a few episodes of another drama with him as ML to move on from that mindset. As you normally do.
Dang this drama got me captured now with these latest episodes. Have always been lukewarm on Woong, bc miscommunication/lack of communication in a relationship is one of my major pet peeves and no no... and straightforward men such as Babi are just so damn attractive ngl 😏 So i am all in team Ba Bi, like the cells xD
Seeing how they merge scenes of third guy with Babi in the drama, i do hope they change him to be endgame here, maybe? They fit really well together, tho i hope we get to see more of Babi's inner life/thoughts too, since there hasn't been that much yet in comparison to Woong in season one.
I feel tho two seasons of YC's would suffice as it is pretty much the same again with a different guy and while entertaining, another 14 eps of it are enough imo, lol.
Another Shaman in town lol I love In Juk but I don't know after Cha Cha Woong iconic personality I dont think…
That drama is basically FNOS but with good promotion and netflix support. So i bet it will be more popular and widely known. Looking forward to Cafe M, but will be forever pissed on how little promotion there was for FNOS tbh.
And Cha Woongie oppa (lol) will always be my fave shaman dork tbh. I have been rewatching and there are so many nuances to his character, even early on, thanks to PHJ's acting and script, it is amazing. One of my most favorite characters/ML's in dramaland, as i love how many layers this onion has haha
I can't believe they go the breakup route with Raphael like in the original. Do they think they have four more seasons of the show to elaborate on that or what? They should have streamlined this shit instead of going 1:1 with JTV as there is no time/eps to pack in all the plotpoints JTV had in the first season alone. Especially not since this drama wasted so many on unimportant, meandering crap already. Lol, gotta put this trainwreck on hold, better for my nerves.
I feel the same way! Loved eps 3-6, and felt like I was watching a different show for 7-8. Fingers crossed the…
Yeah they felt like filler episodes which given it is just a 12 episodes drama is not a good sign if they need fillers. But here is hoping for some improvement next time 😔🙈
I stumbled over this feature length ad by chance, stayed for Park Hae Jin and giggled the whole time like a teen. There is not much story nor sense here, but a lotta eyecandy for which i gladly spare ten minutes here and there in between other dramas. That girl is living the dream and her "brain empty stare at actor" reactions are so relatable hahaha
Wow this went downhill fast in terms of character stupidity. Masters of self-manipulation and miscommunication, everyone. And in the end, how did she never hear that car approaching with the music blaring, and someone behind her? So many things make no sense or are drawn out into needless drama right now, bleh. Hope next two episodes will be better, since i really liked the first six (four) ones (four bc the starting eps were really slow and too work-focused) I just want this drama to be good 😩

Hey, I am not complaining, lol.
