also in terms of character and story - it's connected but completely different at the same time, which is interesting and something they are able to do because of the concept. Multiple universes etc.

While in the show version, the main conflict was making sure wansen doesn't die (there is some sort of that here)- it was cool to see that overall theme of them struggling to even stay together as it seems that the universe is purposely tearing them apart.

The questions that pop up for me is if any of them are in their main universe or are they all jumbled up? At the end of the movie the two of them say wansen's name and are sent to the respective universes where they are not alive - Then we see the continuation from the TV show where (I think beixing was in another universe), so does that mean she's meeting up with the wansen from that universe? And what does that mean in her original universe where wansen is dead ....

So many questions 😭

depending on where you live , some theaters are showing this movie . i just watched it in the theater today

the last 30-20 minutes of the movie was truly the highlight . i'd consider this a happy ending but i kinda love how they created more questions about the universe rather than answering them . it's fun to theorize

this was pretty enjoyable overall but i wished they toned it down with the skin smoothing on xiaotong - especially since it was done on like only her and for the men you could see their skin textures

yuanqi needs some major development idk cause hongyi seems to be the better person despite his aunt controlling him and whatnot

coming back because i realized something .. it even looks like she's wearing the same white outfit she was wearing when she got hit by that bus 🧐

I had a conversation with someone about the ending because it very much sets it up like she died. Nobody is having any direct interaction with her. She is far away, not even eye contact is made. While she is standing off looking at them longingly. Although they do say "let's go see mom"- it feels strange they would place her so out of the way in a scene that is supposed to be loving and happy. She is even wearing a white dress which is typically associated with someone who has passed away and is appearing as a spirit.

But of course the fact that we never saw if the hospital machine started beeping again, and the fact that they do talk about seeing mom. It could mean that she is alive.

It makes me wish I was in household discussions as this last episode aired .. must've been insane 😭 .

Like when you think about the title of the drama as well.. even Ariel becomes seafoam at the end of her story in order to save the life of the prince (her son ?) .

The screenwriter is crazy for this type of ending like you could've just shown her and the kids running together or something 😭😭😭😭😭 .

As exaggerated as her dialect is- I think it makes sense considering she lived alone on a deserted island for like 20 years. She had no outside contact with anyone so her accent just developed and got stronger on it's own.

The same would probably happen if you were isolated by yourself for that long. You can only speak to yourself so there would be no way for your accent or even vocabulary to fit the 'norm'.

Again, in my country I'm 100% sure there are laws from state to state that forbids someone from changing their name if they have anything other than a misdemeanor.

But in general, aside from appearance and name, DNA (despite its flaws) will be stronger evidence if it comes down to it.

I'd like to think that these type of people only exist in fiction, but no matter how difficult it is to change one's appearance or name. If they want to get it done they will. In general though, it's a lot easier than expected to go by a different name without legally changing it.

I'm American so I'm not sure if there is much of a difference in Korea- but changing your name isn't really /that/ hard. You just have to pay a good amount of money- and then it's tedious to have to go to the dmv to change your name on official documents and such.

It takes forever but if you are serious about it then you will get it done.

In the midst of a painting I am making of Namkoong Min as Janghyun- I found a quote that I felt suits his character to some degree. Especially with the fact that both Janghyun and Gilchae have been wearing more blue recently.

I'm a big hater for cheaters but honestly there was never love to begin with in Gilchae's marriage. She literally only married him because it would mean her family would be safe and comfortable. I'm always thinking that if her husband knew that she kissed Janghyun the night before her wedding - Would he even want to marry her ?

But the fact that he abandoned her while knowing she could be held captive and being assaulted - That marriage is over in my eyes. It was over the moment he was blaming her and Janghyun for the fact that she got kidnapped instead of actually caring if she was in danger or not. His self esteem is too low and at this point he might just want her so Janghyun doesn't get her.

I've seen the argument that during those times in Joseon, having a romantic encounter (whatever you would call it) while married is a big no-no. But honestly from the start Gilchae and Janghyun never followed that norm. She kissed Janghyun before she was even engaged to him and honestly both of them are so respectful to each other that I wonder if Janghyun would even make a move knowing Gilchae is still married. She might be the one to initiate something.

I'm worried about her husband's ego and it seems clear that he'll either want to get rid of Janghyun or Gilchae if he finds out they've been together. But we'll have to wait until the next set of episodes to see who was sent out by her husband, and what he told that person to do if they found Gilchae.

also i have to say . who was singing in that ost during the beginning of the ep … dude had me emotional as hell

episode 14 was a good one - full of pain ? yeah .. but the payoff at the end was satisfying .

i just continuously seem to love gilchae more and more . she stands ten toes down to her beliefs and refuses to let anyone take advantage of her. without the help of janghyun , she even faced the emperor .

the scene of her yelling at the princess at the end is just powerful. ahn eunjin deserves recognition just for that . the more the show progresses , you can just see that these two are made for each other . like the absolute trust and faith they hold between themselves is admirable itself.

you could really see it in the way that gilchae fights to survive. she does it for herself but also because she knows janghyun believes in her.

janghyun was wonderful in this episode as well , he will stop at nothing in order to make sure gilchae is safe .. respect ☝🏻i’ve said a lot about janghyun in my past comments so i want to dedicate this one to gilchae ,, keep fighting girl we love you ❤️

hwang jinyoung has written two of my all time favorite male leads . i think she deserves an award just for that

as more episodes go by , it really seems that this is one of the points the writer is trying to get across - that the abuse and assault women go through during war or just in general is nothing for them to be ashamed of , and these women shouldn’t be treated as less then because of it

i would say beware because there are quite a bit of details/info that might be good to know in between eps 6-15 😭

may i ask why you want to jump episodes like that ?

so the ending of ep 13 ….. yeah we’ve been knowing how much of a tunnel vision janghyun has with gilchae . i’m ready for him to get rid of anyone in his path in order to get her to safety - like i feel his frustration of trusting her to leave him so she could be safe with another man , just to see her in the worst possible condition . like i’d be pissed off because she would’ve been safer running away with janghyun .. but i get it ….

also her husband is a pos . if he knew gilchae had kissed janghyun multiple times in the past i wonder if he would even want to marry her still . he’s so pathetic for leaving her there just because he thinks she was assaulted . even if she was - that is no reason to abandon her
