I would love for him to tell on the shady deal instead of colluding with them, if only to not cause any more harm to the leads after what they have been through, but it would also complete his 'redemptive' arc for his past life. After all he has become a good reliable friend to them, especially HJ, already. So here is hoping he is gonna do the right thing.

Yeah we should have been at eps 8/9 by now but we are still shambling around eps 5. At this rate they will have the full drama filmed before we get close to catching up, since they are currently shooting eps 17/18 I believe lol. Which on the other hand is a good thing as it proves the writer has confidence in her script and isn't chronically dependent on outside feedback like the hack with TRHC was.

Honestly the only time i have seen noble idiocy done well is in From Now On Showtime, where ML left FL due to supernatural, dangerous circumstances. What does FL do? Seeks him out in his hidey hole and chews him out for this nonsense. "- If you die, then what? Am I to say... "Of course. We're no longer a couple, so why would I care whether he dies or not?" Am i supposed to shake it off as if it were nothing? How stupid can you be? I have been missing you like crazy and the thought of you being hurt had me worried. How could you do this to me?" And then she proceeds to tell him she is staying at his side no matter what, because that is her definition of love. The whole issue was solved in 7 minutes tops and is to date very cartathic to watch in regard of this crappy trope as it is as good a subverting of it as it gets.

Other than that? Nah, never adds anything to a story but needless drama and wangsty bs. Worse even, noble idiocy does take agency completely away from the person the other char claims to protect "out of love", and this exactly is what FL in FNOS calls ML out for. This is why it is the worst trope in existence and needs to die, bc it is 2023 and writers really need to update their scripts in this regard and find better less obnoxious and infuriating way for interpersonal conflict between the leads. Like how about... they stay together and find a solution together for their problem like mature adults instead of one of them running away like a scared pissbaby. Now that would be an idea, right? :D

Currently watching so not far in but I already love to see the full backstory in eps 14, like there are so many scenes that the writer already sprinkled in before like the one where SY sees a joseon lady at the palace while there with NY pretty much at the start already and several others that now build a bigger picture. It gives me a satisfying Aha moment. Only wish we had the full backstory one or two eps earlier, but overall it is very well-done. It just requires you having patience and attention toward the story is all. Of course it requires ML in mortal danger to get the full flashback, lmao (reminds me of From Now On Showtime here)
