welp i am already 10 eps behind i noticed, but then again this drama is not gripping me half as much as the weekender does tbh: All is very very mid at best, so guess that is why i am not keeping up/rushing to watch, lol.

Oooh we finally have a bts vid of the eps 8-11 I think? Both lead actors have such good chemistry with each other and I love seeing them joking on set. Feels natural too.

Haha, yeah those were the days huh? I mean the first 20.ish eps were fine and well-watchable if still weirdly outdated in hindsight, but the trainwreck really started derailing hard not much later and it killed all my love i ever had for it, especially in hindsight. Now i keep stalking this page if i have a particular horror flashback to its story and character atrocities in order to warn others from watching it lmao.

I mean it is not hard to do given TRHC's abysmal quality, but i enjoy its successor Live Your Own Life already SO MUCH more and we are just 13 eps in with that show xD Sadly it seems to attract way less people than this trashfire here.

Yeah same I rarely find myself agreeing with the high ratings on MDL in general. Not saying this to sound speshul or hipster it's just experiences made with a lot of highly rated kdramas by now falling completely flat for me. Hence I only go by personal like now not rating or comments in order to watch something I find interesting. I have dropped TW now btw bc it was just mid to me at best. So the grandmother's faked "death" is indeed meant to bring the leads closer. I suspected as much but good to know for sure heh. From the soompi article today:

Hmm same but Taeho is a catalyst for it either way I think, aka giving her food for thoughts about her life and how she led it thus far and what needs to change for her to find happiness. Have yet to watch with subs but demonspawn spew some truth from what I gathered even if I still want to strangle that brat for the sheer audacity of it all 😂

Yeah which is equally as fucked up tbh because serving the men in your life to the point of sacrificing your own self due to the irrational fear of them leaving otherwise is a whole bag of yikes and then some. I guess we can agree that mom is long overdue for years of therapy and Hyoshim needs to get away from the toxic wasteland that is her home as there is nothing for her there but misery. As for Taehee i have yet to see a point to her character tbh, there seems to be none besides being a whiny pissbaby of five yrs in mental age that stares dumbly into the distance and "completely unfunny and obnoxious comic relief" but we have still enough episodes left for the writer to convince me otherwise. I don't hold my breath for it though 🤣

Agree. And oh this would not happen immediately of course, maybe years later when Hyoshim is living her best life with hubby Taeho and thus "mother dearest" is very low on her list of priorities. HS gotta make her mother miss her first, of course, which will take a while. But yeah there is a lot of systematic internalized misogyny and the belief how women are below men and need to "serve them" with that shrew of a mother at work that has remained unexamined for decades. Hyoshim is different not just due to being another generation, but also she is (starting to) questioning matters after being forced into the same toxic pattern for years her mother took for granted for her life, and in effect (for) her daughter as well. But unlike her mother, HS will, and attention title drop here xD live her own life and a happier one, at that.😁 That is the whole point of the drama after all, to show that living for the family only is toxic and a healthy amount of selfishness rather positive and self-protecting. And again unlike her mother, HS is in the process of learning that and "break free" from the pattern keeping her shackled and beaten down.

well now i know she was not rushing over to the hospital but panicking nonetheless and was the whole time in distress after it happened with his "granny." So her boss telling her to bring him flower bouquet bc vip client served just as well for a visit. And the way she lingered at his bed as he slept and looked at him was very telling. Hyoshim is down bad already, i was correct in that at least haha.

Yeah makes sense. She just reminds me of these tiktok toxic boy moms tbh, which yikes. So basically Hyoshim needs to leave in order for her ungrateful ass to learn to appreciate her, i guess. Hope to see her moving out soon-ish and it is not unlikely bc there has been a shift in HS lately regarding how she views things (aka her mother, her brothers and general her life) which runs parallel with her growing feelings for Taeho of course. As this, as said before, also grows the wish to have "something of her own" aka a relationship with a good kind man who (emotionally) supports her for a change. Which she undoubtedly will find in Taeho and i love how the talk with his gran has really opened up her perspective on this, that it is okay to care for him. Hence why she went to the hospital (okay this was also due to her boss telling her to, but the way she lingered at his bed... woman is down bad for Taeho already haha)

I doubt she even gives enough of a damn about him other than wanting TH to go away, best permanently. Then again, you never know what is going on in this warped witchy head of hers tbh. Hence i think the marriage of the leads won't happen till the mystery of his parents is solved and eviline and her underling responsible have paid for it. So not before the end of the show i guess? But we will see heh.

Nah eviline is classist af so Hyoshim is far below what she considers the standard for her son. To her newscaster lady is the ideal wife for him since she is also loaded and has influence which of course the witch craves. Hyoshim as her son's wife would give her zero advantage so even if she were of higher standing and interested in TM at all Harpy would oppose it and favor SK instead. As it is tho with HS coming from a modest background she would never ever allow it and label her a gold digger and such for the parallel universe case of HS wanting a relationship and marriage with Taemin. Which she does not ever and it is for the better since it would never work out family-wise. Taeho is a much easier case here, as harsh as it sound he has no parents able to oppose to their (future) marriage anymore and grandma already likes HS a lot so yeah, marry away my sweet bbys 😁

I was half joking with the restraining order as I doubt the show will go to such extremes, but those kind of men accepting no rejection whatsoever and who are so mired in their entitlement over a woman's time, space and emotions "bc they like her" are the most dangerous and there have been and there are sadly regularly irl cases of women being murdered for refusing a man's advances. As said i really miss the Once Again days where the maknae couple was actually cute, responsible and fun to watch instead of an annoying mess. Hasn't been the same in family dramas since the sadon couple, sadly. I miss them 😭(HML's maknae couple was good too tho)
