I love how the episode managed to press pause for both leads to obsess over and push all reasoning toward the love potion and being forced to look past that and face their true feelings (even if magic and destiny is giving the little nudge needed after all, it does not change their feelings that have been there underneath it all)
SML getting them out of that way of thinking, was good for that for that at least (looking forward for hajoon to get the woman in Live Your Own Life tho hehe) And yeah as quick she moved past her crush for him, as much she is in denial regarding having fallen for Shinyu being the reason. Definitely big big denial but like with SY the truth came out while being drunk lol.
Thoughts about episode 7 and our two idiots in love but not in love:
Whether or not the spells are real, Shinyu and Hongjo are real to each other. Like, they squabble, and never make the attempt to be someone they are not when they are talking or rather bicker with each other. They are themselves with each other, no pretenses, just a genuine connection, with all its flaws and vulnerabilities. Plus they already so in sync without even noticing hahaha. (The way Shinyu made the believing in spells an us vs him issue had me rolling.)
Now compare how FL has been with SML, she changed her voice, behavior etc to be more likable to him... at least when she was crushing on him. Which went away quickly like a fart in the wind this episode xD She is now comfortable around him, but it is the yo buddy, lets go to the dog shelter together kind of comfortable instead of this is my husband kinda comfortable lmao. Big difference and noted with chagrin by JK who was so smug about it to SY (too late buddy, you had your chance) The whole episode she was thinking about Shinyu instead, with the premise of spells being "nonsense" or rather the question if they truly work, it gave her (and shinyu) the possibility to ponder if his feelings were indeed true, while on the same side they should not be due to bitchyeon...err nayeon. However if so, what does that mean for her, what does he mean to her? Enough to scroll thru his old messages and smile like a fool while reading them. Enough to be upset that he does not call her anymore. Enough to drunkingly confess how much she "always liked groot and how he was her favorite." Yeah woman, you are fooling yourself of not being in love and u can’t even blame a love potion for it, lol.
And look at Shinyu. The whole time he thought (and maybe there still is) that there is a bigger force beguiling him to feel attracted to someone that "is not his type" aka the love potion, then some neural bs. When he actually was just crushing haaaaaard (either way) on HJ because subconsciously he craved a real connection that he never had in his life. While his parents seem nice, he is still subjected to be a good son and act according to his/their status, and to me it all lacks a lot of warmth. SY is lonely in another way HJ is, but still lonely nonetheless, keeping up appearances in this sort of golden cage. The bitchy fakeass gf with high status fits right into that. I am sure there is gonna be a parallel to their past lives coming up. Especially past him, like he does now craving something real, SOMEONE real and found it in HJ past and present. It is pretty telling that he goes out of his way to visit the flower creep to tell him off in the most lawyer boyfriend way, and then buys flowers but never for a second thinks to give them to NY lmao. He does not even spare NY a thought unless forced to by his father setting the wedding date. Which yeah, a happy groom he is not, at all. Here is hoping he can break free from the gilded cage and fakeness very soon and it feels like his salvation as prophesized is HJ in more than one way.
Then we have gossip boy going "oooh i told them all of your gf. Look there she is in the cafeteria" and Shinyu’s eyes stray immediately toward HJ with 10000 tons of pining. And of course the whole "neural thingie" he went on about to reason why his feelings are not real while instinctual shielding her from the sun. The only one you are fooling is yourself, Shinyu but thankfully he has the full episode to recognize that, so no wonder he lied when saying he won't make a step toward her but whirls her around and onto his lips in the next moment 😂 Pining lvl had reached its maximum and needed release haha (can we appreciate how rowoon uses his hand to cradle the side of her face/back of her neck during that omg. He already did that in the imaginary kiss scene 🔥 )
Not going much into the SL issue as they are both mere tools for conflict (more on SFL's side than SML of course) and to bring the leads closer together. Footnotes. Ehhh. Hmm, i know too little about story and chars yet to determine who is gonna fall first. But afaik Taeho is the reason for Hyoshim to become more independent from her fam, so perhaps she is crushing first this time heh. I guess for Taeho it will be somewhat similar to TK in TRHC that FL is a bright spot in his life he did not know he needed 😁
Oh the brothers are starting out as super obnoxious brats, but will be getting heavy character development i am sure. They won't be the same at the end like they were at the start. It is not gonna be another Dongwook who did not change one bit in 50 eps lmao bc this writer is much more capable and experienced in weekenders. I am glad we don't have a screechy SFL this time around and the lovelines are pretty orderly, separate from each other and nice. Lots of story potential here. Lets see how it goes.

But having enough of that, the granny uses a chance to escape from the nursing home and gets into an accident with Hyoshim's youngest brother. This is how Taeho and Hyoshim meet then heh.
Also we don't seem to have the typical SFL this time around? Especially not one who is obsessed with ML for whatever goddamn mental reason. Finger crossed it being really the case because i am sick and tired of this annoying char archetype.
