I'm so excited we get two whole episodes this weekend!
Saaaame. (not so) fun fact: Tomorrow is the first time since the drama started airing a month ago that we actually get TWO episodes on the weekend, lol.
So since everything is so damn slow i actually wait for the week's episodes to accumulate and then watch them…
wasn't this bad past her initial reaction tho. She even defended her daughter against the cheating scum ex bf and chased him away. And it seems we get those two dragging plots moving a bit: With SW getting to know SE is an actress and SFL having her budding romance with SE's bro (i may learn the names later on but now i cant be bothered lmao)
So since everything is so damn slow i actually wait for the week's episodes to accumulate and then watch them close to/on the weekend for a better flow (and with 1,5x speed lol) I actually love the bond between Eun Song and her father. He is fully supportive of her and really kind, sadly as the only one in her family. Sure the guy is a doormat and too meek overall, but his wife is also a controlling borderline abusive shrew that keeps breaking new unlikability levels every episode. FL's so called half siblings are quite self-absorbed and only care about themselves or to yell at their sister. In 15 eps i have yet to see a wholesome scene between the siblings which is a shame tbh. Chicken fryer is indeed the best name for the so called mom who has severe double standards in regards how she treats her birth daughter and her step children. One could think ES is the unloved step child and the other two her birth children, indeed. Yikes. What a hypocrite.
I feel they are really spoofing the delusional SFL trope in fam dramas here, bc she is shown and seen as delulu by Soonwoo. That she is crazy side-eye he gave her in the taxi was bombastic π I still find it amusing because it is shown as ridiculous and unserious, but i hope they move on from that storyline soon. They also keep dragging the callgirl misunderstanding between the leads too much. I didn't understand why ES did not tell him that she is here for an audition after bumping into him in the hallway there (literally, woahπ) and Soonwoo did not tell her what he was doing there either. This felt so artificial, just for the sake of keeping the misunderstanding alive. They are cute together, bc they are having no filter in their words to each other and no pretense, other than SFL who orchestrates whole scenarios in her head and does whatever SW likes best and boringly agreeable. No wonder ES is the one that stays in his mind instead, bc she is real to him. Him seeing a cat and thinking of her was so cute.
Speaking of cute, Garam is the cutest kid and they may be hinting at a romance between ES' sis and Garam's dad, later on? Since they seem to sprinkle first plot seeds here with letting Garam meet her etc Other than that not much has happened, but hey it is still over 100 eps to go so yeah lol. Off to watching the last two eps of this week tho. Lets see how much of an asshole chicken fryer will be. My bet is: a giant one.
I suggest watching strong woman do bong soon bc they are really cute π₯°
SWDBS has aged terribly imo (the cringy and questionable humor, aka domestic violence so funny hahaha, the serial killer's motive, the homophobic jokes and stereotypical portrayal of gay character) but the lead couple is cute, i guess? Not sure if it worth sitting thru all the other cringy mess but that is up to you to decide of course)
The rating is about right for Korean shows, 8.2 is a really good rating. Don't compare it to Chinese shows as…
I would avoid holding myself hostage to MDL ratings if i were you tbh. It has inflated massively in the past few years and is all but an accurate metric to the point that it basically lost all meaning. If you see a show that looks interesting to you, just try it out for yourself, independent of ratings. There are many good shows in the 7-8 range mostly from times before ratings basically became a popularity/hype contest.
Personally i have watched so many highly rated shows that fell flatter than a pancake for me, while i liked some of the lower rated more. In the end it always comes down to personal taste, which is much better than following an arbitrary metric blindly.
Not watching yet but is nam soon the child of the ml and fl of the original or someone else that also happens…
yeah, but it is a spinoff, not a sequel. Fine but important difference ;) Hence it plays in the same universe with same writer etc but completely new characters, so namsoon is the daughter of someone totally unrelated to them, but the women of her fam and she have the same if not very much upgraded powers. The leads of the og are gonna have a cameo as a wink wink nudge nudge to the older show tho.
Lmao, this drama comes kinda close to the airing ending date of "Live Your Own Live"' and that show is a 50 eps family drama that only started a month before this one. This whole one eps per week thing is whack π
Even if Nam Soon was strong enough to stop the airplane, how could her shoes survive it? You need leverage no…
i have been thinking the same with the shoes haha, but it is best to not apply logic to a show where a five years old lifts a car with one hand and suchπ
And i think the most unrealistic part of this drama with superstrength and all is STILL that ML has this swanky super big apartment in Gangnam on a police officer wage tbh π€£
Also i have been watching so many enemies to lovers shows lately that it is refreshing to see how amicable the leads are already with each other and hitting it off right from the start without bickering. ML is already charmed and it is adorable to see <3
Nam soon is so adorable omg, i love the sunshine energy the actress brings to this role. And she can allow herself to be carefree all alone in SK tbh, bc no one can mess with her and live π€£ Also compared to og FL she is way overpowered, like she is more like superman/woman than just strong. Since she has super speed, eye sight and whatnot on top of supernatural strength. They upgraded the powers in this spin off like whoaπ
