No idea of their occupation yet, we get to know it in the first two episodes i bet. Just that ML is the son of…
Yeah i am already glad that the SML is no insufferable irredeemable, narcissistic toxic trashfire like in TRHC. From what i gathered it seems that Taemin knows Hyoshim for a longer time as he uses to train with her as client for years, so Taeho is the one having a fateful encounter with Hyoshim long after him (but still "wins" the woman hehe)
Lets see if i can find a relationship chart on twitter tho. I KNOW i have seen one a while ago.
From the pictures, I can tell heโs rich. And is the other dude a politician?
No idea of their occupation yet, we get to know it in the first two episodes i bet. Just that ML is the son of rich (dead) parents and a bit of a "leave me alone" loner aka Taekyung and SML is his cousin and much more a people person. Both are gonna take a shining to Hyoshim, so love triangle i guess.
TK actor was a replacement, I think. Not the original actor intended for the role.
I don't think so. He lived the role and i cannot imagine anyone that could have done a better job as Taekyung than AJH did. Rather blame shitty writing and direction for the lack of warmth in the second half so they became legal roommates raising a baby than a married couple in love
Heyooooo <3 Good to have you here. Sit down, get comfortable it is gonna be another six months of living in a comment section, yelling at clouds yay hahaha (hopefully less so than with TRHC)
With this amount of episodes very little romance, so if you are thinking about giving this shot for the romance,…
I would argue that this is not even a good drama when leaving out romance (what romance?) It is a repetitive misery wankfest that goes nowhere except in circles. Messy as hell writing without rhyme or reason, least of all structure or direction, does not develop any of the characters and even forgets 90% of the exist at the end. In the last 20 eps literally NOTHING of consequence or importance happened and you can skip right to the ending eps and not miss anything. The writing, all romance aside (again WHAT romance?) is nothing but frustration galore and an insult to viewers.
Did Jinhee and Hyunmin break up because of the romantic scenes? Or do you mean they omitted romantic scenes because…
Just speculation we did in the trhc comment section as to why the romantic scenes, as little as there were, always looked as if she would rather be somewhere else than in any kind of closeness to AJH (who did his best but can't say the same of BJH) She did not sell YD being in love with TK in the slightest instead looked fully uncomfortable/awkward and paid heed to keep her distance. Sure i blame like 95% on abysmal writing and direction since this writer turd seemed to think in general that romance is icky and boring for the viewer with how it was overall handled in the show (like not at all after the mandatory part was done) and they kept using honorifics AFTER marriage (!!!) even, there was no affection, no small touches or loving words as couples between them (the actors of the main couple in homemade love story which i am watching atm do this wonderfully) just legal roommates who raise a baby together.
Both actors seemed fine in the bts vids, but i guess we will never know what caused this cold as a fish romance in trhc tbh. Maybe somewhere does factor her breakup in here, but that is baseless speculation i don't wanna further any more. Fact is tho that i cuddled more with my cat than these married characters did with each other lmao
Any advices for kdrama like this? with many episodes and romance ?
This one? AVOID. Watch the upcoming "Live Your Own Life" instead. Also very good shows of its genre are Once Again, Five Enough, My Father Is Strange, What Happened To My Family, My Golden Life, Never Twice, Homemade Love Story.
You need to be patient with story and characters, as both is developing more slower and characters often start out as their worst, annoying self to become much better and likeable over time (or not in case of villains lol) Each character gets their limelight and share of the story, it is not solely focused on the main leads like in reg kdrama. After all, it is a FAMILY drama heh. Romance is a slow but steady build like anything else but it remains all very family friendly, so don't expect any spicy scenes xD There are several love lines not just the main leads. There are also certain tropes typical for fam dramas that you will quickly figure out as soon you have seen a few lol.
hope to see you in the comment section of the upcoming (and better) weekender hehe
tbf, having watched a few fam dramas on the side now, TRHC has been an exceptional stinker among them. It was very untypical for a fam drama, more like a cheap daily drama with perhaps higher production quality, if at all.
This dumbass of a writer treated the weekender first like a 16-20 eps kdrama and when that obviously did not pan out he turned it into the cheapest overwrought daily drama where shock value and dragged out ridiculous repetitive plots reigns surpreme. Little to nothing has anything to do with how family dramas are structured, written and also regarding its themes. There was nothing heartwarming about the perpetual misery and suffering we had to witness week by week with main and side-characters degraded and the focus on ONE character only. Timejumps DURING a weekender are a sin and should not be repeated, nor do i think they will. The only time a timejump happens is AFTER the ending, in the epilogue to show the HEA of all the characters. The one show that did this exceptionally well is Once Again which had a big timejump of three years at the end and took ONE AND A HALF EPISODES of time to show the viewers how the characters have lived and what they had done. Super satisfying unlike TRHC which was bad in everything, especially the pacing so that the epilogue was like what? 3 minutes? lmao, yeah no.
Hyoshim is also penned by a veteran writer of the weekender genre and pd is very experienced too, so there will be much less dumbfuckery regarding its writing, i am sure.
