How about those of us then that CAN relate to the characters & their situations and dialogues ...Yet STILL ends…
I'm not the one you replied to obviously, but i have to mention there is a middle ground between 'watching characters eat/stare into the scenery for more than half of an episode and full on batshit off the wall plot craziness that is makjang. Personally I fall into that middle. In fact... i HATE makjang, i find it unbearable as i like plot, characters and their actions to make SENSE.

And while I can appreciate introspective character-driven stories (Because This Is My First Life is one of my faves), i also want an interesting plot and events around it all that keeps me awake long enough to watch their growth and journey happen. While MLN had a lot of the former, it had nothing of the latter, at least for me. However, just because i could not connect with this drama (I *tried*, truly) does not mean i am starting a makjang bingefest anytime soon, lmao.

Title From Now On, Showtime! Spoiler
- Reading Cha Woong like an open book and getting under his skin in all different ways- Her aegyo is not annoying…
Also the sacred mirror got reincarnated into her, so she is the key to Chawoong's powers. Aka they only function when they are (working) together
She gains the ability to see ghost in episode 11 thru a major plot event

- "No I am not in love" denial power lvl 9000
- Great in fangirling/creating fanchants since a veeeery long time (hehe)
- building the perfect dumb/dumber synergy with Chawoong

This is one of those dramas where you end up continuing watching despite being bored, just because still curious…
Yeah i picked it back up after putting it on hold and hoped to connect with it at last. But after three more eps and even on 2x speed it is still like watching paint dry in slow motion. Don't get me wrong i can appreciate introspective character-heavy slice of life stories (I loved because this is my first life for example), but here nothing ever happens. It is just full of long, drawn out scenes of walking in silence, eating (so much eating, god) and staring into the scenery with dialogue sold as artsy and *deep.* Like, i am an introvert like FL herself and don't like ppl around me most of the time, but my IRL is already pretty mundane, so while others may find it relatable, i don't need to also have that banal everyday portrayed in my drama series too, Especially not to the point where i wanna poke the characters with a stick and yell "DO SOMETHING!" 🙃

I think i have to come to the point where it is time to accept that this drama ain't for me, instead to force my way through while abusing the skip forward button, lol.

Haha, he is like.... ghosts are friends, i don't mind them. He has really adapted to his role lmao

I am not sure what you expect after one eps? Episode 1 of a drama is always used to set up characters and setting…
heh, okay, sorry, then i misunderstood as i took the too bland for a comedy drama in regards of the story etc. No offense intended <3

And unless the technical side of a drama is very jarring i tend to not pay much heed or put weight to it either, as long story/characters are pulling me in. Which this drama did, but i know it ain't for everyone, no piece of media is. Just give it a bit more time than one episode is all i am saying :D

It feels rather simplistic at times, yet so enjoyable with such an excellent cast! It's a fun watch.
I mean it never pretends to be deep either. It is a fun romp with interesting characters and a relatively simple plot, but one which is written, acted and executed well. The depth comes the small clever twists and turns and its callbacks that only make sense when you got the full picture... and of course the actors penchant for comedic timing and their wide emotional range imo. I appreciate it for its tight pacing too and the way it does not linger/drag out the conflicts arising.

But yeah not every drama has to be philosophic or *deep* like MLN for example (which i am thankful for btw as MLN bores me to tears, alas. But different strokes and all that :D) FNOS is an excellent watch if you want something light, funny with endearing, quirky characters and a slow burn romance between the leads that develops organically along with their growth as characters :D

Done with the first episode. The editing bugs me a lot. It's too bland for a comedy drama.
I am not sure what you expect after one eps? Episode 1 of a drama is always used to set up characters and setting and as such is introductory/slower in nature. FNOS is no different here, (tho i think it does offer already enough to continue watching imo). So my advice is to never judge a drama after one single eps, but YYMV, i guess?

I really like that the FL/ML are very open and direct about intimacy and desires instead to blush like teenager at the mere thought of holding hands. Which is always weird in kdramas when the leads are supposed to be like 30+ years old grown ass adults tbh. The mature tone and writing of the drama is really a nice change and feels natural, even if the premise itself (seeing the future through kissing) remains quite silly.

As others have also said below, Park Hae Jin should seriously consider doing a historical drama next. He definitely…
PHJ already said tho that he wants to play more everyday/normal guy roles suiting his age (first), but maybe we will see him in a historical drama somewhere in the future hehe.

Title Woori the Virgin Spoiler
The sudden sniveling in ep9. lolCome on, stand there? the guy that chokes my grandma, is going to get a lamp up…
Lol right? same feeling whenever a character stares like a deer in headlight at the incoming (white) truck of doom in the middle of the road instead to MOVE/JUMP THE FUCK ASIDE... or at least trying to do so. So frustrating and it makes me want to poke the character with a stick each time, like that:

Easy to watch without complication, but complicated and difficult to write. The writer take risks, about the mixed…
I love this drama for the reason that while it is a light, amusing watch it is also a story with depth and lot of heart and care for its characters, no matter how minor. This drama is the proof that you don't need a complicated plot when the elements used are as well-executed and fit together as they do with FNOS.

There are also little things thrown in that seem insignificant at first but gain more importance as the story goes on. The ring used first in episode 5 is a big one, then the tendecy of SH to throw herself into the line of harm to protect CW with her back turned to the attack etc. Small things like that that get mirrored or repeated throughout the drama, giving the attentive viewer a small aha effect as we are shown the reason why, hehe. And most of all, it shows the level of care and thought the screenwriter put into their work <3

Summarization of why the drama is not popular in Korea:No publicity, no top chart music from big idol or groups,…
I mean when PHJ's agency is who has been doing 80-90% of the promotion for the drama, something seriously went wrong and i will forever side eye MBC for it. Can't even start to fathom how frustrated the actors must have been (in private) with this utter lack of support from the network's side. ┻━┻ ︵ヽ(`Д´)ノ︵ ┻━┻

I feel tthe title poster is not doing the drama any favors either with its weird colors and unflattering group shot. The one used as teaser poster was much cleaner and better an image overall while still retaining that magic show vibe:

Sadly yes. I am not ready to say goodbye to this wonderful drama and its characters 😭
Yeeees xD Honestly it takes me about 2 hours or more to finish a FNOS episode because i rewind and type so many timed comments in each episode hahaha. Got a bit infamous for that already on viki if other timed commenter are to go by (one asked/wrote: Wow Bloomingtide you really like this drama huh? and i cackled reading that. What in world made you think that, i wonder🤣)

Too bad CL is held hostage by Disney+ or i would go all out on it too with comments haha

um, your comment got posted like five times lol. Never trust MDL when it says "something went wrong, please try…
Haha, no problem it happens. MDL is just funky at times like that, and lies to you when it says the comment did not post haha in 97% of the cases.

As for your post itself i do think we will get a happy ending with a possible "all is lost" fake out prior to that. Bc the happy ending for the main leads is what's the whole point of the drama tbh and was the reason of Choi's furious matchmaking xD So not ready to say goodbye to these lovable dorks and may end up simply rewatching another round (while taking notes for a compilition vid of funny scenes, mayhaps hehe.

Looking forward to it too. It will be interesting to see Na In Woo in the lead role of a romcom as i have only…
Oh i am aware of that :D i just had no time or motivation to watch that sageuk yet and those two dramas (MPUB and Mr.Queen) are the only ones i have seen him in so far. I know that he had to shoot like day and night for it to manage the immense workload and time pressure. Really wild and he deserves a lotta kudos for that. I have it on my list tho and plan to watch it when I need my sageuk fix hehe.

Yeeeep, he is tall indeed to the point where he even dwarved Kim Jung Hyun in their shared scenes xD And that where KJH is not short either (6 feet/ 1,83m) lmao 😂

I've no proof of any kind, but I feel good this drama. Just let's see...
Looking forward to it too. It will be interesting to see Na In Woo in the lead role of a romcom as i have only seen him as antagonist (Mystic Pop Up Bar) and creepy, boundaries-disregarding SML (Mr. Queen) so far. So i am ready to see him in a positive role for once haha.