Omg, pls post this as review, this is gold. I know i should write a review or rather WARNING too but honestly…
Uee being a fitness trainer in her weekender at least promises that she possesses toughness and does not falter under the mere weight of one (1) infant like BJH did as YD (hope she has time for regular meals now bc geeez) I guess that explains why AJH held baby sol so often in scenes tho๐ So yeah seeing the writer is a veteran of the weekender genre makes me much more hopeful to see a good structured story than being subjected to the misogynistic headless chicken shit this dumbass produced here. Or rather shat on the table and called a script, but oh well. You honestly CANT GO WRONG with Once Again, it is imo a perfectly executed and structured family drama with all the things that TRHC was NOT. (only thing that was a tad annoying was how long the lost sister subplot was dragged out but ehh details) Every character gets their HEA after subsequent good char development, no one is forgotten about. Hell OA has 1 1/2 eps of EPILOGUE alone to wrap up things in the most satisfying way.
I am glad i could make your stay worthwhile with the summaries but even i know when to give up on those and it was long AFTER the writer did at that, hahaha. I may do the same for Hyoshim if it catches my interest enough but for now i am coasting in that comment section and just see how things go, lol. One thing is for sure, Uee and Hajoon gonna have much better chemistry as lead cp bc that can only get better. Or rather... can't get any worse hahaha.
I am just glad when the summer is finally over lol. I hate heat waaaaaay more than the cold bc when it is cold i can build a blanket fort but i can hardly tear off my skin to cool off lol. Plus it is much easier to stick to my regular strength training when i am not already sweating buckets BEFORE a workout so yeah. I am not worried about winter tbh, have my way to WEATHER it (okay i see myself out ๐ Pls take care yourself and be well. Hope to see you around <3
Now that it's over I will say that not once did I feel like YD was in love with TK. I could feel it a little bit…
I did feel it around her buying the bracelets and the miscarriage scare and the days she was in the clinic. But it was very short-lived as it got destroyed by the writer about an episode later because romance is icky, or something, according to this dumbass. This is how we ended up with this complete nonsense that followed and nothing was the same anymore.
One last post to irritate the Long Post Police, and for some closure here. I'll put the 2nd half of this in the…
Omg, pls post this as review, this is gold. I know i should write a review or rather WARNING too but honestly i lost all damns to give since i saw the ending screen. Or rather several weeks earlier ๐ I just want to move on to Hyoshim and scrub my brain to forget it ever happened.
Either way, thank you for all your posts, theories (much better than what we actually got) humor and discussion the past months friend. I was always looking forward to those and you tearing into TRHC with the kind of jaded humor and sarcasm i loved as it made my suffering thru this badly written mess so much more bearable๐ Hope to see you in the comment section of the next (hopefully much better) weekender and daily, because you know, shared joy is doubled while shared pain is halved. And hope springs eternal to see a singular good fam drama post Once Again lmao (tho homemade love story following OA is a very decent watch too)
A few weeks ago, I swore I would never watch another family drama but. . . .a few days ago, someone pointed out…
Welcome back to another round on the family drama chaos, friend :D Good to see you. And yeah regarding the balance of characters and stories i am waaaay more relaxed as this writer is a veteran of the weekender genre and knows how to handle it, unlike the inept headless chicken shit who was new to writing fam dramas (and boy did it show)
Here is to a family drama taking place in SK 2023, instead of Joseon 1748 like TRHC, lol. ๐ฅ
I would like to comment on the lack of punishment for the second leads. I waited, expecting that the second leads…
Yeah i noticed it is more usual in family dramas but then again the last fam drama i completed (Once Again) had the character been put in jail for family fraud but also been verbally forgiven by the real sister of FL's father as she visited her in jail. Still there was a sense of punishment for the crime, at least.
Here, however? A trash man stalked, harassed, blackmailed, threatened and emotionally abused his ex partner and family down to psychological terror on daily basis for a year and counting.... and is rewarded instead of held accountable in any way. No the narrative went awwwwww poor lonely misunderstood man even and i am ๐คฎ Sadly it all fits too well the overall backwards ass and misogynistic narrative of the writer. I hope he stays away from women irl as much as the leads stayed away from each other because YIKES.
Nothing of importance happened, just circular misery wankfest that went nowhere and was of little consequence.…
Nothing about Jay, ever. Was forgotten about like the bracelets and a lot of other storylines bc this writer is the worst and most inept one i have ever seen penning a kdrama.
Airhead couple went off/on with a lot of back and forth and circular nonsense that went nowhere. No real resolution, but they are dating again after SK played cupid and the families never got to know about it as they continue dating in secrets. Bc keeping big secrets has worked out so well in the past for their respective siblings. Worst maknae/sadon couple i have seen ever in a weekender, even oldest couple had a better love story and the healthiest relationship in the end.
Yeah understandable but Hee is the reason this wedding happened in the first place bc as shit as both were in communication they would never got back together without her meddling. Which btw, is another point i am pissed about... like Hee and YD stopped talking completely. I knooow there was due to family ties, but come on, shithead got a free pass here. They could have left YD some sort of support system not her family, with Hee at least. But nope they reverted back to strangers as they were both sucked up by their respective nonsense drama ughh.
Someone pls write last 10 episode summary. Thanks.
Nothing of importance happened, just circular misery wankfest that went nowhere and was of little consequence. But they had a wedding ceremony and TK adopted Haneul after another time jump i guess? The end.
Don't watch, not worth it. Just jump to the ending eps if you are curious.
Lets see if i can find a relationship chart on twitter tho. I KNOW i have seen one a while ago.
Oh here it is: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F47-3epacAAYCpM?format=jpg&name=medium
Pretty obvious loveline, lol. So i guess the love triangle is mostly there to make them realize their feelings etc, but we will see.
